Welcome to Deadline’s International Disruptors, a feature where we shine a spotlight on key executives and companies outside of the U.S. who are shaking up the offshore marketplace. This week, we’re talking to Jordan Schwarzenberger, one of the founders of Arcade Media, a London-based management company that manages YouTube megastars the Sidemen. Schwarzenberger has used skills honed as an agent to help the group of creators move to new levels.
The Sidemen are, in their words, “a group of friends with a few videos online.” Those “few” videos have generated six billion views on YouTube, and spawned chicken shops, a vodka brand, hotel projects, clothes, and a film telling the story of how a group of friends who started out playing video games together became the biggest crew of digital creators in Europe. Their management company is Arcade Media, founded by Jordan Schwarzenberger, Aaron O’Neill and Sam Unwins.

The ceremony returns to an in-person event this year, having gone virtual in 2021, and is part of a busy weekend on the kudos gauntlet that also includes the BAFTA, Annie Awards and Critics Choice events.
This year in the motion pictures category, the group nominated Kenneth Branagh for “Belfast” (Focus Features), Jane Campion for “The Power of the Dog” (Netflix), Paul Thomas Anderson for “Licorice Pizza” (MGM/United Artists Releasing), Steven Spielberg for “West Side Story” (20th Century Studios) and Denis Villeneuve for “Dune” (Warner Bros).
Campion has already made history as the second woman ever to receive a second nod from the Directors Guild (following “The Piano” in 1993).

Jane Campion, Kenneth Branagh, Denis Villeneuve, Steven Spielberg and Paul Thomas Anderson have been nominated as the best directors of 2021 by the Directors Guild of America, the DGA announced on Thursday.

Guy Ritchie and Hugh Grant’s bond stretches back way farther than just their shared experiences in Hollywood — and they’ve got the photo to prove it.
The British stars joined forces to recreate a photo taken more than six decades ago that features both of their fathers serving side by side in the British Army.
Ritchie, 51, shared the original photo to Instagram in honor of Remembrance Day, which is celebrated on Nov. 11 by members of the Commonwealth, which includes the United Kingdom and Canada, to remember those who died in the line of duty. U.K.-based management firm the James Grant Group has been majority-acquired by private equity firm Trilantic Europe and rebranded as Ym&U. Trilantic becomes the majority shareholder in Ym&U in the wake of the deal, with the remainder held by management and employees. Jgg absorbed L.A.-based music agency Deckstar in 2017 and its clients include Blink-182, Steve Aoki, Morrissey, Rancid, Bush and 311; earlier this month, Ym&U acquired UK-based Machine Management, home to Clean Bandit, Years & Years and Mika.

Blu-Ray Rating: 3.0/5.0 Chicago – “Quantum of Solace,” the second Daniel Craig 007 movie after the earthquake to the franchise that was the brilliant “Casino Royale,” didn’t make quite the same waves in the action genre and left a few viewers dissatisfied but it still makes for a better-than-average action movie rental. Sadly, MGM continues to struggle a bit in the HD revolution, releasing a so-so Blu-Ray that won’t help the viewers who felt let down by the film in theaters.
If “Casino Royale” was the rock ‘n’ roll set that we knew this classic character was still capable of producing with the right star, script, and production team, “Quantum of Solace” is the encore. It may not be as purely satisfying, but it still rocks in its own way.
Quantum of Solace will be released on Blu-Ray on March 24th, 2009.
