It’s a well-documented fact that writer/director David Ayer wasn’t happy with the cut of his DC Comics film adaptation Suicide Squad that Warner Bros. released back in 2016, and he and many DC fans are hoping the “Ayer Cut” will someday be sent out into the world. Now, during a conversation with Jon Bernthal on the podcast Real Ones, Ayer has admitted that the experience of working on Suicide Squad “broke” him.
Ayer told Bernthal (as reported by Variety), “Hollywood, I tell people, is like watching someone you love get f*cked by someone you hate. The big one is Suicide Squad. That shit broke me. That handed me my ass. Come right off (the 2014 war movie) Fury, right? I had the town in my hand — could’ve done anything, and I did do anything. And go on this journey with [Suicide Squad]. And the same thing — authentic,...

'What did the credits scene mean?' and 20 other questions about Suicide Squad are answered here...
Contains spoilers for Suicide Squad.
David Ayer’s Will Smith and Margot Robbie-starring DC Comics antiheroes movie Suicide Squad is out now. Once you’ve seen it, you might well have some questions.
Scroll past our spoiler squirrel, Daphne, once you’re ready to explore the quandaries left dangling by the film in spoiler-stuffed detail...
Who was The Red Streak?
Let’s start with an easy one. Right at the start, a dude in metallic red suit speeds into the establishing cutaway scene about Jai Courtney’s Boomerang, stands around for a second and then dishes out a one-liner regarding honour among thieves. Later on, a now-incarcerated Boomerang calls him ‘The Red Streak’.
This chap, of course, is Ezra Miller’s take on The Flash, making a rather-well-kept-under-wraps cameo appearance.

Suicide Squad is not the darkest mainstream superhero comic book movie ever made, nor is it even the darkest live-action film featuring Batman ever made. However, it is gleefully nihilistic, and it takes a different approach to what has become a fairly familiar story form at this point, right at the moment when it feels like superhero movies either have to evolve or die. It is very much a David Ayer film, but he’s playing with some of the biggest icons of the DC universe in a way that no one else has so far in a feature film. It suggests just how much room there is for filmmakers to think outside the box as they bring these characters to life, in part because of the ways it succeeds and because of the ways it fails. The film is set directly after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice,...

The Kickboxer movie reboot is still moving forward and we have a bit of good news and bad news. Let's start off with the good: Jean-Claude Van Damme is set to return to the franchise! The bad news: Thai martial arts star Tony Jaa (Ong Bak, Furious 7) had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Van Damme is taking Jaa's place, and in this version of the story Van Damme is the master, not the student. He will play an updated version of the original film’s Master Chow.
The actor joins Alain Moussi (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum), Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), and George St. Pierre (Captain America: The Winter Soldier).
The reboot is being directed by Stephen Fung, who is known for films such as Tai Chi Zero and Tai Chi Hero. The story follows Kurt Sloan (Moussi), "a talented...

Earlier this year, fans of the Kickboxer franchise were greeted with the news that Thai action star, Tony Jaa (Ong Bak) had signed on to appear in the sort-of anticipated remake. As exciting as the announcement was, alas a dreaded scheduling conflict arose and he has now dropped out of the project. But don’t worry – the original Kickboxer, Jean-Claude Van Damme, has boarded the movie as his replacement!
Directed by John Stockwell, the retooled version will follow Alain Moussi (X-Men: Days of Future Past)’s leading man Kurt Sloan – “a talented martial artist who travels to Thailand where he must learn the secrets of the kickboxer to avenge his brother’s death at the hands of Tong Po.” Moussi will be facing up against WWE-star Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy) as his deadly adversary, Po.

Jcvd is returning to the franchise that helped him to become the star that he was, Kickboxer. Word has come in now that the renowned martial artist has officially been cast in the upcoming remake, this time taking on the Master role. Come inside to learn more!
I don't think I can properly convey how excited I am. I've always been bummed that Van Damme fell off the map for so long, because I think he's a strong action actor and deserved better. His turn in Expendables 2 as the villain provide ample proof of his badass nature. While I can't say I was really looking forward to a Kickboxer remake, my excitement level just kciked up a few notches.
Van Damme will take on the role of Master Chow to guide Kurt Sloan (his former role in the franchise) in his quest of vengeance. I'm hoping it's not cheesy or over done for his appearance,...

I have many mixed tastes when it comes to horror and sometimes some movies just don’t work for me. Then there are ones that are crazy enough to not take themselves too seriously and just go for the crazy, and they catch me. Evil Feed is a film that mixes mixed martial arts, cannibalism and sex together in an orgy of cult sensationalism that refuses to let me hate it; I loved every minute of it.
When their friends disappear a group of martial artists are forced to infiltrate a Chinese restaurant where the menu is not exactly what it seems. With a fighting club being used to provide the meat for the dishes and the house...

Crazy, sexy and bloody hell of a dinner movie! That’s how they already describe the whole thing, but I’m not so sure what to think about this. First of all, Evil Feed is some strange mix of horror, action & martial arts. Which sounds great, but man – I totally hate the rest of the story ’cause if you loose a fight in that underground ring – they will simply serve you in the Chinese restaurant! Wtf?
Well, don’t ask me, Kimani Ray Smith is responsible for the whole thing. He directs the movie from a script he co-wrote with Aaron Au. Today we have some cool photos from this project to share with you, but they won’t fool me! I still think that the story is creepy enough to make me skip my dinner!
I mean, we have the Long Pig restaurant as the ultimate underground restaurant sensation.
