Hot dog! A signature Playhouse Disney/Disney Junior animated series whose catchy opening and closing songs are likely engraved into the brain of every parent with children born in the 2000s, is coming back. Disney Junior has greenlighted Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 2.0 (working title), a new incarnation of its former flagship series, to premiere in 2025. The announcement was made by Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, during the “Disney Junior & Friends Playdate” event at the Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim.

Sure, the laser Pink Floyd show is totally awesome and the Beatles cover band totally nailed "Penny Lane." But after the rapturous response to the Tupac Shakur hologram at Coachella, you can be sure phones are ringing off the hook this week all over Hollywood with calls to the Digital Domain wizards behind the stunt.
Think of the possibilities: The Doors resurrected with a young Jim Morrison, Nirvana on tour with a virtual Kurt Cobain or a resurrected Tupac and Biggie sharing a stage for a greatest hits show. But does the success of the Tupac mini-set mean that holograms are the touring industry's version of 3-D movies?
"I thought it was great in that particular moment," said veteran manager Danny Goldberg, who has...

After months of promotion HBO's film on Sarah Palin and the 2008 campaign, Game Change, will air (finally) this weekend. Conservatives (including Palin, who has not seen the movie) claim that the film is completely unfair and mainly fiction, plus a valentine to Obama from Democratic Hollywood. But the filmmakers say it's (sadly) all fact, except that Julianne Moore plays Palin even better than Palin played Palin.
The only thing surprising to me is that anyone at this late date would be surprised by any embarrassing facts about Palin. The truth has been known almost within hours of McCain lifting her out of obscurity back at the end of August 2008. There even persists in some quarters (including elements of mainstream media) the fantasy that Palin actually boosted McCain and drew support from women voters, when the facts (and the polls) always ran in the opposite direction.
Rather than in retrospect, I...

Summer is the time to kick back at the pool, work on that tan and blast your favorite sprinkler jams, but it's also the season to pack into your Nissan Cube and tromp down to the local amphitheater or arena to check out shows by the likes of Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Foo Fighters, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and My Morning Jacket.
Just like movie studios roll out the big guns around the holidays in time to take a shot at Oscar gold, music stars know that summer is the best time to separate fans from their hard-earned babysitting and lifeguarding money. That's why local venues are stuffed up with a bumper crop of big shows packing enough pyro and...

Has everyone indulged in some Ben & Jerry’s this weekend? I’m still flying high from the deliciousness that was Thursday’s show, and the pure joy generated by Stephen, Jimmy, and Jon. Thank you guys for one of the happiest and funniest episodes ever. You looked like you were having loads of fun, and we did too. You are all definitely my sundae with the hot fudge and cherry on top.
Now let’s see what Stephen has in his ice cream dish for this week….

“Memories…in the corner of my mind. Misty watercolor memories….” The name that goes with a face, the place you left your keys, the right question to a Jeopardy answer: all these are things you might forget—but Joshua Foer won’t. Foer has become what is known as a “memory athlete,” someone who tests his skills at total recall in competitions,...

It has everything you could ever want in a federal criminal fraud trial. It has oodles of money. It has international intrigue. It has lavish spending. It has innocent victims. It has a prosecutor talking to jurors about the defendants’ “naked greed.” It has a tie to our nation’s soldiers and the gear they wear. And it has, in the person of David H. Brooks, a villain perfectly suited for the modern media era’s court of public opinion. It’s the year’s most entertaining trial you’ve probably never heard of. Why is that? Well, first, the showdown is taking place in the Eastern District of New York, in Central Islip, Suffolk County, and not in lower Manhattan, where the more famous federal courthouse is situated. Second, the Haitian tragedy has pulled resources away from coverage of domestic news. And, third, the story is a victim of...

50 Cent, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks and members of Aerosmith and The Eagles joined forces to create one of the year's greatest live line-ups at the weekend, when they played a private Bat Mitzvah celebration gig. Multi-millionaire David H. Brooks paid a reported $10 million to hire the artists to perform at his daughter Elizabeth's party at New York City venue The Rainbow Room. Brooks is said to have chartered his company jet to pick up Aerosmith rockers Steven Tyler and Joe Perry from their Saturday concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He reportedly paid the stars $2 million to play a 45-minute set, while 50 Cent is thought to have received $500,000. Petty wowed the gathering with an acoustic performance, while The Eagles stars Joe Walsh and Don Henley played alongside Fleetwood Mac singer Nicks. Other acts to perform at the extravagant event included Ciara, Nicole Richie's fiance DJ AM and saxophonist Kenny G. However, Brooks has denied the reported cost of the event. He told the New York Daily News, "All dollar figures vastly exaggerated. This was a private event and we do not wish to comment on details of the party."...
