American Idol fans are fuming about the voting and they claim that Nya should have won, but instead, she was eliminated. Actually, there has been more drama this season, and it seems that Katy Perry might not be missed after they called her out for being “cruel” to Odell Bunton Jr. She’d made him think he was out when he was really passed through by the judges.
American Idol Final 12 Elimination Makes Fans Mad
The reality TV talent show already upset a lot of people when the judges kept Kayko and sent away Abby Blake. You might recall that Abby was the original applicant and Kayko only accompanied her on the piano. Well, he got offered a ticket to Hollywood, and ultimately, the main contestant left the show before he did. So, viewers slammed the judges for that. Their angry opinions didn’t change the outcome though.

“I’m definitely not the inventor of gay pop,” she admitted. “But I do wanna be a piece of making it bigger than it already is. I wanna bring more attention to it.

As far as guitarists are concerned, it doesn’t get much more legendary than Queen’s Brian May and Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi. The two icons come together in a new video as they perform the Sabbath classic “Paranoid.”
The pairing of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers comes courtesy of the Sky Arts documentary series Greatest Guitar Riffs. The UK television channel premiered the clip via Guitar World, and it shows the guitar masters discussing the first time they met in the early ’70s, with Iommi declaring that they’ve been “best friends ever since.”
When May asks Iommi where all his great riffs come from, the Sabbath legend responds, “I think it’s within. Normally, we’d jam around and play something, and Ozzy [Osbourne] would go, ‘What the fuck’s that?’ But it just feels right.”

We will, we will block you. It seems that concert footage of Queen is being flagged and removed from social media platforms. And while this might initially seem like the doing of Queen, guitarist Brian May is far from supporting it, even apologizing to fans who have tried to share their favorite live songs online.
Brian May — who, along with Roger Taylor, has been a member of Queen since 1970 — took to Instagram to address the concern, saying Universal has turned “Draconian” through their task. But he wants to break free from the assumption he and the band had any say in removing the videos. “The decision to take these videos down certainly hasn’t come from us, the band. hopefully we will get an answer soon. Meanwhile, be extra careful and l’m sorry you good folks of good intentions have been put in this position.”

Kate Middleton’s annual Christmas carol concert is almost here. And one element is bound to “enrage” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. A commentator says 2023’s Together at Christmas theme isn’t likely to go over well with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The reason? The show’s connection to Meghan’s time as a working royal.

When Queen + + Adam Lambert launched the 2023 leg of their Rhapsody tour last week, they dipped deep into the Queen catalog and resurrected the 1984 deep cut “Is This the World We Created…?” for the first time since Lambert stepped into the role as frontman. The song was written in response to African poverty and was famously played at Live Aid in 1985, but it took on a new meaning at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday night in the aftermath of the massacre in Israel.

Queen ruled Baltimore’s Cfg Bank Arena Wednesday night (October 4th) as they kicked off their North American “Rhapsody Tour.”
Original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor — plus vocalist Adam Lambert — spent two hours tearing through over two dozen Queen tunes, with a career-spanning setlist that featured both their biggest hits as well as fan-favorite deep cuts.
Notably, the band played “Is This the World We Created…?” live with Lambert for the first time, and dusted off “Stone Cold Crazy” after more than five years.
May, Taylor, and Lambert were backed by Queen’s longtime keyboard player Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough, and percussionist Tyler Warren, comprising an ensemble whose sound filled the entire arena. It was a night that served as a tribute to Freddie Mercury, keeping his songs and spirit alive without ever overshadowing his bright legacy.

As the use of artificial intelligence becomes more prevalent in the music industry and beyond, Queen guitarist and astrophysicist Brian May has a particularly relevant perspective on the phenomenon, given his extensive musical and scientific backgrounds.
In a recent interview with Guitar Player, May was asked about the implications of widespread implementation of AI overall, which he believes can both benefit and harm humanity.
“I think a lot of great stuff will come from AI, because it is going to increase the powers of humans to solve problems,” May said. “But the potential for AI to cause evil is, obviously, incredibly huge — not just in music, ’cause nobody dies in music, but people can die if AI gets involved in politics and world domination for various nations. I think the whole thing is massively scary. It’s much more far-reaching than anybody realized — well, certainly than I realized.”

While receiving amfAR’s Award of Inspiration at the AIDS nonprofit’s Venice gala on Sunday night, Ava DuVernay recalled the first time she fell in love with movies.
“It was the original ‘West Side Story,'” DuVernay said. “The colors, the Brown people, the romance, warring gangs, dance fighting, Maria and Tony… it ignited my passion for film and led me to leave Compton, Calif. and speak to all of you in a 16th century old school building in Venice.”
Held at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, an imposing building featuring walls embossed with centuries-old Venetian art, this year’s amfAR Venezia kicked off with a cocktail hour where guests could admire the art that would be on auction later that night, including pieces from Andy Warhol and Slim Aarons. The event included performances from Leona Lewis and Rita Ora, backed by a live string orchestra, while guests including Bella Thorne,...

Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls” has been quietly omitted from the band’s Greatest Hits compilation on Yoto, a new children’s streaming platform.
The 1978 hit — written solely by the band’s Brian May — raised some eyebrows upon its release with lyrics like “Left alone with big fat Fanny/ She was such a naughty nanny/ Heap big woman, you made a bad boy out of me.” While the song technically doesn’t use any explicit language, the cover of the single originally featured a completely naked woman riding a bicycle; underwear was later edited on in later pressings.
Neither Yoto or any of Queen’s reps have commented on the matter, but apparently, some folks are chalking up the absence of “Fat Bottomed Girls” to “woke cancel culture”: “It is the talk of the music industry, nobody can work out why such a good-natured, fun song can’t be acceptable in today’s society,...

When he woke up to the Emmy nominations on July 12, Mike Yurchuk wasn’t necessarily shocked to see the musical comedy game show he executive produces along with Jimmy Fallon and Jim Juvonen, “That’s My Jam,” nominated for Best Game Show. The sixth annual Unl Disruptivator Summit, the largest youth conference in the Southeast, will take place July 19-21 on the campus of Georgia State University. More than 300 students are expected to participate in the two-day conference, designed to offer training, mentorship, and practical tools to help prepare high school students for future leadership roles.
The 2023 Unl Disruptivator Summit is the most comprehensive youth conference in the 24-year history of Usher’s New Look, founded by musical artist and philanthropist Usher Raymond IV. Since 1999, Unl has helped transform the lives of more than 55,000 young people. Unl and its programs provide critical resources and support for youth disproportionately affected by the issues of poverty, educational inequality, and health disparities.
