Hard rock veterans Kix have announced their retirement following one final concert on September 17th at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. It will be a hometown sendoff for the band, which formed in Maryland in 1977.
Frontman Steve Whiteman revealed the news while performing onstage at that very venue on Sunday (May 7th) at part of the M3 Rock Festival. Tickets for the final show go on sale Tuesday (May 9th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. If the concert sells out, fans can also look for tickets via StubHub, where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.
“We’ve decided that after 45 years of doing this, I think we’re gonna call it a career,” Whiteman told the audience [as transcribed by Blabbermouth]. “Not tonight. We’re gonna do a show here September 17th. It’s been a long, long, long road. And my health is failing. [nm3161318 autoKix...

Sweet & Lynch (Stryper singer Michael Sweet and longtime Dokken guitarist George Lynch) have announced their third collaborative album, Heart & Sacrifice, due out May 19th. Ahead of the release date, the duo have offered up the lead single “You’ll Never Be Alone.”
The track showcases the proven talent of both Sweet and Lynch. The singer’s arena-ready vocals are upfront and full of bravado, while the guitarist lays down the chunky riffs and incendiary lead playing that he is known for in Dokken and his own group, The Lynch Mob.
“I’m very pleased with the outcome of the new Sweet & Lynch album Heart & Sacrifice,” Sweet remarked via a press release. “It’s diverse, complex, and flows beautifully. Every song has something to say in its own unique way.”
Added Sweet regarding his latest collab alongside Lynch: “George has always been one of my favorite players and it’s an honor to work with him again.

A Sacramento judge has ruled that alleged Golden State Killer Joseph DeAngelo, 73, cannot afford a private defense attorney and will continue to be represented by a public defender. At a hearing on Thursday, December 6th, Sacramento Superior Court Judge Michael Sweet declared that DeAngelo is indigent after reviewing his financial assets, which include several automobiles, a motorcycle and a home in Citrus Heights, the Sacramento suburb where he’s accused of raping several victims.
“It will take an extraordinary amount of resources to litigate the charges in this case,” Sweet said.

The Horror-on- Sea Festival is Southend’s annual horror event, which showcases the talents of Independent filmmakers, through shorts and features over two weekends. This is the 6th year it has been running and this is my review of the festivals second weekend
Day 1: Friday 26th January – Double Feature 19:00pm
Feature – Mortuary Massacre
When Detective Giger (Todd Brown) attends a mortuary regarding several mysterious deaths which occurred on Halloween night, the local Mortician (Carl Crew) describes the backstory of three of the victims. Christopher James Miller delivers an experimental horror film which has some surreal visual shots to get into the psyche of the characters. Utilising his experience in special effects, this is one for the gore hounds, with plenty of visual gore, which is delivered with plenty of tongue and cheek humour.
Short – Unto Death
In this powerful and moving gothic drama in which a priest begins...

Christian metal band Stryper has announced plans for a 25th Anniversary Tour, hitting 50 cities in North America this fall. Though dates and venues have not yet been confirmed but the band plans to go international in January and February 2010.
The Orange county, CA rockers will promote their upcoming studio album "Murder by Pride" that will be released in July. The tour, which launches in September, will be a two-set show with the first set consisting of new material with the band's current bassist Tracy Ferrie.
The second set will feature older favorites with the band's original line-up -- Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, Oz Fox and original bassist Tim Gaines.
"After recently learning about how precious life is and how often we take for granted the time that we have here on earth, I realized that this tour may very well be the most important tour in the history of Stryper,...

Classic rockers Boston are to tour again a year after the death of frontman Brad Delp.
Former Stryper singer Michael Sweet will join the More Than A Feeling hitmakers when they embark on a 42-date North American tour this summer.
Delp committed suicide last March.
Also joining band founder Tom Scholz on tour will be superfan Tommy DeCarlo, who wowed the group when he posted his own Boston covers on his MySpace internet page.
