I don't know how to tell you this, but within the first six minutes of last night's The Good Wife, Alan Cumming kicked a swivel chair across the room, sneered at Jackie Florrick like the fanciest, nastiest "Vogue" backup dancer of all time, and suffered a conniption that I'd describe as "asthmatically debonair." It was heaven, ladies and gentlemen. And it was us. And then the whole episode decided to be gay. Which was both awesome and a little weird.
Get this: In the featured case, a collegiate water polo player died in a hazing ritual, and Diane and the opposition argued about whether the event was a black-on-black hate crime, a hate crime against a gay man, a hate crime against a "swishy" heterosexual, or none of the above. Strange, and troubling, and almost deep. We'll get to specifics momentarily, but you should know that the best thing about...

Now that we're headlong into an enjoyable season of Project Runway, it's time to play my favorite game: Ranking Years of Hotties. Heidi Klum's sartorial showdown may be a much different show now than when it premiered in 2004 (!), but the series' consistently hot male contestants remain a hallmark. Compare your listings with mine, gents.
10. Wesley Nault
His stay on season five was short-lived (only two episodes), but the unassumingly chic Wesley Nault left a favorable impression using two key items: 1) his underrated tablecloth/cups ensemble from the season-opening Gristedes challenge, and 2) his passion for wearing little shorts. Look at them. They are the littlest. And he is leggier than Juliet Prowse, thank God. After the show, he enjoyed a personal and professional partnership with fellow season five vet Daniel Feld.
9. Jay Sario

After Thursday's big win on Project Runway All-Stars, TheInsider.com caught up with Mondo Guerra, one of the most beloved designers in the history of the show, to talk fashion and life. The candid designer opened up about his winning collection, his televised meltdown and his how his life has been affected since coming out as HIV positive in season eight.
TheInsider.com: How does it feel to win Project Runway All-Stars?
Mondo Guerra: It has been time invested and it feels like such a relief. But I’ve really enjoyed the ride. I’ve really taken the opportunity of going on to Project Runway. The first time I ever stepped on that runway, I was ready to share that experience with people. I’ve always created stuff. And whether I am doing it in my studio, or doing it on television – it was just me continuing to work. Fortunately, I had...

Spoiler Alert! Click below only if you want to hear from the winner of the All Stars season of Project Runway.
It’s safe to say most viewers were rooting for Mondo Guerra to win the All Stars season of Project Runway. His loss to Gretchen Jones in the season 8 finale easily caused the biggest outcry in the series’ history, and he was back for redemption. Even though it wasn’t an easy road to victory, Mondo pulled through by consistently creating edgy, beautiful looks that stuck to his aesthetic yet surprised us week after week. For that, he was...

TheInsider.com caught up with Project Runway All-Stars' oh-so-colorful, buckets of fun designer Jerell Scott after his departure from the hit Lifetime show. From all dietary diva demands to whom he thought couldn't cut it, the candid Jerell spilled it all!
The Insider: Were you shocked to be sent home?
Jerell: It’s always a little shocking, but I definitely see the issues with my outfit. The black skirt was a little unnecessary. In my defense, going into it, had I ever designed anything for a black light? No, I hadn’t. My objective was to really control what the eye saw, but in retrospect I probably should have done it with some booty shorts or something like that, and come across a lot sexier. I know better than strappy sandals and panty hose! [laughs]
The Insider: How do you feel about leaving?

“Project Runway” took the competition up a notch with the avant-garde challenge. The challenge. The challenge issued to the designers was to create a daring dress that also included neon tape, fairy lights, and other special effects that would glow under a blacklight. Most of the designers had some struggles like Michael; Michael created about three dresses and picked the best one. Some others, like Jerell and Austin, felt they had the challenge locked down with their looks. Austin was the only one between him and Jerell that was correct about their designs, though; Austin won the challenge and won the prize, which was to have his design featured on...

Only 5 designers left on Project Runway All Stars. Each of the designers are talented in his or her own right so the only way to weed them out is through more unconventional challenges. This week the designers’ technological skills were put to the test in an avante-garde challenge. Some went safe and some were a little too crazy. They all ended up as Jerell put it: “either fabulous of fugly.”
This weeks challenge combined technology and fashion. The designers were to put together an avante-garde look using different types of lights. Pharrell Williams was the guest judge this week and the winning design would be worn by one of the artists he works with.
There is still not too much going on in the work. The only interesting thing was Michael and his usual antics. He ended up making an array of dresseds before he settled on his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle look.

"Then I felt her up, and that's when I finally realized I was definitely gay."
On this week's All Stars, the designers have to use lighting technology to create an avant garde design
This was another gimmick episode, but I didn't mind it as much as the others, because the designers really did have to create something the show has never done before, which was intriguing.
Favorite moment? "This could be the design that Jerrell is remembered for."
So how did the designers do? Below and on the following pages you can see the final designs and how they fared.
Austin Scarlett
The Winning Design. I loved this. It was cool, gorgeous, and deserved the win.
Jerell Scott
The Losing Design. I hated this. It was tacky, ugly, and deserved to lose
Kenley Collins

We're nearing the finish point on Project Runway: All Stars with just five designers still in the running to scoop the grand prize. So, what will Jerell, Mondo, Austin, Michael and Kenley have to do this week? It's the "biggest test of their skills so far", according to Angela, who reveals that they will have to incorporate light technology into their designs. Tomorrow night's runway will be lit by backlight and they will use lighting in their designs to create an avant-garde look. Just to add a bit of extra pressure, she reveals that this week's guest judge is Pharrell Williams (once voted best-dressed man in the world), who will be incorporating the winning design into the work of one of his artists. > Read Digital Spy's full Project Runway: All Stars headlines They've got $$300 to spend on lighting and $$300 to spend (more)...

In one of the strangest challenges of the season, the Project Runway All Stars were tasked with creating an avant garde look using lights on a black lit runway this week. Creative? Yes. Odd? Most definitely.
"When I Get My Dress in Lights" had me thinking more Judy Jetson than high fashion. LEDs, fiber optics, strings, pearl lights, fairy lights. You name it and it was being sewn into or onto a dress.
As the designers scurried through a lighting store, it appeared everyone was going neon but Austin. Austin Scarlett does not do neon and for that, I'm grateful.
Mondo lamented that Austin had become very high maintenance. Become? When was Austin ever low maintenance?
And what was up with the case of the disappearing mustache? In one shot he's clean shaven, the next he's got a furry lip and then it was seen in several stages in between.

TheInsider.com caught up with Project Runway All-Stars' color-blocking pro Mila Hermanovski after untimely departure from Lifetime's hit show. In the interview, Mila reveals what she thinks of all the big egos, who went home too early and whom she wants to win it all!

Project Runway took the All Stars to the Un in the latest episode to set the next challenge - to make dresses based on flags from countries around the world. Each designer is told by Angela Lindvall to pick a flag - they will then use its colour and the country's culture to influence their designs. Mondo gets to pick the first flag as he won last week's challenge and chooses Jamaica. Michael picks the Greek flag as he is Greek, while Mila opts for Papua New Guinea. Jerell chooses India, Austin goes for the Seychelles and Kenley is left with Chile. When Joanna Coles visits the designers in the work room, she admits that she is frustrated that most of the dresses couldn't be worn with a bra and warns Jerell that he could be taking the idea of saris too literally in his Indian-inspired dress, saying it looks...

Don't feel too bad for Mila Hermanovski now that she's been booted from "Project Runway All Stars." The axed designer is doing just fine preparing her new collection for Los Angeles Fashion Week and working on a little film you might've heard of -- the upcoming "Star Trek" sequel.
"I am very lucky to have been invited to contribute to the film 'Star Trek.' It's right up my alley," she tells Zap2it on a conference call the morning after her elimination. "It's been a pretty awesome job. The costume designer is Michael Kaplan and he's got quite the resume. It's just been awesome to be a part of the team."
That's a pretty nice consolation prize after Hermanovski's design inspired by the Papua New Guinea flag didn't get her through to the next round, a decision the designer isn't quite comfortable with. "I couldn't see how [the judges] couldn't appreciate my risk-taking,...

It was a pretty uneventful episode of Project Runway All Stars last night. The challenge was to design a dress inspired by the culture and flags of Jamaica, Greece, India, The Seychelles, Chile or Papua New Guinea. Thankfully guest judge Catherine Malandrino was on hand to add some more insightful critique to the judge’s panel.
The designers met at the United Nations to chose their inspirational flags. Mondo won last week’s challenge so he chose first. The pairings were as follows:
Mondo – Jamaica Michael – Greece Jerell – India Austin – Seychelles Kenley – Chile Mila – Papa New Guinea
Everyone got right to work but Austin struggled the most with his bright color choices. It looked like he just grabbed the colors from the flag without a clear idea of what he wanted to do. He hoped the fabric would speak o him but he ended up with nothing. Maybe Kara was...

"So I went ahead and sent that Cease & Desist letter to Zooey Deschanel"
On this week's All Stars, the designers visit the U.N. and must create a design based around flags from around the world.
At this point in the competition, I'll be shocked if Mondo, Michael and Austin aren't the final three ... but the show usually likes to throw a monkey wrench into the expectations, and it's possible that Kenley or Jerell could sneak in somehow.
My favorite moments were the small snipes at Kenley, who is totally faking ignorance of the fact she's ... limited.
So how did the designers do? Below and on the following pages you can see the final designs and how they fared.
Austin Scarlett
Country: Seychelles. Ill-fitting and unfinished. Even the model looks pissed.
Jerell Scott
Country: India. I think Austin said it best when he called it "vulgar and tasteless." And yet it wasn't the losing design.

Can someone wear underwear with that dress? That become the nagging question in "O! Say, Can You Sew?"
With a budget of $200, the Project Runway All Stars head to the United Nations, where they choose a nation's flag as inspiration. Unfortunately for them, their choices are limited. The goal is not too take the flag too literally but still not miss the mark. Does anyone get it right?
Joanna questions almost everyone. Jerell's working with India but, as Joanna says, his dress looks like it belongs on a doll in an Indian tourist shop. He seems to swing from one end of the pendulum to the other. One week his outfits are gorgeous and the next they make me cringe. This week, I'm cringing.
Austin's struggling with all of primary colors on the Seychelles flag. The blue and yellow he uses don't seem to work and the flowing chiffon looks unfinished.

Eleanor Rigby takes a moment to accessorize.
After last week's debacle, things are back to normal, and the right person went home.
On this week's All Stars, the designers must create a look of separates for a rich character in the Broadway show Godspell.
If they were going to do a Broadway show, I wish they would have chosen something like Spider-Man, if only to see Kenley's polka-dot Spidey costume, or Sister Act. Can you imagine what Mondo would do with a nun's habit?
But this if for Godspell, and after meeting iconic composer Stephen Schwartz (which even I found a thrill), they get to work on designing for actress Uzo Aduba , with Tony-winner Sutton Foster as guest judge.
My favorite moment was when Issac Mizrahi called Austin ... Austin Starlett, and Austin put him in his place.

See the headline above? That was the question Joanna seemed to be asking as she made her rounds of the work room this week. It had become obvious that not everyone was up to the task of "Putin' On The Glitz."
Rami's ouster last week had everyone on edge. Although life as a Project Runway contestant continued with Austin doing Kenly's hair and Jerell commenting that, although he was shocked, everyone would have to go some time so that he could get his check at the end.
Rami was a talented designer who pushed the edge and yet one bad week sent him home.
Now the remaining designers had to create an outfit for a rich character from the Broadway show "Godspell." The winner's outfit would be worn on stage and the designer's bio would end up in the Playbill. With a $200 budget at Mood, they were off and running.

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Episode 7 of Lifetime's "Project Runway All Stars."
There are only seven designers left on "Project Runway All Stars" and the pressure is building ... or at least they keep telling us that.
This week's episode begins with Jerell's deep thoughts about Rami's elimination the week before (or for him probably the night before): "The fact that he's gone is a bit of a game changer," says Jerell, who quickly recovers. "Can't be mad at that because eventually they all have to go, so I can get my check." Always with the sass, that guy.
The designers meet their lovely host Angela Lindvall at Circle in the Square theater, which Austin describes as representing "the pulse of New York in Times Square." Sure. If you think the city's biggest tourist trap is its heart and soul then Time Square is definitely it.

So this week we have the "Godspell" challenge, which will allow the judges a chance to cackle as they toss out one of their few (maybe only) reliable rules (don't go costumey!) to make the designers, well, go costumey. Welcome to Upside Down World, where good is bad and bad is good and, well, that's kind of "Project Runway" every damn week. Remember, it's not fun unless somebody cries! Speaking of Upside Down World, none of the designers can believe Rami got sent home next week. Jerell is especially flummoxed, as he actually liked Rami's outfit. No one says "God knows it...

TheInsider.com chatted with Project Runway: All-Stars' Rami Kashou after his too-soon departure from the Lifetime show. In the exclusive interview, Rami dishes on his design philosophy, being a sex symbol, his shocking exit and whether or not he is single!

Rami Kashou
When the current roster of designers for Project Runway: All Stars was announced, one of the clear favorites was Rami Kashou. Kashou, who nearly won Season 4 of Project Runway (Christian Siriano took the prize that year), has always been a fan fave not only for his good looks but also for his even-tempered approach to the often-stressful competition and his skilled and stunningly beautiful creations. Case in point, while some of the other designers during the All Stars season have been caught up in drama (Michael Costello and Jerell Scott in their copy-cat drama in last week’s episode, for example), Kashou kept his head down and produced design after design that had him winning the first week’s competition and repeatedly earning high scores.

The designers went head to head on last night’s episode of Project Runway All Stars. This week each designer chose an overnight bag and inside the bag was a season. With only 8 designers left that meant each season had two designers. They had to create a look based on the season that the customer could take with them on an overnight trip. The catch this week was the each pair would face off on the runway, one designer would have a high score and the other would end up in the bottom.
The pairs were as follows:
Fall: Mila vs. Rami
Summer: Mondo vs. Kenley
Spring: Austin vs. Kara
Fall: Michael vs. Jerell

The pressure of the face off was enough to create some workroom drama this week.Normally I don’t like Jerell but he had a point last night when Michael ripped off his look. Michael had...

Helen Mirren doesn't approve of workroom conflict
What a total and utter crock.
On this week's All Stars, the designers had to go head-to-head with another designer to create a sportswear look based on the four seasons.
If I told you that Austin, Michael, Mondo and Rami were in the bottom four, and Jerell, Mila, Kenley and ... Kara were the winners, would you believe it?
Welcome to Bizarro World.
The most interesting part of this week's show was the "conflict" between Jerell and Michael, with the latter once again accused of fashion plagiarism.
My favorite moment was when Joanna asked Michael where he got the inspiration, and he talked about sketches he had done. When she asked where they were, he went all hummana-hummana, "Um, they're around here somewhere." Hooker, please!
So how did the designers do? Below and on the following pages you can see the final designs and how they fared.

I’m going to come out and say it: Project Runway (regular and All-Stars) needs to send the Fashion Faceoff to the same dumpster that’s currently housing acid-washed denim, the 8-ball jacket, and anything ever worn by Randy Jackson on American Idol.
I understand that, on paper at least, when you’re down to eight designers, it’s got to be tempting to split them into four head-to-head matchups — sending the winners to safety, putting the four losers up for elimination, and pumping up the drama. But that kind of drama always ends up feeling contrived, and what’s more,...

The Project Runway All Stars were forced into a "Fashion Face Off" this week, and the claws came out as former friends turned on one another under the pressure.
When Angela brought out those weekender bags, I thought the same thing Mondo did: That the style of the bag would be used in the challenge. But it was a Runway fake out when Angela revealed they had nothing to do with the challenge. It was the cards inside that counted.
The designers were paired off to make sportswear for a specific season and they had to do it better than their partner if they didn't want to risk being sent home.
That's when things started to get catty. Michael didn't feel as though his fuzzy wuzzy bear fabric was working so he reworked his design. Unfortunately, it started to look a lot like partner Jerell's and Jerell took notice.

Sometimes you can just feel the drama coming. You know what I mean? Like snow, you can almost smell it inching nearer. And this season of "Project Runway All Stars" has been relatively sedate, so I say: Bring. It. On.
This week's episode begins with the designers seated companionably around a table at their hotel suite: "When I first got here I thought Kenley was obnoxious and annoying," confesses Mondo. "But I love to push her buttons."
Could it be? Should it be? Dare we imagine this is ... foreshadowing?
On the runway, Angela Lindvall is holding eight "getaway" bags, one for each designer. "Quite the bag lady," quips Jerell, who is fast becoming my favorite talking head.
Michael wishes her next line was, "Pack your bags! We're going to Paris." No such luck.

Got to love it when a designer has a target directly in his or her sights. Especially when said target is a fellow designer. On tonight's episode of Project Runway All Stars, the remaining eight contestants were split into pairs and asked to go mano a mano in a battle of the four seasons: two did winter looks, two summer, etc. And would you believe, with Mondo Guerra, Austin Scarlett, Michael Costello and Rami Kashou not competing against each other... They all ended up with the lower scores! Mila Hermanovski topped Rami in fall, Jerell Scott beat Michael (they really liked his look, but still) in winter, Kara Janx fared better than Austin in spring and Kenley Collins bested Mondo in...

Project Runway: All Stars' sixth episode opens with an interesting challenge. Angela meets the contestants at the runway with eight weekender bags in tow, allowing each to choose one. Within each bag is a luggage tag listing one of the four seasons, and contestants must create a piece of weekend sportswear matching the season they have chosen. Kara and Austin get spring, Michael C and Jerell get winter, Mondo and Kenley pull summer and Mila and Rami are left with autumn. Turns out, it's a fashion face off - for each season, they'll be a high score and a low score, with the low scores ending up in the bottom four. They are given $$200 and 24 hours to create their looks. After using their 30 minutes of sketch time, the group heads to Mood to pick their fabrics. Michael C is, of course, unsure what he's looking for, but the...

This week on “Project Runway All Stars,” the group had to create a look based on a muse–a person they’ve found on the streets of New York City that has amazing street style. They also had to make this look from the clothes others have given, literally off their backs. The challenge is a good challenge, one that should really test the mettle of the designers. Jerell, however, goes a little overboard with his design, making what can only be described as a weird conglomeration of patterns and colors. Jerell claims the outfit shows his love for ethnic fabrics, but his outfit also shows a lot of love to a...

The season started off slow but Project Runway All Stars is slowly turning around. With less conjured drama and better designs All Stars is shaping up to be one of the most satisfying season of the series.
Last nights challenge not only tested their design skills, but people skills as well. The designers met in Central Park to find a muse and convince her to give up the clothes off her back. They were given 150 dollars to bargain with and shop at Mood. The designer’s final look had to be comprised of half the muse’s clothes.
Anthony Williams, or “Lady Antoinetta” as Austin called him, stole the show. His loveable personality convinced multiple strangers to give up their clothes. He even got a young man to give up his jean shorts, leaving him alone in the park in his underwear.
The workroom was as light hearted as usual,...

On this week's All Stars, the designers had to find a stranger to act as a muse, and bargain for the clothes off their back to create a high fashion look
This was the most entertaining episode of the season so far, thanks to some sweet eye candy, the ever-entertaining Anthony, and hockey stud ally Sean Avery.
Whenever the show seems to focus on one designer over the others, it's a safe bet that said designer will either win that week's challenge ... or be sent packing. As soon as I noticed that we seemed to be getting more Anthony quips than usual, I knew he was in trouble. But even though he's gone, he'll always be remembered for introducing us to ... Diego.
Below you can see the designers talk about the unique difficulty of this challenge, i.e. the "public funk." No amount of Febreeze can hide the stench!
So how did the designers do?...

As Tim Gunn might say, I’m feeling vexed and a little bit dubious about the conundrum that was this week’s Project Runway All-Stars. On one hand, the designer responsible for the season’s most atrocious outfit didn’t even land in the Bottom 2, and yet I can’t honestly argue with the judges’ choice for elimination. Alas, though, the latter contestant also happened to be the season’s go-to source for zippy quips.
This week’s challenge was simple, yet inspired: Troll the streets of New York, and find a muse (or muses) willing to give (or sell...

This week's "Project Runway All Stars" opens with one of my favorite reality show conceits: The host pretends that she planned the challenge!
"Welcome to Central Park," says Angela Lindvall. "I thought it would be nice for you to get out of the house, get some fresh air and sunshine." And by that she means, "The producers made us come out to this stupid, hot park in the middle of summer. Is anyone else sweating profusely?"
The designers must each approach total strangers, isolate a muse and also, (in what they keep calling an "'All Stars' Twist!") collect clothing off the backs of anyone who will give it up. They have a $150 budget, which they can use to buy said clothing and/or fabric at Mood, but -- either way --...

The Project Runway All Stars had to convince total strangers in Central Park to give them their outfits this week.
I can only imagine all of the editing that went into this episode. I'm sure many New Yorkers aren't very friendly with their refusals when some stranger asks for the "Clothes Off Your Back"
Anthony thinks he's got the edge because you need a personality to get someone to disrobe for you. To prove it, he gets some guy to take his shorts off, which leaves him hanging out in his underwear in the middle of the park. No dressing room necessary.
Of course, Austin's the one who runs over and gets his phone number. It's all about multi-tasking and no one says you can't pick up a date while you're searching for your muse.
With whatever funds they have left, the designers are allowed to go shopping at...

Faced with a "wagon wheel coffee table" in "When Harry Met Sally," Carrie Fisher's character Marie famously quips, "Everybody thinks they have good taste and a sense of humor, but they couldn't possibly all have good taste."
Truer words were never spoken, at least when it comes to this week's episode of "Project Runway All Stars." The challenge is supposedly "all about taste" on many levels, but everyone seem most concerned with the pun.
Angela Lindvall announces that the designers are to "create a tasteful outfit inspired by the colors and flavors of a seriously tasty dessert: gelato!" Really? It seems to me that there are more inspiring sweets, but what the heck?
On the runway, they feature a cart bearing the brand "L'Arte del Gelato" and ask the designers to pick flavors.

On this week's All Stars, the designers have only six hours to design a look around a flavor of gelato.
The most entertaining part of this episode was watching Michael's face run the gamut of shocked, from "I Need a Moment" shocked, to "Taylor-Swift" shocked. It was actually quite endearing.
Because the designers only had six hours from start to runway (the shortest challenge in the show's history), the tension was kicked up a notch. The fact that Diane Von Furstenburg was a judge added to the sense of urgency. And because of the time constraints, I'm going to grudgingly overlook such horrific moments as "Where's my glue gun?" and "I'm going to have to sew the model in to the design." *shudder*
Unfortunately, mentor Joanna Coles just isn't working for me, and frankly, I don't think she's necessary. She was ridiculous this episode, as she scolded the designers with...
