Los Angeles, March 26 (Ians) Actor Daniel Radcliffe, who gained major stardom after playing the titular role of Harry Potter in the film, has confirmed he is expecting his first child with long-term partner Erin Darke.
The 33-year-old star and Darke, 38, are due to become parents later this year, reports BBC.com
The actors have been together for a decade after reportedly meeting on the set of the film ‘Kill Your Darlings’ in 2013.
Radcliffe played poet Allen Ginsberg in the film, and Darke featured as Gwendolyn, a romantic interest.
Radcliffe rose to fame aged 12 when he starred as the bespectacled boy wizard in ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ in 2001. More recently, he starred in the lead role in ‘Weird: The Al Yankovic Story’, which was released last year.
The biopic follows the life and career of comedian Weird Al Yankovic, who found fame with comical spoof versions of classic songs.

Believe it or not, Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome have been in a relationship for over a decade now, but you wouldn't know with how private they are about it. Though it's unclear when and how the two stars first met, one of the first confirmed reports of their romance came from Evening Standard in October 2018, when the outlet referred to Groome as Grint's "girlfriend of seven years." A month prior, the Daily Mail also ran a report on the couple's "on-off relationship" that it claims began in 2011.
Since then, Grint and Groome have only been seen out together a handful of times and only publicly shared the biggest milestones from their relationship - including the birth of their 2-year-old daughter, Wednesday, whom they welcomed in May 2020. Less than a month before then, a rep for Grint announced that the actor and his longtime girlfriend were expecting their first child together.

In the Harry Potter universe, Ron Weasley goes on to have two children with Hermione: Rose and Hugo Granger-Weasley. In real life, however, the actor who portrayed the iconic Weasley (and went on to star in multiple M. Night Shyamalan projects including "Servant" and "Knock at the Cabin"), Rupert Grint, shares one child with his longtime girlfriend, Georgia Groome.
As the couple have always been notoriously private about their relationship, it comes as no surprise that they publicly shared their daughter's name over six months after her birth; not to mention, it took Grint until 2020 to make an Instagram account to share the name in the first place. "Hey Instagram....only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint," the actor, who stars in Netflix's "Cabinet of Curiosities,...

Rupert Grint is still quite shaken by something that happened one afternoon as he watched The Irishman at his London home: His house was broken into by an unknown man, who thankfully only managed to grab Grint’s jacket and a bunch of Kit Kat bars (more on that later) before fleeing. That experience, he says, tapped into one of the central terrors of his latest collaboration with director M. Night Shyamalan, Knock at the Cabin.

Rupert Grint’s daughter is a big-box store fan.
On Monday’s “The Tonight Show”, the “Servant” star talked about his 2-year-old daughter Wednesday “struggling a little bit with adjusting to U.K. life” after being mostly in the U.S.

But as it turns out, there’s one thing she’s really missing about America.
“She’s kind of been back and forth,” Grint said. “She does love Philly. She loves hoagies. She loves water ice. The big one is Target. She is obsessed with Target.”
In fact, according to Grint, his daughter would rather go shopping at the retailer than take a trip to the zoo.
“She loves going to different Targets and seeing how the layout’s kind of slightly different,” he said. “And sometimes, she doesn’t buy anything. She just wants to kind of browse.

It seems that Rupert Grint has always been ahead of the curve! His 2-year-old daughter, who he shares with longtime girlfriend Georgia Groome, is named Wednesday, which is particularly on trend for 2023 in light of the hit Netflix show "Wednesday" starring Jenna Ortega. "I'm glad we kind of got in there," he said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Jan. 9. "There's going to be a boom, a Wednesday boom. It's a good name, I stand by it."
While "princess crazy" Wednesday has spent much of her life in the US due to Grint filming Apple TV+'s "Servant" in Philadelphia, the family have moved back to the UK. However, he admits that his daughter has been struggling to adjust to life back home as she's "obsessed with Target." The US store hasn't made it's way to the UK, so it seems Wednesday will have to get used to the local Tesco instead!

As we reach the 20th anniversary of the magical British blockbusters, the real magic lies in the way its young stars have stayed on the rails – unlike many before them
There are many magical things about the Harry Potter film series, which marks its 20th anniversary this month with a re-release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Perhaps the most miraculous one, though, is that its three stars – Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint – are still alive, apparently content, and not noticeably addicted to class A drugs.
Each continued acting, occasionally even starring in bona fide hits: Radcliffe in The Woman in Black; Watson, who is also a Un women goodwill ambassador, in Beauty and the Beast. Grint, star of the M Night Shyamalan series Servant, also became a father last year – his partner is another former child actor, Georgia Groome of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging – and celebrated by joining Instagram.

Welcome to this week’s “Just for Variety“…
Rupert Grint may have co-starred as Ron Weasley in all eight “Harry Potter” movies, but he hasn’t actually watched most of them. “I’ve probably seen the first three at the premieres, but after that I stopped watching them,” Grint, 32, tells me from his home in the U.K. “But now that I have a daughter [Grint’s wife, actor Georgia Groome, gave birth to baby Wednesday in May], I will probably have to watch them with her.” Speaking of the hit franchise, Grint says he doesn’t expect to be a part of the “Harry Potter” series being developed by HBO Max. “It’ll be weird if it was a continuation kind of thing,” he says. “I weirdly feel quite protective of that character. Even when I saw the stage shows, it was a very strange experience. … If it’s like a different group of friends,...

A British horror comedy penned by Danny Morgan, we take a look at Double Date...
British horror comedy is a broad church, and when it comes to the cinema, you could end up with anything from Shaun Of The Dead to Lesbian Vampire Killers. Happily, Double Date, a blokey thriller written by its star Danny Morgan (BBC Three's Ideal) is quite funny and has a certain amount of visual panache, so it lands comfortably in the better end of the spectrum.
Arriving in UK cinemas fresh off a crowd-pleasing premiere at FrightFest earlier this year, the film follows Jim (Morgan), a painfully shy young man who's on the verge of becoming a 30 year old virgin. His best mate Alex (Michael Socha) seems even more exasperated about this than he does. And so, neither of them can believe their luck when stunning sisters Kitty (Kelly Wenham) and Lulu (Georgia Groome...

British horror-comedy about a pair of siblings who pick up blokes to murder them in an occult ritual is weirdly unpleasant – and unfunny
There are a couple of reasonable moments in this Brit horror-comedy, and Georgia Groome is always a likable presence. But it feels weirdly nasty, unfunny and lame – like a homegrown, humourless Baise-Moi for a 90s ladmag audience.
Groome and Kelly Wenham play Lulu and Kitty, two sisters who pick up clueless blokes for double dates, take them back to their palatial family home and kill them, for occult ritualistic motives. Kitty is supposed to be the more fanatical of the two, set up as a serious badass and a positive kickboxing ninja.
(And yet towards the end the film is oddly reluctant to give Kitty the obvious easy victory in single combat over an untrained male: their fight goes on interminably.)

Better Watch Out
Stars: Virginia Madsen, Patrick Warburton, Olivia DeJonge, Dacre Montgomery, Levi Miller, Ed Oxenbould, Aleks Mikic | Written by Zack Kahn, Chris Peckover | Directed by Chris Peckover
On a quiet suburban street tucked within a ‘safe neighbourhood’, Ashley has turned up to babysit 12-year-old Luke for the evening while his parents are out for a Christmas party night. Ashley is Luke’s favourite babysitter and he’s looking forward to spending time with her again. Suddenly a brick crashes through the window reading ‘U Leave, U Die’ and they hear someone sneaking around the house upstairs…
Where to begin with Better Watch Out? A film that starts as your typical, cliched seasonal slasher: two teens trapped in a house by a madman outside, who eventually breaks in to terrorise his victims. If the film had stuck with that story it would have been, judging by what we saw, an...

A big hit at Horror Channel FrightFest, we chat to Danny Morgan about the upcoming horror, Double Date...
London-born actor/writer Danny Morgan (Off The Hook, Ideal, On The Road) had a very good reason for turning to the horror genre when it came to writing his first screenplay. “I thought that was a genre I could do something in, because there are so many crap horror films. I thought ‘well, it’s not going to stand out horribly if it’s completely terrible’. So I went into it with a good frame of mind!”
It’s a characteristically self-deprecating remark from Morgan who, along with director Benjamin Barfoot, can rest assured that Double Date is one of the funniest and most entertaining British horror comedies of recent years. Following screenings at Karlovy Vary and Edinburgh, it brought the house down at this year’s London’s Horror Channel FrightFest,...

It’s hard not to like and admire a low-budget British genre flick when it’s written by a young English actor and directed by his friend, even if the writer has given himself the lead role. In this instance, it’s a rather brave move, as screenwriter Danny Morgan, probably best known for regular appearances in the Johnny Vegas vehicle Ideal, has cast himself as Jim, a nerdy virgin about to hit 30. It’s a successful collaboration with Benjamin Barfoot too, a visually impressive director with a distinctive vision for the project at hand.
Online dating hasn’t helped Jim’s sexual cause, and his chat-up technique is non-existent, so his best mate Alex (Michael Socha) decides he’s to be responsible for getting Jim’s cherry well and truly popped before his birthday is up. Unfortunately for the pair of them, they’re about to...

Director: Yann Samuell.
Writers: Eva Ibbotson (novel), and David Solomons (screenplay).
Cast: Kevin McKidd, Steven Mackintosh, Emma Fielding, Anthony Head, and Bill Ward.
DVD Release Date: October 4, 2011.
Humphrey was once an ordinary boy with an ordinary life. Well, that is, until he died—quite by accident, really. But don't tell his best friend, Barnabas, that. His death quite literally sets in motion The Great Ghost Rescue, a tongue-in-cheek horror comedy from the UK about dislocated spirits looking for a new home.
This movie made a quiet release on this side of the pond with very little fanfare as a Halloween season DVD release. Also, this film is by no means a faithful adaptation of Eva Ibbotson’s original novel of the same name, published 1975; that is a shame. This film is easy to share with young ones before going out for trick or treat.
While children may not get all of the jokes,...

The Holding
Stars: David Bradley, Vincent Regan, Kierston Wareing, Georgia Groome, Skye Lourie | Written by James Dormer | Directed by Susan Jacobson
It’s not exactly an original tale to tell: that of the too good to be true stranger, who worms their way into your affections, erasing that initial nagging feeling that they weren’t all they claimed to be. That maybe they were too good to be true.
But The Holding tells its tale in a remote, rural location, makes the enigmatic stranger a wandering farm hand, and makes the central protagonist a strong willed mother of two with a dark secret. And it works.
I had no expectations for this going in, but it pleased enormously with its character development, slow burn, and intelligent plotting. The cast are uniformly excellent, dealing with some risky subjects with integrity. Of particular note are central protagonist Kierston Wareing, who is totally convincing throughout,...

The Holding
Directed by Susan Jacobson
Starring Georgia Groome, David Bradley and Vincent Regan
UK 2011
The first of the extensive line-up of British films this year at Frightfest came in the form of the unappetising The Holding – a grimy thriller set on a farm in the English countryside that sees a lone mother and her two daughters befriended by a mysterious stranger who turns up claiming to be a friend of her dead husband, his actual motives and history proving far more sinister than they could imagine.
It’s safe to say that I wasn’t looking forward to this film due to it’s bland setting, unimaginative set-up, and, to be honest; English background. I expected it to be a poorly made, boring, muddy affair with little to no panache or excitement. I was pleasantly surprised.

For more than half Rupert Grint's 23 years, he has had another existence as Ron Weasley, Harry Potter's comedy sidekick. As the final film in the series is released, where to now for the number-two boy wizard?
Rupert Grint describes it as like watching a row of dominoes falling towards you, and when we emerge from a cellar bar in central London, climbing up to street-level Soho, it's clear he's caught it just right.
A few strides in the direction of his hotel and a face among a group of outdoor lunchers flinches in recognition, prompting other heads to turn and look. Quickly a chipper twentysomething is bounding across the road, dodging motorbikes, his cameraphone outstretched as if it's something Grint has mislaid. "Would you mind, Rupert, if we?" I'm sure this happens to other people with famous faces, but does it happen to quite such a degree?
