We know President Barack Obama is seeking the youth vote, but we didn’t realize he would take on Justin Bieber to get it!
That’s right, another video mash-up of the president has surfaced, and this time Obama is singing Bieb’s latest hit, "Boyfriend."
High off the viral video success of his mash-up cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s "Call Me Maybe," the YouTuber known as barackdubs pieced together another hilarious clip, where Obama, in his deep and stoic voice, promises viewers that if he was their boyfriend, he would never let them go. Maybe sub in “boyfriend” for “president” and you get the hidden message? That’s probably reading too far into it, but the video should definitely boost his presence among the Beliebers.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen President Obama serenade the nation. Earlier this year, Obama dropped a...

While every dancer might think they have the moves, less than two dozen make it to the top 20 on the dance-competition series "So You Think You Can Dance." The path to that coveted spot requires a pass through the grueling callback auditions in Vegas, the first of which was underway on Wednesday night's episode.Hundreds of dancers pushed, pulled and injured their way into and out of the show, as they endured a week of intense choreography that tested their skills in all the major styles of dance featured on "Sytycd."The week began with solos, graduated to group routines and culminated with 35 dancers making it to the final week before the top 20 announcement. Fans have waited eight years for a third Diplomats album, what's another few months? If Jim Jones has his way, the long-awaited Diplomatic Immunity 3 will be out by the end of the year. "Real soon; might be the fourth quarter," the Dipset Capo said when he appeared on "RapFix Live" on June 13.
Long after the group broke up, Jim, Cam'ron, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey announced two years ago that they would be coming back together and dropping a new album. The crew did reunite onstage this past weekend as Drake's special guests during his concert at Jones Beach in New York, but the LP is still a ways off.

There were high expectations going into the Georgia auditions for season nine of "So You Think You Can Dance" since Atlanta is home to season-eight winner Melanie Moore. Although has already seen a diverse range of personalities, Georgia dancers exuded an infectious charisma that was heightened by the pairing of some unique dance styles. Facebook co-founder celebrates two grand achievements by making his company public and marrying longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan.

President Obama is no stranger to hip-hop's support. Not only have MCs dedicated songs to the 44th U.S. Prez, but guys like Jay-z, Diddy and Ludacris have openly backed Barack. While many criticized Obama for his support of same-sex marriage, Hov backs him, and so does T.I.
"Just to speak honestly and being frank, I don't care," the "Live Your Life" Mc said about the non-stop debate on same-sex marriage when he appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live." Jay Sean knows how to keep it in the family. The Cash Money family, that is. He has worked with its heavy hitters Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj and can now add Tyga to his roster of A-list collabos. The labelmates have teamed up for the seductively titled track "Sex 101" off Jay's latest studio album, Worth It All.
"One of the first things I noticed when I joined Cash Money was that they don't work with just anyone, they really don't," the pop crooner told MTV News, expressing gratitude for the support he has received from his extended family. Before Nicki Minaj catapulted to stardom, she jumped on his song "2012," as Wayne did with "Down," the club banger that broke the U.

Four years ago, when Scarface dropped Emeritus, he said it would be the last album in a long, illustrious career that included well-regarded works like 1994's The Diary, 1997's The Untouchable and 2002's The Fix. But just like Jay-z, Too $hort and other MCs who have pledged to walk away from rap, the Houston lyricist just couldn't stay away.
Face's follow-up Rooted is on the way, and when the former Geto Boy moseyed up to on Wednesday, he firmly replanted his hip-hop flag. Rap retirement is clearly a foregone feeling, as the man born Brad Jordan breaks down the significance of his new album title. "It's just a structure that's gonna be there.

So the longtime friends have decided to give the people an entire album's worth. The Houston rap legend estimates that the album will be out sometime next year, but when he swung through "RapFix Live" this week, he gave an update on the LP and then fumbled around for his iPhone to let the Broad Street Bully tell it himself.

For those unfamiliar with Purrp's catalog, in 2011 he released a song called "F--- Taylor Gang," on which he rapped, "This ain't no Wiz, so f--- a Khalifa." The song didn't hit Wiz's radar at first, but the Purrp-produced A$AP Rocky track "Pretty Flacko" did. "I love that beat. Throughout his career, Nas has worked with some of the most celebrated hip-hop producers from Dr. Dre and DJ Premier to the Trackmasters and Swizz Beatz, but for his next LP, Life Is Good, Esco chose to keep the vibe more intimate.
"I wanted to work on a record where it's just not a lot of people," Nas said when he appeared on "RapFix Live" on Wednesday. "So it's mostly No I.D., Saalam Remi, Da Internz; those are the ones who basically gave me the music. They knew what I wanted; they sat with me."

They were rap's royal couple. Nas and Kelis jumped the broom in 2005 after a courtship that included video cameos and public declarations of love.
But the split between the rap legend and his R&B wife four years later was just as public and all too ugly. As the expectant "Milkshake" singer accused her husband of abandoning her mid-pregnancy in legal filings, allegations of infidelity burned up the blogs.
Things got "crazy," the pride of Queensbridge, New York, said on Wednesday's "RapFix Live." The divorce thrust Nas into the New York tabloids, where he was alternately painted as the victim of a gold-digging star and a cheater who callously hid the...

Speculation over what happened the night of February 26 when 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was tragically shot dead continues to run rampant. On Wednesday, police surveillance video emerged showing the gunman, George Zimmerman, in handcuffs. The fact that he wasn't charged with a crime that night and was release has fueled a public outcry for justice.
Among the outraged are rappers Killer Mike and Mobb Deep's Prodigy, who both appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live" to discuss Trayvon's death.
Killer Mike called the shooting "an assassination." "He was killed by a terrorist; there is no other way to put it," Mike said, as he and "RapFix" host Sway wore...

If you want to know Nas' take on his multimillion-dollar tax woes, then you'll have to buy his new album. In February, TMZ reported that Queensbridge Mc owes more than $6 million in back taxes, and now the Internal Revenue Service plans to garnish wages earned from his music publishing until things are even Steven.
Ever the wordsmith, Nas got creative with his "no comment" comment when he appeared on "RapFix Live" on Wednesday. "My side of the story is on the record and I speak about it on the record," he said of how he plans to address his tax troubles on his upcoming Life Is Good LP.

Justin Bieber is standing behind his girl. Carly Rae Jepsen made her first major U.S. talk-show appearance on Friday's (March 23) "Ellen DeGeneres Show," and she brought quite the surprise with her: Bieber himself and an exclusive preview of his song "Boyfriend."
Ellen began the segment attempting to read an intro for Jepsen, the 26-year-old Canadian singer who won the hearts of pop enthusiasts with her catchy, upbeat single "Call Me Maybe" but was interrupted by an eruption of screaming girls who caught sight of a black-and-yellow-clad Justin Bieber. The young heartthrob took the opportunity to introduce Jepsen, whom he recently signed to his Schoolboy Records label. He had been making a public Twitter bid to Ellen to have...

It's been 11 years since Mystikal's last album, but when his 2012 album Original finally does drop, the energetic bounce master promises that he will deliver in a big way.
"I'm telling you, this album is gonna be so well worth the wait, Sway, believe that," Mystikal told MTV News' Sway Calloway on Wednesday's "RapFix Live."
The truth is, even if it wasn't "worth the wait," would a rapper really say otherwise? Mystikal acknowledged that his boasts may seem cliché, but that "those who know who I am know that I mean that."
Mystikal was released from prison in 2010 after a six-year bid and has been balancing music with his family life.

Carly Rae Jepsen has suddenly found herself in the big leagues. Justin Bieber recently signed the YouTube pop starlet to his Schoolboy Records label, much like his mentor, Usher, helped catapult him into superstardom when the R&B icon took Bieber under his wing.
It all started when Bieber tweeted, "Call me maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen is possibly the catchiest song I've ever heard," creating an immediate runaway hit of the track off Jepsen's Ep Curiosity. And now, a music video spoof of the song, featuring heavy pop hitters like Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and, of course, Bieber, has likely made "Call Me Maybe" the song of the season.

"For six years, I was looking up. The only people that were under me were people that were deceased — that's kind of how you feel," the fiery New Orleans Mc told "RapFix Live" host Sway Calloway on the show Wednesday (March 14). "To come home and be with the #1 rap label? Come on."
Mystikal describes the experience as humbling. His "Original" music video, featuring Lil Wayne and Birdman, has already clocked in more than 6 million views on WorldStarHipHop.

Music producer, songwriter and singer The-Dream recently stopped by "RapFix Live" to discuss his latest projects and his experiences working with some of the industry's most-talented divas. While running down his list of collaborations, Mr. Terius Nash revealed that it was he who reached out to reality star Kim Kardashian last year to create the single "Jam (Turn It Up)."
It seems like the Kardashians have their stamp on everything these days — from diet pills to primetime guest spots on sitcoms, to their own clothing line — so it wasn't a stretch to assume that mom, Kris Jenner, would push her children into another project that could potentially amass millions for the Kardashian trademark.

Hip-hop was built on sampling. Beat breaks from old-school records like the Honeydrippers' soul classic "Impeach the President" and the Incredible Bongo Band's 1973 version of "Apache" have become the basis for a number of notable rap records.
As essential as sampling is to hip-hop culture, it is also a vital part of the music business, and utilizing an unauthorized sample can be costly to an artist. Tyga had to learn the hard way when he failed to clear a sample of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech for the title track of his Careless World: The Rise of the Last King LP.
