After the fantastically perfect run of The Big Bang Theory for over 12 seasons spread across the course of almost twelve years, Young Sheldon began as a prequel spin-off in 2017, encompassing the life of a young bona fide genius Sheldon Cooper. But time goes by fast, and even this superhit spin-off has come to an end after its seven years of purely blissful run.

Needless to say, as much as the young Cooper managed to tug at fans’ heartstrings throughout the time his story continued, it didn’t hesitate to end on an incredibly emotional note that had fans crying their hearts out. And, ever since then, fans have also been showering showrunner Chuck Lorre with requests to create yet another spin-off, even if it’s only of Tbbt.

Some celebrities have a big name that fans immediately recognize. Others have less of a reputation but just as much talent.
Josh Charles is a mildly successful actor with over forty credits in his portfolio. His career has spanned movies and TV series since the 1980s. While most of his work is lesser known, he's had a few breakthrough roles fans love.
Despite rarely being the main star, Charles has stayed relevant on screen, from his most known character in The Good Wife to his newest endeavor, FX's The Veil. Some of his earlier work should be on everyone's must-watch list.
Josh Charles started his acting career as a supporting character in the 1980s version of Hairspray. A year later, he scored his breakout role alongside Robin Williams -- one of the greatest actors of the time -- in Dead Poet's Society.

Writer/director Veena Sud‘s Hulu movie “The Stranger” is a one-night thriller that allows for only a couple of scenes before rideshare driver Clare (Maika Monroe) realizes she’s made a horrible mistake picking up passenger Carl (Dane DeHaan). From that point, the movie is a nonstop adrenaline rush and so perfectly paced that the most surprising thing about it is that it didn’t begin as a feature film at all — this new Hulu movie is a re-edit of a series Sud initially made for Quibi.
Before its swift demise, Quibi was a platform designed for people to watch shows in 10-minute episodes on their phones, with content presented in dual simultaneous aspect ratios so that one could watch the episodes either vertically or horizontally. The unique format provided filmmakers like Sud, Mark Pellington, and Catherine Hardwicke opportunities to experiment with new ways of storytelling; it also gave...

After racing toward the finish line at top speed, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 director Jeff Fowler is wrapping up production on the Blue Blur’s latest adventure! Fowler announced the film’s production wrap via Twitter/X with a new photo from the set. In the image, Fowler holds a giant clapper with drawings of the threequel’s primary animated cast, including Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow. The latest addition to the cast, Shadow, takes the spotlight on the clapper, while Tails and Knuckles give the anti-hero the stink eye. Meanwhile, Sonic appears unbothered by Shadow’s presence, shrugging off the new player’s prominence. If you look past the clapper, you’ll find Fowler wearing a shirt saying “Keep Calm and Jim Carrey On,” a nod to the comedic actor’s franchise return as Dr. Robotnik.

John Cena hit the orange carpet in a striped suit at the premiere of his new movie Ricky Stanicky held at Regal-e Walk on Tuesday (March 5) in New York City.
The 46-year-old actor was joined by his wife Shay Shariatzadeh for his latest movie premiere, his second this year, following Argylle in January.
John was also seen posing for photos alongside people dressed as different musicians that John impersonates as his character in the movie.
Also hitting the carpet were his co-stars Jermaine Fowler, Andrew Santino, Lex Scott Davis, Anja Savcic and Jeff Ross. Noticeably missing from the premiere was Zac Efron.
Here’s a synopsis for Ricky Stanicky: When three childhood best friends pull a prank gone wrong, they invent the imaginary Ricky Stanicky to get them out of trouble! Twenty years after creating this ‘friend,’ Dean, Jt, and Wes still use the nonexistent Ricky as a handy alibi for their immature behavior.

Exclusive: Actor-comedian Jermaine Fowler is set to co-write, executive produce and star in an untitled single-camera comedy, which has received a script commitment at Fox.
In the half-hour project, co-written by Fowler and Zack Bernstein, after a self-inflicted fall from grace, a former jiu-jitsu champion’s (Fowler) only shot at redemption is to check his ego at the door and start from scratch at a low-rent strip-mall dojo.
Fowler started Brazilian jiu-jitsu training during Covid.
“When the pandemic hit, I had nothing to do,” he said during a January 2023 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show. “I was bored, and I always wanted to try martial arts.”
On jiu-jitsu he said, “It’s a beautiful sport. It’s gruesome, but it’s so beautiful.”
At the time, Fowler was a white belt who had won one fight out of four.

Everything you need to know about the new movie Ricky Stanicky is on the poster with its stark message plastered right across it: Warning! An R-rated Comedy. Oh, and the fact that it is directed and co-written by Peter Farrelly also tells you a lot. This is undeniably a return to the kinds of outrageous, raunchy, anything-goes style of comedy that made the Farrelly brand a household name with films like Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal, Kingpin, Stuck On You and the “Citizen Kane” of the genre, There’s Something About Mary. More recently Farrelly, who also managed to put heart in even the wildest of situations, took his career in a different direction with his wonderful and emotional Oscar-winning Green Book, as well as the terrific true story The Greatest Beer Run Ever which starred Zac Efron. The latter is now reunited with the filmmaker and the results are laugh-out-loud hilarious in Ricky Stanicky,...

Peter Farrelly’s Ricky Stanicky concerns a trio of best friends who create an imaginary person to blame for their misdeeds. As the years go by, Dean (Zac Efron), Jt (Andrew Santino), and Wes (Jermaine Fowler) continue using “Ricky” as an excuse any time they want to skip, say, a family gathering or sneak out on a boys’ weekend. In such moments, they simply tell their significant others that Ricky really needs them right now.
That’s a solid enough setup for a film, a kind of coming-of-middle-age comedy in the vein of Jeff Tomsic’s Tag, where the characters’ commitment to a childhood tradition ends up jeopardizing their adult lives in the process. But where the antics of Tag’s characters effectively captured the stupid joy of acting like your younger self while hanging out with your oldest friends, Ricky Stanicky is stupid in a much less joyful way.

Did you ever have a friend that continually put you in a bad position or made things problematic? Well if you didn’t, perhaps you could’ve just made one up. This is the storyline for the latest from comedic filmmaker Peter Farrelly. Ricky Stanicky features Zac Efron, Jermaine Fowler and Andrew Santino as childhood buddies who invent a fictitional friend, someone to blame on for the trouble they cause. It works so well, they still use this fake friend whenever things go awry. However, that lie backfires on them and they find themselves hiring John Cena to “play” Ricky, the troublesome friend. And since it’s a Farrelly flick, outrageousness ensues.

Following a filmography comprising approximately eight short films just over a decade-span, with the most recent being the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival premiere “Salam,” along with television series work, British and U.S. based filmmaker Claire Fowler embarked on a project that initially started as a potential novel but eventually evolved into a feature film screenplay. What might become her feature debut, Toad comes from an intimate place digging into past and drawing inspiration from events that unfolded during the filmmaker’s youth. In my discussion with Fowler, it became evident that her potential feature film will explore collective memory and trauma. Rather than presenting a simplistic portrayal, it appears the film will embrace shades of complexity, drawing inspiration from European cinema.…...

This article contains full spoilers for Argylle.
Early in the Matthew Vaughn spy thriller/comedy Argylle, actual secret agent Aiden (Sam Rockwell) needs to calm writer of secret agents Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard). Aiden leans in and calmly tells a story about a mission that required him to scale a tremendous height. Rather than look down, Aiden explains, you just have to look at what’s ahead. “What’s right in front of you, Elly?” he asks, staring directly at the camera.
Argylle might not have the same bratty sense of humor that marked Kick-Ass or Kingsman: The Secret Service, but audiences might feel that Vaughn is trolling them in that scene. For months now, trailers for Argylle have teased an amazing twist, suggesting that the real Agent Argylle is something special, something they are not going to want to miss.
But you would have to be really inattentive to miss the reveal.

In June of 1970, writer Richard Matheson published the short story "Button, Button." It would inspire a radically unique cinematic adaptation as well as several other official and unofficial retellings. One of its central themes is identity. The characters discover, to their horror, that they don't know themselves, let alone those around them.
That theme is a tenet of the spy genre, and it's no surprise why the genre continues to enjoy such rampant popularity despite the Cold War (arguably the most prolific period for espionage) three decades removed. It has become nearly inextricable from the action genre (thanks in large part to James Bond), and also directly addresses the blurring of reality and fiction where cinema excels. After all, what is spycraft but another form of acting? Furthermore, if someone is called upon to pretend to be someone else for a living, it...

What happens when a decades-old white lie starts snowballing out of control? Well, Zac Efron, Jermaine Fowler, Andrew Santino, and John Cena are all about to find out in Peter Farrelly’s new comedy film, Ricky Stanicky, which shared its first trailer today.
Set to premiere on Prime Video on March 7th, Ricky Stanicky tells the story of three longtime friends who have invented an imaginary character, named “Ricky Stanicky,” to strategically blame their misbehavior on. When their latest Stanicky antic doesn’t go as planned, though, their families begin to question what’s really going on. Hoping to quell any suspicions, the three come up with a solution: hire an actor to pretend to be Stanicky.
Landing on washed-up, X-rated, rock ‘n’ roll impersonator, Rock Hard Rod (Cena), as their Stanicky, the three’s plan seems to work at first. But as the uber-charismatic — albeit, brazen — Rock Hard Rod gets a new job,...

So, since we’re deep into the holiday season (the biggie is just ten days away), what better time to revisit some old friends? And it really has been a long stretch, actually more than twenty years. That’s quite a gap between sequels, especially in animation where franchises seem to abound almost annually. Yes, the decades set this flick apart, but also its style. It’s not drawn at the old “light-desk’ nor is fashioned from pixels via an army of computers. This piece would truly be considered “old school’ as it returns to the techniques of “stop-motion animation”, which has been a cinema staple for over a hundred years. These days it’s mainly employed in the service of “selling” in TV commercials or the occasional TV special. But these wacky “wizards of clay” at Aardman (the main characters are molded and sculpted) are masters of this time-consuming...

The closing shot of the sequence may as well be a painting, with the final death blow being delivered while a massive wave crashes in the background,...

The line between animation and live action is brilliantly blurred in “Blue Eye Samurai,” the 2D/3D hybrid animated action series set during Edo-period Japan. It’s “Mulan” meets “Game of Thrones,” in which Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine) — a mixed-race, lone-wolf warrior — lives in disguise seeking revenge on the four white men who made her a “creature of shame”.
“Blue Eye Samurai” represents a bold, cinematic leap in TV adult animation that’s driven by the period-authentic scope and spectacle. All eight episodes are treated as a different genre, and the graphic violence and sex are enhanced by the stylistic poetry of the animated form (the characters are inspired by Bunraku puppets and the visual style by ukiyo-e woodblock prints). Crucially, though, its exploration of race and gender through the dark lens of anti-hero Mizu is refreshing and relatable.

In the history of Japan, the Edo period, or, as designated by the contemporary shogunate, the Tokugawa period, spanned two and a half centuries and was marked by several contrasting aspects. On one hand, the extremely isolationist approach of the nation allowed it to be completely hidden away from the rest of the world, contributing to a certain oriental enigma and the creation of a police state. On the other hand, the approach allowed the nation to reach the zenith of cultural innovation and maintain peace and prosperity during a period when the rest of the world was being ravaged by the pangs of European colonialism. Both of these aspects are beautifully highlighted in the recently released Netflix original series, Blue Eye Samurai, created by Amber Noizumi and her husband Michael Green, known for his work as a writer on movies like Logan and Blade Runner 2049.

Mizu (Maya Erskine) is very good at fighting. So good that she can cleave trees in half with a single swipe of her sword and cut down entire armies single-handedly. So good that no matter how outnumbered or overpowered she seems to be, victory is never out of reach. So good that even if some of Blue Eye Samurai’s storytelling is a bit shallow, Mizu’s skills provide enough pure spectacle to make the series exhilarating to watch.
Blue Eye Samurai takes place in 17th-century Japan, just as the country has closed its borders off to the rest of the world. As a result of this isolationism, mixed-race people are written off as “white devils” and rejected from society. This is the fate that Mizu has suffered since childhood thanks to her brilliant blue eyes, and she’s vowed to enact vengeance on the white man she believes cursed her with them: her father,...

Many people (this reviewer included) scoffed at the announcement of Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. Something about the ludicrous title and 23-year hiatus gave the air of a studio in desperation, or one searching for an Oscar contender. How wrong we were. For in spite of the long wait and changes of personnel––Zachary Levi and Thandiwe Newton replace Mel Gibson and Julia Sawalha; Sam Fell replaces Nick Park and Peter Lord––this latest adventure is every bit as well-crafted, cleverly written, and stuffed with gallinaceous puns as its predecessor.
We rejoin the flock, like the cast, in much-changed circumstances. For one thing, they have built a small island paradise––it looks more like the Shire than Yorkshire––where they are free to work and roam without the threat of human intervention. There is also a lively new addition to the group: Rocky and Ginger’s chirpy chick Molly,...

The British production company Aardman, best known for award-winning shorts such as the evergreen Creature Comforts and short-to-feature franchises like Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, specializes in “Claymation,” stop-motion animation done using figurines made of clay and similar material. Even by the glacial standards of animation practice, they take ages to produce new work. You might say their output is rare as hens’ teeth, to quote a Britishism, which is apt because their most successful feature (and the highest-grossing stop-motion film ever) is still Chicken Run (2000), a family-friendly film set on a 1950s chicken farm that stars a brood of fowl with anatomically incorrect, but very Aardman-esque, over-bitey teeth.
But good things come to those who wait, and the studio’s sequel, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, is a worthy successor. Rounding up the feathered friends who made a break for freedom in the last film, led...

Nearly a quarter-century has passed since Aardman hatched its first feature, and the generation that flipped for “Chicken Run” — tickled by the novelty of watching a pseudo-serious genre movie rendered silly by an ensemble of stop-motion poultry — has grown up to be parents. Distributed by DreamWorks, the 2000 toon reimagined “The Great Escape” with chickens, as a doomed flock schemed to fly the coop of a WWII-style concentration camp run by the intimidating Mrs. Tweedy (Miranda Richardson).
In the tasty (if young-skewing) sequel commissioned by Netflix, “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget,” it’s the other way around … or, as gung-ho Ginger (Thandiwe Newton) puts it in her trailer-ready motivational speech, “Last time, we broke out of a chicken farm. Well, this time, we’re breaking in!” Where the tongue-in-beak original was a sendup of war movies, “Nugget” serves as a riff on “Mission: Impossible”-style action flicks, putting Ginger in...

David Bradley voices Fowler, Jane Horrocks voices Babs, Romesh Ranganathan is Nick, Daniel Mays is Fetcher, Josie Sedgwick-Davies is Frizzle, and Nick Mohammed is Dr. Fry.

At last, over 23 years later, the highly anticipated "Chicken Run" sequel is finally on its way to Netflix. The follow-up to the stop-motion animated 2000 classic, titled "Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget," unveiled its first look on Sept. 5 when Netflix released a teaser trailer, which brings back all the chicken and roosters for a new adventure. Instead of going on the run to break out of a chicken farm, they're breaking into one.
Netflix first announced the "Chicken Run" sequel back in June 2020, tweeting at the time, "Poultry News: Exactly 20 years to the day since the original was released, we can confirm there will be a Chicken Run sequel coming to Netflix!!" Aardman Animations is, once again, at the helm (just like the first film), with directors Nick Park and Peter Lord back as executive producers. Sam Fell is the sequel's director.

The makers of the hit children’s program Wallace & Gromit return to the stop-motion animation world with a sequel to their 2000 film, Chicken Run. Instead of escaping, in Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, they will be breaking into a new high-tech facility.
The official synopsis from Netflix reads,
“From the multi Academy and BAFTA award-winning Aardman, and Academy Award® and BAFTA-nominated director Sam Fell, comes Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, the eagerly anticipated sequel to the beloved and highest-grossing stop-motion animated film of all time, Chicken Run. Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy’s farm, Ginger has finally found her dream – a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger’s happy ending seems complete. But back on the mainland the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat.

Not seen on screens since her plans to turn a farmyard of animated chickens into pies were thwarted more than 20 years ago, Mrs. Tweedy — the evil arch-nemesis of Aardman’s 2000 stop-motion classic Chicken Run — has returned for the long-awaited sequel.
In the teaser trailer for Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget — which will have its world premiere at the London Film Festival before landing on Netflix Dec. 15 — Tweedy, again voiced by Miranda Richardson, is revealed as the supervillain for Ginger (Thandiwe Newton) and her flock once more, this time as the brains behind a terrifying new culinary invention threatening their existence, the chicken nugget.

The Hollywood Critics Association, which had recently been hit with allegations of malfeasance and accused of harboring a hostile membership environment, has completed an organizational restructuring that it believes will address those issues. The Hca was set to reveal those plans to its 180 members this afternoon, including a new name: The Hollywood Creative Alliance.
Hollywood Critics Association leader (and We Live Entertainment journo) Scott Menzel, who was at the center of much of the controversy, will still remain as CEO/president, but will be joined by a new board: vice chair Yong Chavez of Abs-cbn; member engagement head Jeandra LeBeauf of Black Girl Nerds; secretary Morgan Rojas of Cinemacy; and treasurer Louis Valentine, an external Cpa who will handle finances as an outside member. The Hca holds several awards shows every year that have been well attended by A-list talent, including ceremonies for both TV and film.

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, the long-awaited sequel to Aardman’s 2000 smash hit Chicken Run — still the most successful stop-motion animated feature of all time almost quarter of a century later — is set to get its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival.
The film, which The Hollywood Reporter first broke news of back in 2018 and was later swooped upon by Netflix, comes from Oscar and BAFTA-nominated director Sam Fell (ParaNorman, Flushed Away), and will bow on Oct. 14 at London’s Royal Festival Hall, with simultaneous preview screenings at sites around the U.K.
With the London Film Festival having last year screened the world premiere of Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, which went on to claim the Oscar for best animated feature, Academy favorites Aardman should be hoping that the festival proves to be a similarly successful springboard (while the original Chicken Run missed out on the 2001 awards,...

Brisbane, Aug 12 (Ians) Courtney Vine scored the decisive penalty as hosts Australia made history in the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Saturday by storming into their maiden semifinals, prevailing over France via penalties in a quarterfinal clash here.
After holding the European giants goalless in regulation time, the Matildas came out victorious 7-6 in the penalty shoot-out.
Vine converted the decisive penalty in a heart-stopping shootout and clinched a tense and hard-earned victory, thus making the Matildas the first Aussie team, male or female to reach the semifinals of a FIFA World Cup.
Though they were second-best for the bulk of the match, France began brightly and should have moved in front inside 13 minutes, but Maelle Lakrar failed from inside the six-yard box, scooping the ball over from the closest of ranges.

Match #1: Blair Davenport def. Roxanne Perez The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The reign of terror from Blair Davenport will continue as she defeated former Nxt Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez convincingly. The tenacity and ferociousness of Davenport were evident as the British Superstar tossed Perez around the ring, but Perez did manage to counter a superplex into a crossbody. Perez continued to fight back, but her attempt to take out Davenport on the outside backfired as she was sent face-first into the steel ring steps. That spelled the beginning of the end as moments later Davenport was able to hit Perez with a pair of crushing knee strikes that ended the match.

The Blackening is a potent blend of comedy, and thrills that parodies and challenges the genre’s tropes, specifically those around a mostly Black cast. Under the direction of Tim Story and script by Tracy Oliver, and Dewayne Perkins, the film pays homage to some iconic horror franchises like Scream, Friday the 13th, and Saw with a bit of Cabin In The Woods sprinkled in for some extra razzle dazzle. In the midst of the chaotic hijinks, the narrative centers Black American culture and all of its complexities. The film also stars Perkins, Jermaine Fowler, Antoinette Robertson, Dewayne Perkins, Sinqua Walls, Grace Byers, X Mayo, Melvin Gregg, with Yvonne Orji, and Jay Pharoah.
Things start at a cabin in the woods like most horror movies these days. Morgan (Orji) and Shawn (Pharoah), a couple who are a part of a group of college friends reuniting after 10 years. The plan is...

Martin Scorsese and his production company, Sikelia Productions, are being taken to court for allegedly reneging on a $1 million deal to executive produce a World War II movie.

Legendary Entertainment’s remake of the infamous 1978 box office hit Faces of Death (get it Here) is now filming in Louisiana, and Deadline reports that Jermaine Fowler of Sorry to Bother You, The Drop, Coming 2 America, and the upcoming horror comedy The Blackening has been cast in the movie. Sam Hunt‘s going to be a father of two. The “Make You Miss Me” singer on Friday night announced at his Las Vegas concert that he and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, are expecting baby No. 2.
An eyewitness at Resorts World Theatre tells Et the country music crooner told the crowd during his performance that he has baby No. 2 on the way. He also went on to say that Hannah and his 10-month-old daughter, Lucy Lu, were joining him in Vegas this weekend. Hunt is scheduled to perform another show Saturday night at the same venue.
Et has reached out to Hunt’s rep for comment.
The surprise announcement comes nearly a year after Hunt and Hannah welcomed their daughter. That announcement — made on stage while headlining a charity concert in Nashville, Tennessee — came just weeks after Hannah called off their divorce, which she filed for back in February 2022 citing “irreconcilable differences.
