Even though the Blair Witch film franchise hasn’t been among the most exploited in the horror genre, the influence it’s had is undeniable. Seriously, I can remember when the first flick debuted in cinemas back in 1999, simultaneously becoming a cultural phenomenon and being one of those to spearhead the “found footage” movement. That’s right kids, you pretty much owe this baby a debt of gratitude if you enjoy anything with “Paranormal Activity” in the title.
But, like I said, this series wasn’t dragged out to the degree that others such as Saw or the aforementioned Paranormal Activity were. Instead, the two sequels – one arrived in 2000, with the other not arriving until 2016 – were spread far apart, but there were a handful of faux documentaries that dropped in between, thus keeping the legend alive.
With that, we invite you to journey back into the woods, because Lionsgate is...

Mark Hamill, who is best known as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga, is launching a pop culture digital series on Comic-Con HQ called Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest. The actor will also serve as a producer on the series which is described as a documentary-style show featuring stories about passionate fans and their collections.
As you probably already know, Hamill is a big time collector of stuff like comic books, toys, lunch boxes, puppets, and artwork. He’s been collecting since the early 1970’s so he really passionate about this kind of thing. The actor said in a statement:
“I’ve been a collector all my life. This show is a natural outgrowth of that passion. Now I have an opportunity to collect other people’s collections! I can’t wait to see what’s out there and share it with the world.”

Since the announcement of Comic-Con HQ, the coming streaming platform from Comic-Con International and Lionsgate, we’ve all been wondering what exactly they’ll be streaming. We know they will be streaming Hall H panels from the convention, but what other programming will the paid subscription service be offering? Well, the first answer is Con Man, the web series from Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion.
Comic-Con HQ will be the exclusive home of season one of the crowdfunded series beginning this June, with a second season coming this fall. If you are not familiar with the series, here’s a synopsis:
“Loosely based on Tudyk’s and Fillion’s experiences starring in Firefly, Con Man centers on the post-show life of Wray Nerely (Tudyk), the co-star of “Spectrum,” a sci-fi TV series canceled before its time that later became a cult classic beloved by fans. Wray’s best friend, Jack Moore...

Last month it was announced that Comic-Con International had teamed up Lionsgate to created a new streaming video service for Comic-Con called Comic-Con HQ. When I went to WonderCon, I talked to one of the people at the Comic-Con HQ booth about the service, and I asked if they would be steaming Hall H panels. The guy told me no because they wanted to keep that experience for the hardcore Comic-Con fans. Well, it looks like they changed their minds.
In an interview with /Film, General Manager of the Comic-Con HQ app Seth Laderman said that fans would in fact be able to watch the big panels that take place in Hall H. That's where you get the biggest and most exciting announcements from the event. But, there's a catch — the panels won't be streamed live. Laderman explained:

We're certainly living in quite a different world than we were even eight years ago. The times are ending when folks attending a convention will be able to keep the experience completely to themselves. With today's technology, taking that experience to someone in their living room is now very possible.
According to Slashfilm, Comic-Con International is less than a month away from releasing a subscription service wherein the user will have access to panels at Comic-Con. This service is called Comic-Con HQ.
But just how extensive is this? Will the user be able to check out full panels?
“That is the big question,” Seth Laderman, General Manager of Comic-Con HQ, said.
“The short answer is yes. We’re going to be working with every single studio, every single panel host to be able to take the content and put it on our platform. We’re not going to be live...

Lionsgate and Comic-Con International have teamed up to create a new video-on-demand streaming platform called Comic-Con HQ.
Last year, they announced that Comic-Con HQ was in the works and yesterday, word came out that a free beta for the streaming service will debut May 7, and the full version will be released sometime in June. The cost of the service is unknown at this time. Hopefully, this will give them enough time to work everything out before the main event in San Diego actually begins in July.
Here are some definite features the service will provide: original series (scripted and unscripted), with one of those being the series Kings of Con; two roundtable discussion shows, one featuring female perspective of pop culture; and a 1:1 interview series from Adam Sessler (X-Play).
As for coverage of the con, not much has been verified as to what the service will actually host. We...

A new streaming service is coming over the summer, when Lionsgate and the people behind Comic-Con join forces to create Cchq! The result sounds a lot like a former cable TV channel. Come inside for more details.
For those of you new to the cable scene, there was once a TV channel dedicated to nerds. It was known as G4. G4 housed a plethora of amazing shows like the original Japanese Ninja Warrior, X Play, and Attack of the Show. After some epic years, the channel was cancelled and changed to Esquire, which is still a good channel but anywhere near as great as G4. Now, it seems like Lionsgate and Comic-con are coming together to form something very similar.
Below is the complete Press Release of the service!
