- Gaffer, Best Boy, on set, off set, Rigging Gaffer, Rigging Best Boy - I decided they are all positions I should say yes to depending on the job and who's asking me to do it. I believe its important to keep learning and understanding all aspects of the lighting department, its coordination to cinematography and production requirements, whilst keeping me up to date with the latest tools, techniques and technology as the rate of development and change in set lighting continues to accelerate. Only accepting work as a gaffer would mean the end of my up-skilling, just when things are changing so rapidly. When I gaffer for you, you can be assured that my ideas / suggestions / judgement and decision making is based on exposure to a wide and up to date professional experience and best practice observations. There's many ways to do many things, some are quicker, some are safer and some are cheaper - there might even be one that is all 3. I aim to be able to give my cinematographers, producers and production managers the best options available, working as a partner to deliver our directors vision to the audience, within the time and budget constraints of every and any shoot day. Most importantly, I still get the most satisfaction from producing beautiful, memorable, emotional images that are recorded forever and will outlast me. After more than 20 years lighting sets, I still enjoy the process and appreciate the relationships forged under the pressure of a long, demanding day on set - its important to take the time to squeeze in some humour during our long days and nights together.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Blair Teesdale / Gaffer / Owner - Operator / Bounce Gaffer Services Ltd - New Zealand +64 21 1267278
