- Bananarama is known for You Don't Mess with the Zohan (2008), Youth in Revolt (2009) and Rain Man (1988).
- In 1981, Banarama was formed as an all-girl trio consisting of Siobhan Fahey, Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward.
- In April 2017, they announced they were reuniting, which attracted considerable mainstream media attention, including interviews for the BBC on Breakfast (2000) and The One Show (2006).
- The girl band's love of partying during the 1980s apparently provided some inspiration for the British sitcom Absolutely Fabulous (1992) after its star/writer Jennifer Saunders had accompanied them on some of their vodka-fueled binges.
- Siobhan Fahey left the group in 1988. She was replaced by Jacquie O'Sullivan.
