Laura Whitmore is approximately 5 feet 6 ½ inches (168.9 cm). She is a well-known Irish TV presenter, recognized for her roles on “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here,” MTV Europe, and her participation in season 14 of “Strictly Come Dancing.”

Height Controversy
There has been some discrepancy regarding her height. She claimed to be 5 feet 8 inches tall on her Twitter profile, but on her Spotlight Acting Resume, her height was 5 feet 6 inches (167 cm).

Nick Offerman has been a bit of an Emmys bridesmaid so far, as the versatile actor has been nominated three times in his career but failed to turn any of them into cold, hard wins he can put on his shelf. This year, he earned his fourth nomination — and, surprisingly, his first one as an actor. He was nominated for Best Drama Guest Actor for HBO’s hugely successful video-game adaptation “The Last of Us.”
In the show, Offerman appears as Bill in episode three — “Long, Long Time.” Perhaps the most emotional episode of the entire series, Offerman is front and center of the drama and truly gets a chance to show off his acting chops. Bill lives a solitary life on his compound when the epidemic breaks out. But his uneasy quiet is disturbed when Murray Bartlett‘s Frank stumbles upon the land. Bill is reluctant to help the...

Murray Bartlett is having a very special moment. After winning his first Emmy last year, the actor has followed up that victory with not one but two nominations this year as he looks to continue his hot streak. One of those bids this year is for Best Movie/Limited Series Supporting Actor for “Welcome to Chippendales,” while his second comes for HBO’s drama “The Last of Us,” which amassed a whopping 25 Emmy bids. Specifically, Bartlett was nominated for Best Drama Guest Actor for his emotional role as Frank in episode three of the show.
That episode, titled “Long, Long Time,” was touted as one of the very best in the entire series and was certainly the most heartbreaking. The episode flashes back to Frank leaving Baltimore as the epidemic spread. Soon after, he stumbles across a protected compound belonging to Nick Offerman‘s Bill, who, at first, is reluctant...

Dr. Simone Whitmore is not afraid to say how she feels. This is true whether it’s dealing with the other strong-minded ladies of Married to Medicine or within the ever-changing dynamic of the household. It’s a trait that has carried her through during the last decade on the Bravo reality series. For Season 10, one of the show’s longest-tenured OGs has found her husband Cecil isn’t on the same page when it comes to their sons Michael and Miles. Whitmore is tired of the coddling and feeling of entitlement felt by the boys. She wants her nest empty, which may mean giving a little bit more tough love. However, Cecil might be standing in the way of that causing a clash of parenting styles. If that weren’t enough, the board-certified Obgyn may be in the middle of a civil war brewing among the fellow ladies. Here...

NCIS has been on the air since 2003. In 2023, the directors, executive producers, and creators got together to discuss the long-lasting police procedural television series that fans know and love — and the truth about their personalities came out. One director said that co-creator Don Bellisario was so “volatile” that he almost didn’t work with him in NCIS.
Director James Whitmore said he initially refused to work with co-creator Don Bellisario on ‘NCIS’
NCIS executive producers and directors have a lot of opinions about co-creator Don Bellisario. Bellisario shaped the show into what it is today, and he was able to make tough decisions to create a riveting series with memorable characters. While the show couldn’t exist without Bellisario, he was known for being notoriously hard to work with. Director James Whitmore told The Hollywood Reporter that Bellisario’s “volatile” personality nearly made him not want to work on NCIS.

Former “Love Island” presenter Laura Whitmore is tackling some controversial issues in her new show for U.K. streamer Itvx.
The three-part series “Laura Whitmore Investigates” sees Whitmore travel within the U.K., Europe and the U.S. In one episode, Whitmore investigates toxic masculinity with a focus on the subculture of involuntary celibates, or incels, a male-dominated, misogynistic online world where alienated males who struggle to engage with women share their anti-female mindsets, developing communities around their resentment.
Another episode explores how changing attitudes to sex in Britain have seen Bdsm become a multi-billion industry with more and more people experimenting, particularly with the act of choking during sex. The episode examines the influence of pornography as well as looking into the rise of the so-called “50 Shades” defense, whereby men accused of murdering their sexual partner claim the death was caused by rough sex that went wrong.

President Joe Biden touched King Charles III’s arm during a meeting at Windsor Castle in a move not unlike Michelle Obama with Queen Elizabeth II years earlier. Similar to the queen and the former first lady, the gesture has received much attention. Some experts say the president’s greeting wasn’t an etiquette slip-up. Rather, it’s being dubbed a “sign of friendship.”

The Advertising Standards Authority (Asa) has banned social media posts from Laura Whitmore promoting an alcohol brand for being inappropriately targeted.
In July, the former Love Island host shared a post on Instagram and TikTok of her dancing while drinking peppermint tea, water and beer.
Whitmore then drank a beverage from drinks brand The Muff Liquor Company – of which she is an investor – and danced energetically.
The hashtag “#makemineamuff” featured in both the video and caption, the latter reading: “If drinks were dance moves muffliquorco #muffboss #irishowned.”
A complaint was made by a social media user who knew that Whitmore had invested in the company. They questioned whether the ads were obviously identifiable as marketing communications, and were inappropriately targeted because they featured alcoholic drinks, as they implied alcohol could improve your mood and enhance confidence.

Bridge of the Doomed certainly can’t be accused of being a slow burn. Within the first few minutes, an army base comes under attack, and a group of civilians is overrun and eaten by zombies. And there’s no hesitation to put the bloody results on the screen. This is the zombie apocalypse 80s style, except it isn’t badly dubbed into English.
After the opening attack, General Vasquez sends a squad led by Lt Whitmore and Sgt. Hernandez to hold a bridge or destroy it in necessary, while they wait for reinforcements to arrive. Getting those reinforcements falls to the ominously named Colonel Charon.

"Independence Day" was not always going to be the title of Roland Emmerich's 1996 mega-blockbuster movie. Over the German director's four decade-plus career, he's been partial to single-word titles like "Godzilla," "2012," and most recently, sci-fi disaster extravaganza "Moonfall." When it came time to tell the story of the mighty resistance to a global alien attack, the title was going to refer to the first offensive and not the Earthlings' counterattack; the studio wanted to call the movie "Doomsday" (not to be confused with Neil Marshall's 2008 post-apocalyptic action picture of the same name).
Bill Pullman stars in the film as one of the great movie Commanders-In-Chief, President Thomas J. Whitmore. It's on Whitmore's watch that the alien warships converge over Earth's major cities and blow most of them to smithereens. Though he's forced to flee to Nevada's Area 51, Whitmore commands a final counterattack with the remaining fighter jets available.

This week on DC’s Stargirl, as everyone dealt with the aftermath of The Melee at the Mahkent House, Pat and Sylvester schooled everyone on a new foe and the Blue Valley voyeur was unmasked — for better or for worse.
In the wake of the big fight last week, Pat and Sylvester tried to make nice with Grandpa Mahkent after he got released from the hospital. Sofus maintained that “there is no coming back” (at least for his wife) from their son being murdered, so he advised Pat to take his family far away from Blue Valley before anyone else gets hurt.

Exclusive: Philip Glenister and Steffan Rhodri are to front a factual-based drama for the BBC.
Filming on Steeltown Murders (working title) has begun in and around South Wales, with Life on Mars and State Play actor Glenister and Gavin and Stacey and In My Skin‘s Rhodri in the lead roles as Dci Paul Bathell and Phil ‘Bach’ Rees. Ed Whitmore (Manhunt) is the writer.
Severn Screen, one of the co-producers on ITV’s high rating 2021 series The Pembrokeshire Murders, is producing in association with All3Media International.
The four part-drama is set in both 1973 and the early 2000s, contrasting the policing methods of the 1970s with the forensic breakthroughs of the early Noughties. It centers on the hunt to catch the killer of three young women in Port Talbot, Wales, and the how the mystery — the first case of its kind — was solved 30 years after the crimes thanks to pioneering DNA evidence.

“Love Island” has found its new host in broadcaster Maya Jama.
Jama, who has presented “Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star” and used to anchor a show for BBC Radio 1, will take over “Love Island” hosting duties early next year when the series returns for its winter edition, set in South Africa. It will be the ninth series of the show.
Previous host Laura Whitmore stepped down earlier this year to pursue other projects. Fans had criticized Whitmore for her rare appearances on the reality dating show, although she also hosted spin-off “Love Island: Aftersun.”
Jama becomes the third “Love Island” host in three years after its original host, Caroline Flack, died by suicide in 2020 after she was charged with assaulting her partner.
“Love Island,” which is produced by ITV Studios-owned Lifted Entertainment, is a consistent hit for ITV, with over 269 million streams on ITV’s streaming platform ITV hub.

Laura Whitmore loves the drama. Literally. She’s just announced her exit stage left from Love Island; now the jaunty presenter is taking to the West End. We’re discussing how three years of grilling newly minted influencers on live telly equips you for the stage. “There’s definitely a similar skill set when you do live…” – she pauses, raises her eyebrows, says with a flourish – “drama. Drama in everything I do!” Fresh from crowning Ekin-Su and Davide – christened “mum and dad” by the internet for being besotted one minute, bickering the next – as this year’s champs, Whitmore is treading the boards in 2:22 A Ghost Story, in the same role that nabbed Lily Allen an Olivier nomination earlier this year. It was her husband Iain Stirling, he of the “TerrrNIGHTTTT” Love Island voiceovers, who first told her she’d nail the part. “I was like, ‘Whaaaat! There’s...

When lockdown offered unobstructed time for discussion and analysis, Director Tomás Whitmore and Musician Kyle Harvey took a dive into their own relationships with social media and the ways in which constantly tweaked algorithms dictate our behaviour for maximum engagement. Already at work on a feature film together those conversations and a location access countdown turned their attention to the making of scintillating short Allie & I. However, what at first appears to be a story about the draw of a burgeoning new romance so intoxicating that nothing else matters, seductively reveals itself to be an allegory for the ever-present assault on our always-connected mental health. Across Allie & I’s 27 minute running time Whitmore delicately explores the addictive intricacies of our need for others’ validation and attention through stunning visuals and a hallucinatory aesthetics, heightened by alluring and powerful performances from co-writer Harvey and the mesmerising Kota Eberhardt. Love Island U.K. was no longer a match for Laura Whitmore. Laura, who took over as host of the buzzy dating reality show in January 2020, announced her exit from the show in an Instagram post Aug. 22. "I won't be hosting the next series of Love Island," she wrote. "There are certain elements of the show I've found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects." In total, Laura has hosted three seasons of the show. "I wish it was still possible but know you'll be in safe hands," Whitmore continued. "I was only planning to fill in for...

Laura Whitmore has confirmed that she will not be coming back to Love Island UK when the reality show returns for its winter season at the beginning of 2023.
“Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island,” Whitmore posted on Instagram. “There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.”
ITV recently announced a new winter edition of Love Island UK that will have the villa set in South Africa, versus Mallorca, Spain where the summer season is set.
Whitmore continued, “I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series. I hope I did you proud Caroline.

“Love Island” host Laura Whitmore has quit the U.K. reality show after two and a half years.
Whitmore, a close friend of former host Caroline Flack, famously took over from the long-time presenter in January 2020, shortly after her December 2019 arrest for domestic assault and two months before Flack’s untimely suicide. Between the 2020 pre-pandemic winter “Love Island” and the 2021 and 2022 summer editions of the program, Whitmore has hosted three seasons in total.
Fans of the show, however, have noticed the presenter’s dwindling screen time in recent seasons, in which cast members have largely operated on their own and without a host. Whitmore’s main presence has been in the after-show “Aftersun.”
In a post to her official Instagram account on Monday night local time, the Irish model and TV presenter wrote: “Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island.

Laura Whitmore was corrected on Saturday Kitchen after poking fun at Love Island star Tasha.
The host of the ITV2 reality series appeared on the cookery show this weekend (20 August) when she playfully alerted wine expert Helen McGinn to what she believed to have been a blunder made by the contestant on this year’s series.
After speaking about her love of rosé, Whitmore said: “Also, Tasha on Love Island this year, she thought rosé wine was red white and white wine mixed together,” sarcastically adding: “Which is apparently not how you make it.”
McGinn replied: “Well, I have to say Tasha’s not completely wrong,” to which a surprised Whitmore replied: “Oh! Go on...”
The expert then explained that, with Champagne, “you are allowed to mix red and white wine to make rose, but only in Champagne in France”.
Whitmore, casting aspersions on Tasha’s wine knowledge, asked: “Do you think Tasha thought that?...

Harrison Ford is and has been one of the world's most recognizable and beloved actors for decades. His work as Han Solo in "Star Wars" and as the man behind Indiana Jones alone would cement his legacy as an icon. But Ford also had an outstanding run in the '90s that included hits like the Oscar-winning "The Fugitive" and "Air Force One."
The latter film, released in 1997, was directed by the late, great Wolfgang Petersen and is actually Ford's biggest movie not connected to a franchise. More than that, it gave the legendary actor one of his greatest cinematic moments, and arguably his most quotable line.
"Air Force One'' sees Ford playing the President of the United States which, in itself, says a lot about the way the public viewed him at that time. The bulk of the movie takes place aboard the plane in question, with terrorist extremists...

Almost every horror fan enjoys a good creature feature, but sometimes it can be hard to find one that plays it mostly straight without descending into complete self-parody. Peter Hyams’ The Relic is just that kind of monster movie, presenting an air of sophistication that distracts you from its roots in outright schlock.
It was one of the few times that Hyams—who has many thriller, sci-fi, and action films in his credits—jumped into the horror pool. Previously, he ventured into supernatural territory with the 1992 fantasy comedy Stay Tuned, which saw John Ritter and Pam Dawber running through a satellite dish system powered by Hell. It wasn’t exactly what many would call horror, but still, check it out if you haven’t—there’s some good dark comedy jokes that would make readers of this site cackle.
