Beyonce‘s career breakthrough came in the 1990s as a teenage member of Destiny’s Child. But since then she has established herself as one of the biggest music stars of the 21st century. So naturally it’s challenging to narrow down the greatest hits of her career … not that we let that stop us from trying, though. Scroll down for our countdown of her best songs — including “Countdown”! Do you agree with how we rank them?
Destiny’s Child had several hits including “Survivor” and “Bills, Bills, Bills,” but it was “Say My Name” that earned Beyonce her first Grammys when she was only 19: Best R&b Duo/Group Performance and Best R&b Song. She has since become one of the most awarded individuals in Grammy history, the most awarded woman in history, and the most nominated woman in history. But most of the top categories have eluded her.

Many of the defining hits of the past 25 years have been Beyoncé songs. She’s reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 a total of eight times as a solo artist. Despite this, some of her No. 1 singles have been much more impressive than others.
Beyoncé | Kevin Winter / Staff 8. ‘Check On It’
“Check on It” is a song about sexual teasing. That’s not really a subject matter that flies today, but the tune might be more tolerable if it had a better beat. The production here sounds like nothing and Slim Thug’s verses don’t add any extra spice to the track. Regardless, Queen B’s star power brought this to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
7. ‘Savage’
Beyoncé and Meghan Thee Stallion is a wining combination in theory. In practice, the beat of “Savage” sounds like an unfinished demo so all the effort both artists bring to the lyrics feels a little wasted.

Nrg Stadium, where the Texans play; a diamond-encrusted grill; a modified Cadillac, lowered to the ground with its trunk open to reveal the kind of sound system made especially for his city’s unique style of music. Slim Thug was trolling. Like many Americans, the threat of coronavirus seemed like an otherworldly concern and not a force that’d begin to change the fabric of daily existence. “I was saying stay home and yelling. I was telling people they were going to get it,” Thug says. “I was even making jokes about the NBA with the players who got it.”
Then, just a week later, the Houston rapper informed his million-plus Instagram followers that he had tested posted for the virus, sharing a video of the experience.

It's Father's Day -- and as the rest of us give a big hug to our papa bears ... these famous folks are pretty much doing the exact same thing. Lots of stars took to social media Sunday to celebrate the holiday -- whether that meant honoring their own dads with a selfie, or snuggling up with their kids. Take, for example, Tom Brady -- who's got three children of his own -- cozying up with the tykes in his bed.

John D. Tucker, Director Pas Honteux
Directed by John D. Tucker Pas Honteux is the story of a young African American slacker who wakes up one day speaking only French. The film brings to light the fact that we not only judge people by their looks but also by the way they speak.
So, what if a young urban African American wakes up and suddenly speaks only French?
The film begins and takes off from there and must be seen to be believed. It jumps from modern hip-hop inspired visuals to sharp contrast new wave bringing new meaning to both styles of filmmaking.
It turns out that the only person he can now communicate with is an older homeless street dwelling man who can speak French to him and they bond.
The film stars Travis Labranch (Shots Fired), Leon Lamar, and Javicia Leslie, is written by Sundance Alum Marcus J.

Just weeks after Beyonce debuted "Bow Down / I Been On," a remix has dropped.
Led by Houston rapper Bun B, the "I Been On" remix premiered on Houston's Kbxx's 97.9 on Friday -- take a listen above.

The recording artist Prince appears to have thumbed his nose at both the Internal Revenue Service and the French.
Acting on behalf of French tax authorities, the IRS summoned Prince -- né Prince Rogers Nelson -- to make an appearance with the tax man in order to determine if he owed taxes to France for performances in that country in 2009 and 2010, according to Bloomberg.
But the recording star was a no-show for the recent summons request. A court has been asked to enforce the matter.
Prince also has had tax troubles in his home state of Minnesota and had to make amends for $1.3 million in delinquent property taxes he owed for 2009 and 2010.
Tax troubles are nothing new for musicians. Lauryn Hill, who has won eight Grammy awards, pleaded guilty in June for not paying taxes on $1.5 million she earned over three years.
R. Kelly also has a history of tax avoidance.

The Lonely Island, the rap group known for comedic hip-hop videos on "Saturday Night Live," has been sued in New York by two St. Louis-based musicians for allegedly failing to give credit for beats used in two of their songs, according to Entertainment Weekly.
According to plaintiffs Aleric "Rick Tha Rular" Banks and Monique "Foxx StarStrukk" Hines, the pair sent beats that would be used in the songs "Shy Ronnie" and "Like a Boss" to The Lonely Island, which is comprised of Andy Samberg, Akiva Shaffer and Jorma Taccone, in 2008. However, Banks and Hines were never compensated for their work, nor were they given proper credit. The video for "Shy Ronnie" was later nominated for an Emmy, and "Like a Boss," which is a lyrical parody of the song "Like a Boss" by Slim Thug but uses a different beat, was released on their first album "Incredibad."

Real Spit: Killa Kyleon may still be making a name for himself in rap, but the Houston Mc is no rookie.
The seasoned Southern spitter got his start running alongside Big Pokey, Chris Ward and DJ Screw's Screwed Up Click, before really making an impact with Slim Thug's group Boss Hogg Outlawz. It's his gruff vocal tone, butter flow and hard-nosed lyrics that make Killa Kyleon a fan favorite. On his latest mixtape, Candy Paint N Texas Plates 2, Killa puts it all on display.
With the tape's 21 soul-drenched tracks, Killa Ky hooks up with notable producers like Lex Luger, Cookin' Soul and Cy Frye to lay his sound bed.

We look back on Queen B's impressive run before she hits the stage on Sunday.

Beyoncé is not only up for three Moonmen at the 2011 Video Music Awards, she's also slated to storm the Vma stage live on Sunday night. But she's certainly no stranger to the big show.
The Queen B was still with her Destiny's Child girls — Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams — when she shared a win for Best R&B Video back in 2000. The group would go on to rack up 10 nominations and two statues over the course of their career.
By 2003, though, Beyoncé had gone solo, quickly proving she was a force to be reckoned with. And it was her performance at that year's awards ceremony that helped launch one of the most impressive Vma careers in the show's illustrious history.

In a surprising move, Slim Thug releases a music video for "Miss Mary" which can be found in his 2005 debut album "Already Platinum". The video is directed by DJ Young Samm from Break Dem Boyz Off, showing the rapper drowning himself in smokes and junk food while grieving over the loss of his Miss Mary.
The Cool & Dre-produced song was never made a single before the video treatment and it is yet unclear whether it would make one now. Thug tweeted in explanation of giving it a video treatment, "I just put out a video on Wshh for a song off of my 1st album miss Mary cause y'all asked me to on twitter."
Thug's latest release "Tha Thug Show" was dropped in November last year. He would re-team with Boss Hogg Outlawz for a new installment of their "Serve and Collect" series. Called simply "Serve and Collect 3", the collaborative...

The "Britain's Got Talent" runner-up continues to dominate the Billboard 200 at gift-giving time as her second effort, The Gift will slide back up to the #1 position on the chart next week on sales of 272,000, pushing her one-month total over the 1.1 million mark, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.
That was more than enough to hold off the #2 album, Taylor Swift's Speak Now, which lost nearly 25 percent of its business from the previous week, but still managed to sell 182,000 copies, enough to cross the 2 million threshold in just six weeks.

Slim Thug thinks he might have veered too far left on his debut album, 2005's Already Platinum. And the follow up, last year's Boss of All Bosses might have shot off to the right a bit too much.
But for his latest salvo, Tha Thug Show, released this week, the Texas titan said he hit right on the mark.
"My aim for this album was to give the fans the Already Platinum feel and my second album and even it out," he told MTV News. "The response I've been getting has been good. But my first album was kind of mainstream with all the Pharrell stuff, but the people of Houston felt like they didn't get enough of the old Slim Thug.

Though B.o.B had been signed to Atlantic Records since the mid-aughts, 2010 was actually the first year people outside underground hip-hop got to experience what he was all about. A year ago, despite being a fixture on MTV's Mixtape Daily, Bobby Ray was stuck in major-label limbo and contemplating giving it all up.
Now, taking into account his buzz, commercial success and impact, the MTV News Hip-Hop Brain Trust has selected B.o.B as the #9 Hottest Mc in the Game, his first appearance on the list.
B.o.B had a handful of minor looks over the years, yet never one that catapulted him to stardom. There was his 2007 trance-rap single "Haterz Everywhere" and, a year later, the song "I'll Be in the Sky." There were...

From sitting behind the wheel of "Maybach Music" series, Rick Ross goes to another luxury ride, "Aston Martin Music". The music video sees a young Ross dreaming of owning one vehicle he can be proud of. Now that he is one of the big Hip-Hop forces who has released a number of chart-busting singles, buying an Aston Martin car of course is easy thing to do.
Ross proudly takes his lady for a road trip around the town like he always does in his previous "living-good-life" music videos. Drake and Chrisette Michele who lend their vocal in the track also make cameos in it, showing their support.
When walking the white carpet of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in mid September, Ross said, "We were just going over treatments for 'Aston Martin Music'. We're going to shoot the dope version: Drake's going to be rapping his verse and Chrisette [Michele will be there] and most definitely me.

Rapper Paul Wall has apologized for beating a fan with a microphone during a concert in Texas, insisting he will "learn and grow" from the incident. The hip-hop star was performing with fellow rapper Slim Thug at the Low Low Car Show in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday, September 26 night when a man in the front row started waving his middle finger at the hitmaker.
Wall, real name Paul Slayton, exchanged some heated words with the rude concert-goer before allegedly hitting him with a microphone. Now the star has issued an apologetic statement to TMZ.com, in which he writes, "I want to sincerely apologize to my San Antonio Fans (sic) for allowing myself to become distracted during my recent performance."
"I apologize for temporarily taking my eyes off that goal. I will learn and grow from this incident and be a better person, artist and performer as a result.

The sports world is in mourning today, as iconic New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner passed away early this morning at the age of 80. The extremely quotable, always-intense Steinbrenner set a remarkable precedent for sports owners, as he turned the position from a quiet spot behind closed doors into a pulpit that could turn you into a superstar. Think of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban or Dallas Cowboys head honcho Jerry Jones — neither of them would be possible without the dynamism, public awareness and occasional off-the-handle nuttiness of Steinbrenner.
Steinbrenner purchased the New York Yankees (who were a struggling franchise at the time) for $10 million in 1973 (staggering considering the estimated value of the team today is over $1 billion). He became known as much for his volatility as he did for his winning ways. The Yankees won the World Series seven times and were perennial contenders during his tenure as owner,...

Drake, Bun B, the Game, Juvenile and the Geto Boys' Willie D all performed as a part of the Rap-a-Lot set. Drake paid homage to the late Pimp C as he and Bun joined forces for "Get Throwed.
