11.1 Out Of The Darkness, Into The Fire
Last season left us with a new Big Bad on the loose, the Darkness, supposedly so evil that God shut it away and used the Mark of Cain to keep the door locked. Out Of The Darkness, Into The Fire picks up straight away from where we left off. The Darkness has hit, meeting Dean in a vision, taking the form of a mysterious woman who thanks him for her release. He wakes up a mile away from the car where he had been sitting with Sam, who was knocked unconscious when the wave hit.
Heading back into town, the brothers find a dead road crew and the deputy, Jenna, who managed to fend them off. It appears that...

As Dean succumbs more and more to the Mark's power, Sam gets increasingly desperate to track his brother down and set Rowena on performing the spell that will get rid of the First Curse. Dean gets desperate and calls on an old ally of the Winchesters in the form of Death, anticipating that it will be his own demise that will rid the world of the dangers of the Mark. Fans of “American Idol” season 13 winner Caleb Johnson won’t have long to wait for the newly crowned king’s debut album. Johnson’s self-titled album will come out Aug. 12. Anyone remember a winner’s set coming out that quickly before? Not only that, the release date was announced mere hours after Johnson was throned last night. Given that “Idol” no longer has the shiny new car smell it once had, 19 Recordings/Interscope Records, which is putting out the release, must want to strike while Johnson’s victory is still fresh in people’s minds. No word on when Interscope will release runner-up Jena Irene’s album. Judge Harry Connick asked Johnson last week what kind of album he’d like to make and he replied, unsurprisingly, a rock album of originals. He’s off to a good start with his “Idol” finale song, “As Long As You Love Me,...

Los Angeles, Jan 4: British rocker Justin Hawkins wears the same clothes every day and rarely takes a shower, insisting he still smells fresh because he avoids eating meat.
The former "The Darkness" star is a committed vegan who refuses to eat all animal and dairy products, and he is adamant his diet has affected his sweat glands and he no longer perspires, reports contactmusic.com.
"I never change my clothes. In fact, I even sleep in them because vegans don't sweat or smell. I rarely shower and I don't wash my hair. Go up to any vegan and sniff. They don't stink," he said.

It is only as 55,000 people descend on Twickenham stadium for the first of Lady GaGa's three sold-out shows that you realise just how much of an effect she's had on pop music in the last four years. But unlike an arena gig from say, Katy Perry or Kasabian, the crowd is as diverse as the album we're all here to celebrate; the genre-bending, hectic and, at times, scarily freakish Born This Way. First up were supporters The Darkness who were chosen by GaGa herself, no doubt for their '80s-inspired glam-rock sound which features (in parts, at least) on her own LP. The task of entertaining a supersize crowd interested in one thing only is by no means easy, but it was one Justin Hawkins and Co. seemed effortlessly well-equipped for. Their short-but-sweet 30-minute set encapsulated their best so far; spanning from old, in-yer-face favourites (more)...

When The Darkness first arrived in 2003, the timing was perfect. Whilst the popular music of the early noughties was dominated by Nu-Metal, The Darkness offered an alternative to audiences powered by their acquired sense of humour and guitar riffs that had seemingly belonged in an earlier decade. After releasing their wonderful debut album, Permission to Land (2003), The Darkness’ status as a musical powerhouse was cemented and became seemingly untouchable. However, the following two years was a difficult period that saw the much-publicised departure of bassist Frankie Poullain and the release of a “difficult” second album (2005’s One Way Ticket to Hell … And Back!) that was considered underwhelming, specifically on a commercial level. All the elements took their toll on the band, and The Darkness split.
So, here we are – seven years down the line; it’s 2012, and the band has exorcised any-and-all demons that were responsible...

The Darkness frontman - who has been clean and sober of the drug for six years - admits he does still like to party but does it in a much more restrained way now than how he used to. U.K. rockers The Darkness are back. The cheeky metal titans will release their third studio album, "Hot Cakes" (Wind-up/Pias), on August 21. It's hard to believe it's been seven years since we last heard from the multi-platinum band. Their 2003 debut, "Permission to Land," spawned the infectious hit "I Believe in a Thing Called Love." Two years later, their sophomore album failed to meet the same expectations and frontman Justin Hawkins departed amid reports of substance abuse problems. The band reunited last year and announced the new album. "Hot Cakes" was produced by the band’s core siblings Justin and Dan Hawkins along...

The Darkness have revealed that they have recorded "extreme metal" for their new album. The newly reformed band plan to release their third studio album later this year and are currently deciding on a tracklisting for the collection. "We finished recording it in January and it's now mixed. We're currently deciding the tracklisting. People keep telling us it's all changed since our last album and the tracklisting doesn't matter," Justin Hawkins told NME. "But we're still old school, we put it together as two sides like a traditional vinyl album. So for our sake it's important that we choose the right songs." "Really?!" Is the word that first came to mind when we heard that The Darkness would be the main support for Lady GaGa on her upcoming European tour, alongside her friend and performance artist Lady Starlight. But when we got our breath back, we realised how much sense it made. Born This Way and Justin Hawkins's recently-reformed rockers both owe a great deal to '80s hair rock and they both like a bit of dress-up in the theatre of pop. To celebrate their appointment to Mother Monster's tour bus, here's ten fast facts about The Darkness. 1. The Darkness formed in 2000 in Lowestoft, Suffolk and were made up of Justin Hawkins (vocals, guitars, synths), his brother Dan Hawkins (guitars), Frankie Poullain (bass) and Ed Graham (drums). 2. Before they recorded their debut album, Justin raised some cash by writing (more)...
