- Born and raised in Madrid, Andrés develops a curiosity for film and music early on. He studies Communications and sets off a career in post-production working as an editor for MediaPro, one of the Spanish leading production companies. His credits as an editor in Spain include Callejeros (2005) and El intermedio (2006).
Concurrently, he works on developing a career in film music. In 2006 he composed music for the animation Going Nuts (2006), with a nationwide theatrical release, in what became the first feature film in the world to feature peanuts as the main characters. The score earned Andrés national recognition with the Ateneo Coste Cero Award in 2008 for Best Soundtrack. Shortly after, Andrés writes a score for the documentary Disney: Through the Looking Glass (2010), exploring the uncertain origins of Walt Disney. The score for this Spanish-North American co-production earned him his first Jerry Goldsmith Award after 5 years of consecutive nominations.
In 2010, Andrés moved to Los Angeles to complete his education. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Film Production from Chapman University in California, and started working with directors of the stature of Randal Kleiser (Grease, White Fang) and Terrence Malick (To the Wonder, Knight of Cups). His recent film credits include Romany Malco's (40-year old virgin, Weeds) directorial debut Tijuana Jackson: Purpose Over Prison (2018) and the fantasy action Jiu Jitsu (2020), starring Nicolas Cage and Tony Jaa. He also produced the soundtrack for Defrost: The Virtual Series (2019), using the immersive formats Dolby Atmos VR and Facebook 360.
