Seattle based teen-focused social shopping hub Lockerz.com is backing The Homes, a web series starring Chelsea Kane (Jonas L.A.) and Minni Jo Mazzola (Parks and Recreation). The series features a group of friends in a band who trek across the United States to the score of indie rock with each episode featuring a song and a music video. Band members include actors Zach Cumer, Justin Stein, and Noah Hunt. Guest stars include Keiko Agena (Gilmore Girls), Sean Gunn (also Gilmore Girls), and R&B legend Gavin Christopher. Gilmore Girls‘ John Cabrera directed the 12 episode series. “I like to think of The Homes as sort of like a road trip across the landscape of indie rock,” he says. “Or like an interstate highway that winds through our love of music. Or like a robot that’s been programmed to defeat the current breakdancing world champion.” The Homes premieres new episodes...

Anybody who’s ever tried to put together Ikea furniture has learned that even when you start with all the right parts, sometimes they just don’t fit together in the right way. Family Dinner is the first web series created by The Young and the Restless actress Lauralee Bell and her husband Scott Martin. The pilot begins when desperate fame-hungry, mother Karen O’Connell (Bell) has a reality show producer (Dan Cortese of 90’s MTV fame and numerous sitcoms) join her family at the dinner table to document a typical O’Connell meal. At first Karen instructs the family to act "normal" and the producer isn't interested, but once their real dysfunction leaks out, he likes what he sees, and the dinner tapings become a weekly event. The concept is solid. Everybody thinks their family is “a little off”, so we can all get on board with the idea...

When we first wrote up the spooky, kid-themed web series Ghost Town last fall, we knew this one would find a home one way or another. It was just too well done not to. This week the series officially launched after signing an exclusive distribution deal with the video site DailyMotion as part of their newly launched Dm Kids site. Adding to the appeal of Ghost Town is teen star Alyson Stoner (Cheaper by The Dozen, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody) who joins two teenage ghost hunters, Jacob (Zach Cumer) and Marley (Gabriel Basso), forming the group ‘The Para-normals’ to track down ghosts in the mysterious coastal town of Arcade Bay. There's also a skittish teen ghost, Bones (William Corkery). The first season see the team on the trail of clues surrounding a recent string of bizarre occurrences following an accident at the Arcade Bay Tunnel Project.
