A native of Los Angeles, Sam attended Fairfax High School where he was
a football player and activist. During high school he worked as a post
production assistant at Video Box Studios. After high school he moved
to Colorado to teach leadership and survival skills at a wilderness
program for at-risk youth and teens.
Two years later he returned to Los Angeles and resumed his film and television career. He shifted into production as an assistant production coordinator and soon found his way into assistant directing. Sam has worked as a first and second assistant director on an assortment of independent films, reality series', music videos and commercials. He honed his creative skills producing sizzle reels for a variety of clients.
Sam has produced two short films: "Kill Quincy Wright" (directed by Nick Borges; 2007) and "Prelude in E minor" (directed by Luca Escriva De Laurentiis; 2009). While working on Prelude, Sam and his longtime friend, actor/filmmaker Max Roeg, forged a professional bond that led to their short film directorial debut on "D is for Deception."
