- André Acquart was born on November 22, 1922 in Vincennes, Seine [now Val-de-Marne], France. He was a costume designer and production designer, known for Werther (1980) and Pour le plaisir (1964). He was married to Barbara Rychlowska. He died on June 4, 2016 in France.

He often worked also with his wife costume designer Barbara Rychlowska. His work was the subject of an exhibition at France's Bibliothèque Narionale old building Richelieu in 2006.
