Omnilab Media managing director Christopher Mapp is one of the 12 new additions to the list of ‘Ambassadors’ for the inaugural ScreenSingapore event and market.
Other Australian Ambassadors include Rgm’s Devesh Chetty, Icon Productions’ Bruce Davey, Hoyts’ Delfin Fernandez, Golden Village’s David Glass, Ahl’s David Seargeant and Village Roadshow’s Robert Kirby.
ScreenSingapore has been conceived by the Singapore Media Development Authority as an international cinema event offering policy makers, industry buyers, sellers, producers and creative talent from all over the world a platform to exchange ideas, business opportunities and showcase their product. It will include an entertainment trade/technology market, premieres of upcoming Asian and Us releases, conferences, masterclasses and workshops.
Screen Singapore will be held from June 5-12.

Hong Kong -- Asia's film executives can be forgiven for arriving in Santa Monica a little exhausted, and it's not just the 16-hour jetlag.
Many recently have trekked from Pusan to the Tokyo festival and market, and some even added a few days at last week's China Film Group-organized Beijing Screenings. Despite that, most arriving at the American Film Market are expecting to do business.
Pusan and Tokyo's Tiffcom effectively were warm-up events before the main show, and both were better attended than last fall, when the severity of the global financial meltdown was making itself felt.
Since then, Asian economies have largely recovered, boxoffice has proved resilient and local and regional films have shown themselves capable of being financed and prebought within the region. Further intra-Asian business is definitely on the Afm agenda this week.

Troma Entertainment president Lloyd Kaufman has been re-elected to a second two-year term as chairman of the Independent Film & Television Alliance, the 150-member trade group comprising indie film and TV producers.
Kaufman vowed to continue his efforts on behalf of such issues as net neutrality, which is before the FCC.
Also elected to two-year terms on IFTA's executive committee were Imagination Worldwide's Pierre David, named general vice chairperson, and Summit Entertainment's Brad Kembel, vice chairperson/secretary.
They join Roger Corman, Avi Lerner, Albert Lee and Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard Rose, the exec committee members who are continuing in their two-year terms.
