American actor Bradley Cooper is currently awaiting Sunday.s night.s Best Supporting Actor announcement to see if he.ll be rewarded for his work in David O. Russell.s American Hustle, and he.ll soon be going off to film Clint Eastwood.s true crime drama American Sniper. So it makes perfect sense that the Older Than America actor, who was also in Wet Hot American Summer, is attached to produce and star in American Blood, the adaptation of the upcoming novel from New Zealand author Ben Sanders. I have to assume this is his long con in campaigning for the role of Amerigo Vespucci in an upcoming biopic. Warner Bros. beat out a handful of other studios to acquire the rights to the book, according to THR, including several TV companies. At 24-years old, Sanders already has three bestselling novels under his belt, all clever crime thrillers with...

Bradley Cooper is nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar this year for his work on “American Hustle.” Sometime later this year, he should probably star in “American Sniper,” a project he’s spearheading as producer with Clint Eastwood directing, and there’s one more 'American' film to come. THR reports that Warner Bros. has acquired rights to “American Blood,” an upcoming crime novel by Ben Sanders. Cooper will produce and star in the story of an NYPD officer-turned-mob-informant who is pulled into a dangerous investigation involving a missing woman while living in the witness protection program in New Mexico. Andrew Sodroski, who is writing Errol Morris’ upcoming “Holland, Michigan” will adapt the script. Meanwhile, Seth MacFarlane’s “Ted 2,” the sequel to the highly successful live-action/CGI hybrid starring Mark Wahlberg is casting up. But apparently you won’t have Mila Kunis this time. The Wrap reports that Amanda Seyfried...

Bradley Cooper has his pick of projects right now. Proving himself to be more than just a pretty face in recent years, the actor has turned into a bonafide leading man, showing us that he can bring in both money at the box office and praise from critics. After an excellent turn in David O. Russell’s American Hustle last year, Cooper is taking a bit of a break from the dramatic side of film and will next appear in Marvel’s more light-hearted and humor-filled intergalactic adventure Guardians of the Galaxy. After that, however, he’ll be going back to something more serious as he’s now in talks for American Blood, based on Ben Sanders’ forthcoming novel of the same name.
Warner Bros. purchased the rights to the novel after being impressed with Sanders’ 50-page proposal and they’ve set Andrew Sodroski (Holland, Michigan) to pen the script.
