Magan De'Light Stephen
- Additional Crew
Magan De'Light Stephen was born March 7, 1986, in Orange, California to
Tory and Liz Stephen. She grew up much of her younger life in Orange
County with her parents and her younger brother, Jacob Holton Stephen.
Magan loved her early childhood, for much of it was either spent
playing at the beach, going to "Angels" games, and going to Disneyland!
Her father at that time was a contractor, and her mother was a teacher; so she learned at an early age the importance of hard work, being dependable, honest, and education.
However, her father not having any college education, and always wanting to be an architect, moved the family to Blacksburg, Virginia so that he could pursue his college experience at Virginia Tech. While in Virginia, Magan was diagnosed with Dyslexia. However, she found that she was able to express herself artistically. In Virginia she began to learn pottery, from her dad, and a world renowned Potter, David Crane, who once made a comment to her father that it was so refreshing to see her work because it was so pure, and not something tarnished by the want of perfection like so many of his students.
She also found that she loved photography, and has continued to express herself through that medium; as well as, drawing, fashion design, sewing, baking/cooking/culinary arts, writing, and having a complete fascination with music and even more so with Film in its entirety!
After her father finished his education, the family moved back to California.
She has always loved to sing and act, and had, in various forms, done so since she was very young. In high school, she became actively involved in the school's Drama program. She was the Drama Club President her last year. She also involved in the school's "young" film program.
She was in her junior year of high school when her family decided that they wanted to move back East. So, she was able to graduate a year early through an independent home study program.
After a surfing accident, Magan seriously injured her left knee. When she met with the specialist, he was in shock. He ordered for surgery immediately, to completely replace her ACL. He exclaimed that the ACL was completely torn, and the worst ACL/in the worst condition he had ever seen in his entire career or profession.
Due to Magan's severe physical difficulties, and the challenges she has had with her learning disability, she for some time was beginning to lose hope for her dreams. But thankfully for the diligent love and support of her family, and close friends, such as Mr. McKinney, she is pressing onward. She hopes that she will eventually be able to reach her ultimate dream of becoming a director, producer, and screenwriter.
