I first covered director Suki Singh’s drama “Emulsion” way back in the year that was 2010. The trailer for the flick was simply incredible, and it managed to stick with me over the years. Despite stuffing my brain with clips and previews from around the world on a daily basis, I often wondered what in the hell happened to Singh’s flick. Thankfully, the director has been hard at work putting the final pieces together. Not surprisingly, the experience was well worth the wait. Simply put, “Emulsion” is a jaw-droppingly gorgeous film. The entire film is visually arresting, with rich colors and deep shadows decorating every single frame. There’s never a moment when something colorful isn’t distracting you from the story. Even when things are gritty, there’s so much detail in the grime that you’ll forgive the film’s deliberate pacing. It’s ridiculous how beautiful it is.

Tagline: "Last night he dreamt that somebody loved him." It has been awhile since there has been any news on Suki Singh's Emulsion. Two teasers have been released for this production in 2011 and 2012, respectively. Now White Lantern Film has released a second poster for the film, featuring star Sam Heughan with actress Claudia Bassols. Emulsion is a neo-noir styled feature that focuses on a lost romance. Ronny's (Heughan) wife , Isabella (Claudia Bassols), has disappeared and a host of unsavoury types are standing in his way. Actor Mem Ferda plays Egor, one of several men who want to hide the truth of his wife's disappearance. Ferda says of the film's style and story: "Emulsion has a definite Lynchian quality and a distinct cinematic style, which sets it apart from other thrillers." The trailer below shows some of the film's mysterious styles. And, a release date for Emulsion is expected soon.

I’ve been waiting to hear more from the “Emulsion” front for a while now, and just when I was about to give up hope, director Suki Singh sent over this spiffy new teaser trailer for his noir-inspired mystery. And while the setup is simple — a man’s quest to locate his missing woman sends him spiraling into a stylishly violent landscape peppered with all sorts of intriguing characters — Singh brings enough visual luster to the project to make it worthy of your attention. But don’t take my word for it, you lazy roustabout. Take a peek at the trailer I’ve included below and determine for yourself if this is as cool as I think it is. If you’re hungry for more info, visit the film’s official website. function getVideo() { var so = new SWFObject("http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/xplayer/yo033.swf?clip_id=292901", "mplayer", "590", "375", "8", "#000000"); so.

We've been tracking Suki Singh's noir film Emulsion for some time and were pretty impressed with the first trailer for the film which was much more polished and swanky than any of us had expected.
The story of a man whose wife goes missing from a parkade, he becomes obsessed with finding out what happened to her, visiting the spot of her disappearance on a daily basis, monitoring the comings and goings in search of clues. He's there so often the company who manages the car park security hires him and it's while he's working a shift that he spots a local prostitute being abducted. He follows the car into which the prostitute is dragged, in hopes that perhaps it has some connection to his wife's disappearance, but the answers don't come easy and in this trailer, they don't seem to come at all.

I’m still incredibly wet behind the ears when it comes to the fascinating world of cinematic noir, and I still have so much to learn about the genre. Regardless of my self-proclaimed ignorance on the subject, I know what I like, and I really like the cryptically stylish new teaser for writer/director Suki Singh’s forthcoming noir “Emulsion”. The story itself may sound pedestrian — a man searches endlessly for his missing wife — but Singh’s execution of the material certainly sets the film apart from other like-minded endeavors. I’m getting a strong David Lynch meets Christopher Nolan vibe from the embedded trailer, though that just might be me jumping to conclusions based on a clip that’s barely a minute long. Instead of pontificating further, I’ll let you be the judge. Thanks to Quiet Earth for showing me the way.

Director Suki Singh (Spotters) has released his first trailer for Emulsion. The clip is very Lynch-esque, with surreal shots of two separated lovers. The clip is just over a minute long and if you like your thrillers with a little bit of style, then you will enjoy this clip. All the details on Emulsion are below.
*Note: there is a UK release date, but no North American confirmed release.

I've been following Suki Singh for a couple of years ever since I found out about his planned film Analogue, a thriller where murder is solved using bits of sound, and since that got pushed off till next year, he filmed this in the meantime. We first reported on this in June and Suki just sent me the teaser this morning, and I have to say, it blew me out of the water, so enjoy.

Emulsion Alt PosterAs well as a second darkened poster, more exclusive production details are coming this way on Suki Singh's kidnap thriller Emulsion. The latest news reveals that British actor Mem Ferda (Revolver, The Devil's Double) makes a cameo appearance as a cockney gangster Egor, as well as being on board as an executive producer. In a recent interview Ferda revealed that it was wonderful to play a character with a London based accent: "I often play Eastern European gangsters, so it was very refreshing when director Suki suggested that I play Egor, with an accent closer to my way of natural speaking" (see Mem as Egor below). Other cast members include Sam Heugan (Young Alexander the Great), Claudia Bassols (Paintball), and Lex Shrapnel (Flyboys). The film will be released in 2011. More info' on this crime thriller is below, along with the Emulsion homepage for more details.

While I've been eagerly awaiting Suki Singh's psychological thriller Analogue, where they solve murder by sound, they've been busy on another production called Emulsion which is also a psychological thriller and a noir. My gut tells me this cat has some serious talent, and while we don't have a trailer yet, there are some stills available on the official website. Now check out this synopsis:
