Netflix has unveiled the first look of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia in the 4th season of ‘The Witcher,’ taking over from Henry Cavill.
After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again.
Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the cast also includes nya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg), Freya Allan (Princess Cirilla of Cintra), Joey Batey (Jaskier), Laurence Fishburne (Regis) Eamon Farren (Cahir), Anna Shaffer (Triss Merigold), Mimî M Khayisa (Fringilla), Cassie Clare (Philippa), Mahesh Jadu (Vilgefortz), Meng’er Zhang (Milva), Graham McTavish (Dijkstra), Royce Pierreson (Istredd), Mecia Simson (Francesca), Sharlto Copley (Leo Bonhart), Danny Woodburn (Zoltan...

Geralt of Rivia grew two inches overnight.
After Henry Cavill exited “The Witcher,” a first look at Season 4 of the Netflix series teases new star Liam Hemsworth as the recast character. A Google search lists Cavill at 6’1″ and Hemsworth as 6’3″ — if you can believe those things.
Per the synopsis: After the shocking, Continent-altering events that closed out Season 3, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan) who are faced with separately traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons. If they can embrace and lead the respective groups of misfits they find themselves in, the trio have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again.
The ensemble cast includes Joey Batey (Jaskier), Laurence Fishburne (Regis) Eamon Farren (Cahir), Anna Shaffer (Triss Merigold), Mimî M Khayisa (Fringilla), Cassie Clare (Philippa), Mahesh Jadu (Vilgefortz), Meng’er Zhang (Milva), Graham McTavish (Dijkstra), Royce Pierreson (Istredd...

Netflix has officially revealed a first look at Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming fourth season of The Witcher in a new video.
After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again.
The streaming service previously gave the green light to Season 5 of The Witcher, which will film back-to-back with Season 4 and will be the final chapter in Geralt’s story.
Seasons 4 and 5 will adapt the remaining Sapkowski books, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake, promising an epic and satisfying conclusion to Netflix’s hit fantasy drama.

Geralt of Rivia’s story has an end date on Netflix.
On Thursday, the streaming service renewed The Witcher for Season 5, but revealed that it would be the last season.
The shocking announcement comes as production is finally getting underway on The Witcher Season 4 following countless setbacks.
“It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate Season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” showrunner Lauren Hissrich shared in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends.”
Saying goodbye to the hit fantasy drama will be tough, but at least we have two seasons that will help soften the blow.

Top of the mornin’ to you on this St. Patrick’s Day! To celebrate, we here at Arrow in the Head decided to mark the occasion by going back over the Leprechaun movies and ranking them from worst to first. The Leprechaun Movies Ranked list can be seen below – check it out and let us know how you would rank the movies!
Leprechaun: Origins (2014)
This is appalling. Director Zach Lipovsky, writer Harris Wilkinson, and WWE Studios were given the chance to make a new Leprechaun movie, they cast a professional wrestler (Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl) as the title character, and then they just churned out a dull monster movie. I don’t know how anyone involved thought this was a good idea (“You know what we should do? Take everything people liked about Leprechaun and remove it!”) or how Leprechaun: Origins made it through production. The story follows Americans backpacking through...

The erratic Leprechaun franchise is not known for sticking with a single concept for too long. The namesake (originally played by Warwick Davis) has gone to L.A., Las Vegas, space, and the ‘hood (not once but twice). And after an eleven-year holiday since the Davis era ended, the character received a drastic makeover in a now-unmentionable reboot. The critical failure of said film would have implied it was time to pack away the green top hat and shillelagh, and say goodbye to the nefarious imp. Instead, the Leprechaun series tried its luck again.
The general consensus for the Leprechaun films was never positive, and the darker yet blander Leprechaun: Origins certainly did not sway opinions. Just because the 2014 installment took itself seriously did not mean viewers would. After all, creator Mark Jones conceived a gruesome horror-comedy back in the early nineties, and that format is what was expected of any future ventures.

The eight film Leprechaun horror franchise is about to get a ninth installment, with Lionsgate recently hiring director Felipe Vargas (Milk Teeth) to “reimagine” the franchise.
But what can we expect from this next installment in the long-running saga? Felipe Vargas sat down with Splattercast ahead of St. Patrick’s Day to tease the new movie.
Vargas tells the show, “I’m so honored to be on that project. It’s such a cool franchise. To me what makes the franchise so special is that it really is limitless. It doesn’t need to be grounded. It can just be gory, sexy, crazy.”
“We’re still figuring out that tone,” he continues. “And the balance between horror and comedy. I would love for it to be scary as hell and also hilarious. I think we’re going back to a lot of the roots of Leprechaun in a lot of different ways,...

You can always count on Syfy to program the Leprechaun movies for St. Patrick’s Day, and we’re happy to report that this year is no exception. Syfy will be airing an all-day Leprechaun Franchise Marathon for St. Patrick’s Day once again, taking place on Sunday, March 17!
The good news? They’re showing All 8 Movies throughout the day, including 2018’s Leprechaun Returns. The bad news? As always, the movies are playing out of order.
The Leprechaun franchise kicked off with Mark Jones’s original horror-comedy in 1993, which was followed by five Warwick Davis-starring sequels, a reboot, and later Leprechaun Returns in 2018. Even though Leprechaun Returns was a sequel to the original movie, Linden Porco took over the role of the title character, played by Dylan Postl for Leprechaun Origins.
Here’s the full schedule for this year’s marathon…

Halloween might be the next major holiday on the calendar but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a little luck o’ the Irish. Ahead of Halloween and to mark the occasion of the first Leprechaun movie’s 30th anniversary, director Mark Jones is giving his take not on the horror flick that launched an eight-movie (so far) franchise, but its sequels both good, bad and whatever Origins was going for.
Speaking with Comic Book Resources, director Mark Jones said he is a fan of most of the sequels, although there is one entry that stands out as notably bad. “I was a little bit involved in [Leprechaun 2]. I was a producer on [Leprechaun 2], but then I went off to do other stuff. I thought Leprechaun in the Hood was great. There’s a whole fan base there. Everyone but [Leprechaun: Origins], and all...

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Lionsgate has given the greenlight to a new film in the Leprechaun franchise – but it doesn’t sound like this one will see Warwick Davis reprising his iconic role, nor will it be a follow-up to Leprechaun Returns, where Linden Porco played the title character. Instead, the project is being described as a “reimagining”, with Felipe Vargas, director of the award-winning short film Milk Teeth, on board to direct.
Mike Van Waes, who wrote the novel Peeves and has worked on the upcoming live-action Lilo & Stitch movie, has written the screenplay for the new Leprechaun. Plot details are being kept under wraps. All we know right now is that Lionsgate is aiming to “reimagine the horror title for a new generation of moviegoers“.

There have been eight films in the Leprechaun franchise to date, with 2018’s Leprechaun Returns most recently heading back to the original movie’s timeline in the wake of reboot Leprechaun Origins four years prior. What’s next? As Bloody Disgusting told you last year, Lionsgate has been actively seeking pitches for the next Leprechaun movie.
As an update to that scoop, THR reports this afternoon that Lionsgate has now hired director Felipe Vargas to “reimagine” the Leprechaun franchise.

Roy Lee is producing through Vertigo Entertainment.

Davis returned Leprechaun 2 (1994), Leprechaun 3 (1995), Leprechaun 4: In Space (1997), Leprechaun in the Hood (2000), and Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood (2003). Professional wrestler Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl played a monstrous leprechaun in the wrong-headed reboot Leprechaun: Origins (2014). And then Linden Porco was cast as the leprechaun in 2018’s Leprechaun Returns, a direct sequel to the first film.

While the rest of the world is seemingly falling apart, there are some constants that we can hold onto. One of these is that Syfy will use St. Patrick’s Day to share at least one Leprechaun-themed movie, and this March 17th they’re doubling down by showing both 2018’s Leprechaun Returns and 2012’s Leprechaun’s Revenge. While the latter film isn’t actually part of the main Leprechaun franchise, Syfy’s theme means that audiences will be able to see the two titles alternate from 8pm to 4am Est.
The Steven Kostanski-directed Leprechaun Returns was the better-regarded attempt to relaunch the long-running series in the 2010s, coming after the mixed reception for 2014’s Leprechaun: Origins. Kostanski, who partnered with Jeremy Gillespie for the excellent 2016 horror film The Void, did a decent job of bringing the Leprechaun franchise back to basics. The Leprechaun movie series, which has racked up no less than eight instalments, apparently still has its fans within the filmmaking community. Lionsgate and Syfy worked together on the most recent outing, 2018’s Leprechaun Returns, which tried to go back to the roots of the original 1980s movie after a poorly received reboot in 2014. Although there doesn’t seem to be massive demand for more Leprechaun content, director Darren Lynn Bousman is reportedly keen to take on the franchise.
Bousman, whose directing credits include several Saw movies, The Barrens, and St. Agatha, has long wanted to try his hand at a Leprechaun picture. Speaking to MTV News as far back as 2008, he had this to say about the prospect of being offered the job:
“I would do Leprechaun in a second. If Lionsgate is listening, give me Leprechaun. It’s just one of those fun popcorn movies. I would love...

Following the current trend with long running franchises that choose to ignore the previous sequels, Leprechaun Returns follows on from the original 25 years later. A decision which works brilliantly for the film giving it the freedom to not only follow on from the original story but also allowing it to reboot the series.
Leprechaun Returns is brilliantly balanced as it acknowledges the original film, Leprechaun (1993), throughout, whilst also trying to evolve the story. This enables it to appeal to both fans of the original series, whilst also making it accessible to a new audience. Mark Holton is the only returning actor from the original film as he reprises his role of Ozzie (Linden Porco having taken over the pivotal role of the leprechaun from Warwick Davis) and is used initially as a nostalgic connection between the two films. It seemed as though he would be destined for a brief cameo,...

After a failed remake, Lionsgate and Syfy teamed on Leprechaun Returns, a new sequel that remains canon with the original 1993 film. While critically panned, the new incarnation (that replaces Warwick Davis with Linden Porco as the little green slasher) was tonally similar to the first few films and delivered a bit of fun. It’s a potential revival piece that could get more direct-to-vod/TV sequels off the […]...

The Leprechaun franchise has gone in some strange and perplexing directions over the years, but if you feel like the horror comedy series couldn’t get much sillier than Leprechaun 4: In Space or Leprechaun in the Hood, there was a brief moment when the studio was seriously considering a crossover with the Candyman films until actor Tony Todd shot down the idea.
The unrealized crossover came up in a recent interview with Dread Central, prompting Todd to share his side of the story, and why he didn’t want to see the Candyman face off against Warwick Davis’ Irish killer:
“This was right around the time of Freddy vs Jason and [Candyman vs Leprechaun] did come across my desk. I saw it and I said, ‘I will never be involved in something like that.’ I respect the character. Once a horror character becomes something of an icon [like Candyman], reluctantly or not, you have...

Ahead of the film's December 11th release on Digital and On Demand from Lionsgate, we caught up with Porco in our latest Q&A feature to discuss bringing the iconic horror icon back to life, putting The Leprechaun's eerie makeup effects to good use, and his experiences working with Nick Antosca and the cast members of Channel Zero: Butcher's Block.

Anything – and I mean *anything* – Steven Kostanski’s Leprechaun Returns trotted out as a Celtic franchise continuation was going to outshine 2014’s Leprechaun Origins. You could have forced Warwick Davis’ successor Linden Porco to recite ninety minutes of Lucky Charms product placement and it’d have been an improvement. Thankfully, there’s more to this revival than “hearts, stars, and horseshoes” limericks. How *much* more will depend on your B-grade mileage, given kills and rhyming zingers are at a premium instead of collective packaging. It’s the practical showcase you’d expect from effects guru Kostanski (The Void/Astron-6 productions), hoping to distract from a goopy cauldron of body parts and shallow cinematic depth.

With only a few days to go until Leprechaun Returns brings the little Irish killer back to our screens, a new round of official images has just been released that puts the spotlight on Linden Porco.
The Channel Zero actor will be the first to inhabit the role of the murderous Leprechaun since Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl played the part in 2014’s Leprechaun: Origins. But the performance that viewers will really be measuring Porco against will be the take offered by Warwick Davis for the franchise’s first six installments.
Earlier this month, Davis explained that fatherhood made him reluctant to come back to the horror property, teasing that he’ll do some more work in the genre once his son turns 18. That leaves the spot open for Porco to show us what he can do in the role, though the actor has explained previously that he didn’t feel a...

Though the Leprechaun movies have never earned the favor of the critics, this decades-spanning horror-comedy franchise has still amassed an impressive following over the years, and it’s clear that the mischievous screen presence of Warwick Davis has a fair amount to do with it. With that in mind, perhaps there’s something a little misleading about the title of the upcoming Leprechaun Returns, in that Davis is no longer the psychotic star under all that makeup.
Speaking to Bang Showbiz, the actor reflected on his six-movie run in the series, and explained why fatherhood encouraged him to take a break from horror.

The first installment in the horror-comedy series since 2014’s widely rejected Leprechaun: Origins, the Steven Kostanski-helmed film sees the familiar killer heading for Alpha Upsilon house, and in this latest batch of images, we’re given a couple more glimpses at the students charged with suffering through this frightful night. We also get another look at the makeup job done on the Leprechaun’s latest rendition, but the most notable photo in this set is almost certainly the pic in which Linden Porco’s character appears to be bursting out of a victim’s torso Alien-style.

"I've got a lot of killin' to make up for...!" Syfy has released an official trailer for the upcoming horror sequel Leprechaun Returns, being release straight-to-vod in December. Remarkably, the Leprechaun series is currently on its eighth film. The most recent two were Leprechaun: Origins in 2014 (did anyone see this?) and Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood, of course, back in 2003. This new one even includes an old character from the original 1993 film, Mark Holton. And unfortunately Warwick Davis is not back this time, instead Linden Porco plays the super creepy Leprechaun. He returns once again, when a group of girls unwillingly awaken him, while they tear down a cabin so that they can build a new sorority house. The full cast includes Taylor Spreitler, Sai Bennett, Pepi Sonuga, Ben McGregor, and Emily Reid. This seriously looks crazy messed up and seriously twisted, not to mention packed with a bunch of bad one-liners.

Leprechaun Returns is the eighth movie in the Leprechaun horror movie franchise. We’ve got a new trailer for the movie for you to watch that sees the return of the villainous and twisted Leprechaun as he terrorizes a group of sorority girls.
This is one of those silly horror franchises that I’ve enjoyed watching and it all started in 1993 with Jennifer Aniston, who was just starting her acting career. It also starred Warwick Davis as the Leprechaun.
I know this new film won’t have the same effect on fans as the original did, but it still looks like ridiculous fun. Here’s the synopsis:
The film picks up 25 years after the events of the 1993 original, which found a maniacal Leprechaun doing whatever it takes (including committing gruesome murder) to track down his stolen pot of gold. Leprechaun Returns finds the leprechaun revived in the modern day when...

While it may not quite have achieved the mainstream success that film franchises such as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and Halloween have, I think we can all agree that the Leprechaun series is probably among the most beloved among horror aficionados of the past few decades. As such, it’s been granted a variety of sequels, even if a good portion of them have been direct-to-video.
Now, you may still have a bad taste in your mouth after viewing 2014’s Leprechaun: Origins, but we can assure you that the latest offering, Leprechaun Returns, isn’t yet another WWE vanity project, so it has that going for it. Furthermore, it’s seemingly the latest flick to serve as a sequel to the original, a trend we’ve been seeing recently that’s somewhat counter to doing a straight-up reboot.

Yes, there’s a new “Leprechaun” movie, and yes, you’ll probably watch it if you’re ever channel surfing and see that it’s on. Syfy is reviving the tongue-in-cheek horror franchise with “Leprechaun Returns,” the eighth movie in the series and the first since’s 2014’s “Leprechaun: Origins.” That reboot was preceded by such revered entries as “Leprechaun 4: In Space” and “Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood,” which is to say that “Returns” has a lot to live up to. Watch the teaser trailer below.
“I’ve been gone quite a while, what a terrible bore,” the Leprechaun says as it begins. “My fingers are itching, I’m killing for more; why, let’s try our luck and bet on me gold. “If it lands on tails, I’ll do as me told; but heads? I’ll start a new killing spree.”
“What a lovely surprise,” he says as it lands on heads.

Leprechaun: Origins was a terrible, terrible film. We probably don’t need to remind you of that, though. Zach Lipovsky’s carbon-copy creature feature was a slap in the face to horror fans everywhere, dead on arrival mostly thanks to an atrocious screenplay that never once ventured outside the safety of repetition. There wasn’t a single new idea to be found at the end of what was an unintelligible cash-in short on reveals, lacking in death scenes, and heavy on infuriating redundancy.
And while many had all but written off the franchise after its release, and understandably so, there might just be reason to get excited about Leprechaun again, and that’s because Syfy has announced Leprechaun Returns today. Now, before you go ahead and let out a groan, know that this will be a sequel to the 1993 original, picking up 25 years after the events of that film.

After channeling body-morphing cosmic horrors in The Void, co-director Steven Kostanski is stepping into established franchise territory for his next project: a new Leprechaun sequel from Syfy.
Announced by Syfy in a new teaser video featuring Linden Porco as the Leprechaun (a role played by Warwick Davis in the first six films in the horror franchise, with Dylan "Hornswoggle" Postl playing the role in the most recent entry, Leprechaun: Origins), the new Leprechaun sequel is titled Leprechaun Returns and will premiere on Syfy in March of 2019.
According to Syfy, the new movie will bring back the murderous Leprechaun 25 years after the events of the first film in the franchise, with sorority sisters—played by Taylor Spreitler (Kevin Can Wait), Pepi Sonuga (Ash vs Evil Dead), and Sai Bennett (Lake Placid: Legacy)—inadvertently resurrecting the titular terror after demolishing a cabin to make way for a new sorority headquarters.
