The UK gameshow revival continues apace.
Having already put high-profile reboots of Big Brother, Jeopardy and Deal or No Deal back into production, ITV is now reviving iconic gameshow Wheel of Fortune, helmed by UK TV stalwart Graham Norton.
Sony-owned Whisper North, which is also producing Stephen Fry-hosted Jeopardy, will make an eight-part run including two celebrity specials.
Wheel of Fortune aired beween 1988 and 2001 on ITV, generating something of a cult following alongside the original U.S. version, which has aired non-stop for nearly 50 years. Yesterday, it was revealed that Ryan Seacrest will take over from Pat Sajak as host of the U.S. show’s 42nd season. The UK version was hosted by the likes of Nicky Campbell and Bradley Walsh during its initial run.

Stephen Fry will host a U.K. version of hit U.S. quiz format “Jeopardy!,” which will air on ITV1 and streamer Itvx this fall.
Produced by Whisper North, the 20 x 60’ episode series will see contestants using their general knowledge to win rounds and continue amassing winnings, the longer they stay in the game. The new show will allow participants to play an extra round compared to the original format.
Fry said: “In the United States, ‘Jeopardy!’ is a phenomenon like no other. Whenever I’m in America, I do my damnedest to catch it every weekday. The idea of hosting it here in the U.K. makes me dizzy with delight. Such a dedicated quizzing nation as ours will, I hope, welcome this uniquely beguiling and endlessly rewarding game.”
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV head of entertainment, added: “Bringing ‘Jeopardy!’ to a brand new audience as part of our weekday schedule is exciting.

Fellow insomniacs, our moment is here. Craig Ferguson, the hilarious former host of "The Late Late Show," is apparently getting back into the late-night game, per Deadline. The outlet is reporting that for the first time since he left the CBS show in 2014, Ferguson is working on a new syndicated late-night project, this time for Sony Pictures Television. The show, titled "Channel Surf with Craig Ferguson," reportedly shot a pilot episode in the UK earlier this month.
"Channel Surf" sounds like it'll take a different approach to the format that Ferguson so skillfully played around with during the last iteration of his late-night career. This time around, the show is set to be just 30 minutes long and will feature Ferguson and friends reviewing some of the biggest TV moments of the week. This may sound a bit like the now-ended E! Series "The Soup," but rest assured, Ferguson has something else in mind.

Craig Ferguson, the comic who anchored CBS’ “Late Late Show” for nine years, is hoping to make a return to wee-hours programming.
Sony Pictures Television aims to launch a new half-hour syndicated late-night talk show led by Ferguson in the fall. “Channel Surf with Craig Ferguson” will review “the shocking, surprising and hilarious moments of the week’s shows,” joined by friends and guest stars. A pilot was shot in the U.K. this month, and Sony Pictures Television will take the show out to potential buyers this week in Los Angeles.
“With a shortage of sitcoms available for stations, viewers need a place to laugh. ‘Channel Surf’ is that perfect show,” said Zack Hernandez, senior vice president of US syndication sales for Sony Pictures Television, in a statement. “Craig is an extraordinary talent who has excelled in late night, daytime and primetime and has incredibly high awareness. Viewers know and love him.

ITV has announed they have commissioned a one-off wrestling special to air later this year. Produced by ITV Studios Entertainment, World Of Sport Wrestling, or WoS Wrestling for short, is a throw back to the classic wrestling programming of the 70s and early 80s (a show I grew up on pre-wwf/WCW days) and will see some of the UK’s top names in the sport compete in a fun-filled afternoon of family sports entertainment.

World of Sport Wrestling was a major event for millions of families every Saturday afternoon for over 20 years. I’m excited about bringing back this iconic brand and celebrating the best British wrestlers in the country.

ITV has announced a debate show that will air in the run up to the UK's General Election.
Journalist James O'Brien will present the programme, which will focus on two major topics affecting Britain today in each episode.
The expert panel featuring in each episode, will feature political figures, journalists, celebrities, campaigners and a member of the public.
The audience will be involved in the debate and will include people with strong views and experiences on the topics being discussed.
O'Brien said: "I hate the way politicians have started banging on about 'ordinary people' recently. There's no such thing.
"Everyone's extraordinary in their own way, with extraordinary stories to tell and passionate opinions informed by their experiences and what's in the news. I can't wait to start listening to them."
Executive producer for ITV Studios, Tom McLennan added: "The series will provide a platform to discuss the topics that really matter to viewers at home.
