- From 1998 to 2003 he created, wrote and co-produced comedy & entertainment series for BBC Wales Television.
- Alan is the ghost writer of several autobiographies including "Freddie Starr: Unwrapped!" and "The Big Thick Joe Pasquale Book" as well as the co-author (with Garry Chambers) of "The Lightbulb Joke Book".
- Alan's writing career was profiled in the retro film and television magazine "Infinity" #42 published in November 2021. A follow-up article will appear late in 2022.
- Alan was Script Associates on Richard Digance's TV series and specials for London Weekend Television between 1991 and 1997 - including "AbracaDigance", "A Drop Of Digance", "Digance In Scotland" and "Digance In A Field Of His Own".
He also collaborated with Richard on the the stage play "Sex, Spangles And Sensible Shoes" which toured the U.K. in 1994 after a two-week run at the Key Theatre, Peterborough. - Since 2021 he's supplied comedy material to Great British Radio - available on DAB in London & The Home Counties , from September 2022 in Newcastle and everywhere online, mobile 'phone and smart speaker.
He also ghost-writes a comedian's weekly blog and newspaper column and to date has written over 25 full-length pantomime scripts.
