Punk supergroup L.S. Dunes released their Lego-themed video for “Grey Veins” last month. Now, Lego has apparently contacted the band’s label Fantasy Records to remove the clip.
Frank Iero, of My Chemical Romance fame and a guitarist in L.S. Dunes, took to social media to issue a statement regarding Lego’s legal action. More than anything, Iero was offended that a company that encourages creativity such as Lego, of which he’s been a lifelong loyal customer, would try to stamp out one his own creative endeavors.
Along with photos of his Lego VIP card and pics from Legoland as proof of his dedication to the tiny bricks, Iero posted the following open letter to Lego on Twitter:
“Dear @lego, why are you having your lawyers call my record label (@fantasyrecords) and demand we take down the @LSDunes music video we made for our song Grey Veins?...

On the eve of the My Chemical Romance reunion concert, it’s 48 degrees Fahrenheit, or the coldest Los Angeles ever really gets. But outside the Shrine Expo, where the band will stage their first concert together in seven years, several young fans are huddled behind the merch trailers, hoping to catch a glimpse of their heroes as they presumably leave soundcheck. Mabel, a blue-haired 22-year-old from São Paulo, says she spent all her airline miles to fly here from Brazil.

Welcome to the Black Parade: a depressing event we hold every year on the anniversary of My Chemical Romance's breakup. Their famous last words came on March 22, 2013, when they posted a heartfelt note on their Facebook. "Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing," they began. "We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure." Well that adventure has been over for five years now, and the ghost of MCR still haunts us to this day. Read on to see what the former...

“You’re carrying around some old man on your shoulders. Some demon’s got you deep in its clutches. He’ll follow you to the end.” For Max Bornstein, the end could come prematurely, as his heroin addiction, withholding of secrets from his family, and illegal dealings within the pornography industry take a terrible toll on his body and mind in Dynamite: A Cautionary Tale.
Set in 1970’s-era New York City, Dynamite: A Cautionary Tale is based on a true story. With production successfully wrapped on the film, and an Indiegogo campaign recently launched to aid in the post-production process, we caught up with director Tate Steinsiek to discuss being drawn to Max’s real life story, shooting a period piece during the winter in New York City, transitioning from makeup effects work to the director’s chair, and much more.

New York — The chemistry is over: rock outfit My Chemical Romance has disbanded.
The New Jersey-based band announced Saturday that "it has come time for it to end." The foursome thanked fans in a statement and said the experience was "a true blessing."
My Chemical Romance's sound is a mix of alternative, punk rock and pop. Band members released their debut album in 2002 but really made a splash on the music scene in 2004 with the platinum-selling "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge." It featured the top-40 hit "Helena."
They followed that with another platinum effort in 2006, "The Black Parade," earning their first top-10 pop hit with the song "Welcome to the Black Parade."
The group said they've "shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends."
Group members included vocalist Gerard Way, bassist Mikey Way and guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero.

My Chemical Romance will release a collection of new music over the coming months. The band have confirmed plans to release 10 new tracks over the next five months as part of their Conventional Weapons series via their official website. The songs were recorded in 2009 during the sessions for their fourth studio album, which they then ditched to record their latest record Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys. 'Boy Division' will be the first track to receive a 7" vinyl digital release on October 30, along with B-side 'Tomorrow's Money'. My Chemical Romance are set to return to the studio and begin work on the follow-up to 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, though they're keeping details of the project close to whatever kind of vest (Studded? Bandolier-ed? DayGlo?) they're wearing these days.
That's according to guitarist Frank Iero, who revealed the info earlier this week in an interview with New Jersey's The Aquarian Weekly (MCR are one of the headliners at this weekend's Bamboozle fest in Asbury Park, New Jersey, replacing Blink-182) but was tight-lipped about pretty much everything else.

If anything makes us want to stare out a rain-spattered window with mascara-stained tears running down our cheeks, it’s hearing that My Chemical Romance fired drummer Michael Pedicone. “The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over,” the band’s guitarist Frank Iero posted on their site last Friday. “He was caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show last night in Auburn, Washington.” Pedicone has been replaced, at least temporarily, by Jarrod Alexander of Dead Country, who is probably already sick of everyone else’s devastated sighs.
Continued Iero, “The band has no intention of pressing charges or taking this matter any further than we have to. We just want him out of our lives. The people who play in this band are a family, and family should not take advantage of each other like he did.” Michael Pedicone’s...

Less than a year after My Chemical Romance replaced drummer Bob Bryar, the band booted Michael Pedicone from the group after it was alleged that he stole from the band.
Pedicone, who joined MCR late in 2010 as their third drummer, was kicked out on Friday after an alleged incident the night before in Auburn, Washington, according to a posting on the band's official website.
"The relationship between My Chemical Romance and Michael Pedicone is over," read a post from guitarist Frank Iero. "He was caught red handed stealing from the band and confessed to police after our show last night in Auburn, Washington. We are heartbroken and sick to our stomachs over this entire situation. In the four years between The Black Parade and Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys, My Chemical Romance were no strangers to the grandiose statement. It seems that, in every interview they gave, the band found a new way to describe their (then upcoming) album, calling it everything from a "very pure" bit of punk rock to — most famously — "a love letter to rock and roll".
The end result, of course, was Danger Days, an album that is both of those things (and neither), often at the same time. And yet, it has basically been defined within those parameters. So, looking back on it now, do MCR regret anything they said in the lead-up to the album?

Hollywood — My Chemical Romance went to the brink and back to make their new album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. So, as you can probably imagine, on Monday (November 22) — the day Killjoys hit stores — they were in the mood to celebrate.
And how did they go about doing that? By buying their album, of course.
"Me and Mikey [Way] went and bought it earlier today," guitarist Frank Iero laughed. "It's kind of a tradition."
And with their very own copies of the album in hand, MCR headed over to the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard, where they'll throw a rather raucous album-release party — they set up a carnival and everything — and play a sold-out show for their fanatical MCRmy.

My Chemical Romance will never have their music played in an elevator. The "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)" group are on a mission to "polarize" people with their music, and because their tracks inspire different reactions in people, they know they won't end up as background music.

As if My Chemical Romance's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys weren't already anticipated enough, the band recently upped the ante by unveiling a deluxe "California 2019" edition of the album, one that includes a glorious array of ephemera — a Killjoys ray-gun (with matching mask), a 48-page art book, some "Bad Luck" beads — and one mysterious Ep, credited to someone (or something) called "The Mad Gear and Missile Kid."
Eagle-eyed MCR fans probably caught a mention of "Mad Gear" in the "Na Na Na" video, but to date, there have been no clues about his (or her) real identity. So when MTV News sat down with My Chem last week, we asked them if they could reveal just who...

In their near-decade of existence, My Chemical Romance has had plenty of rather huge moments: touring with Green Day, premiering the first single from their Black Parade album some 70 stories above New York City and covering Bob Dylan for the "Watchmen" soundtrack, just to name a few.
But according to the band themselves, all of those achievements pale in comparison to their sprawling, spastic video for "Na Na Na". To hear them tell it, just making the clip was the biggest achievement of their entire career ... because it capped a long journey back from the brink.
"It was a really big moment for the band.

Early Thursday morning (October 14) — like, 12:01 a.m. early — My Chemical Romance's much-anticipated video for "Na Na Na" premiered on MTV.com. And we've basically spent every hour since re-watching it, combing through each frame and marveling at its breakneck pacing, sneering swagger and, well, hyperkinetic, hypercolor stylings.
Yes, "Na Na Na" is certainly a remarkable thing, an eye-catching, palpitation-inducing thrill ride (sort of like the album it's promoting) that's also incredibly clever, slightly goofy, and downright sly. See, much like other great videos of recent memory — like, say, Lady Gaga's "Telephone" — it's also chock-full of blink-and-you'll-miss-them nods to pop culture; too-clever odes to film, TV, toys and all...

My Chemical Romance have reportedly confirmed the name of their fourth album. According to MTV News, the group's record label has announced that their upcoming record will be called Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys. The spokesperson reportedly added that the New Jersey band have been working with their Black Parade producer Rob Cavallo on the LP. However, the representative declined to comment on when the record would be released or reveal any details about the first single. Earlier this month, guitarist Frank Iero posted a blog on the band's official website saying that the record was "done, finished, kaput, in the proverbial can, and being played (more)...

Sure, his good pal Jay-z may be a part-owner of the New Jersey Nets, and teams like the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers can also offer him pretty sweet deals. But if LeBron James signs with the New York Knicks, he'll get free My Chemical Romance tickets for life.
Yes, in a move sure to anger Cleveland Cavaliers fans — and lift the deflated hopes of Knicks supporters everywhere — MCR guitarist (and Knicks superfan) Frank Iero took to his Twitter account Sunday in an attempt to lure James, who can opt out of his deal with the Cavs this summer, to Madison Square Garden, where he will presumable resurrect the once-proud Knickerbocker franchise and bring them their first championship in nearly 40 years.

We're just hours away from revealing the winner of MTV's Musical March Madness tournament, and while we're busy counting all the votes (nearly 200,000), we figured it would be a good time to hear from the two bands battling it out for the championship: Coheed and Cambria and My Chemical Romance.
On Tuesday night, just as polls were closing, we reached out to both acts for comment on their rather remarkable tournament runs. Both bands' fan-fueled marches to the title game saw them knock off the likes of Pearl Jam, 30 Seconds to Mars, Paramore, Phish and Tokio Hotel, to name just a few. It's been a dream tourney for both, and while only one band will come out on top,...

Who: The last band standing in the certifiably wild West region in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament, My Chemical Romance have to be considered the favorites to win it all at this point, based on the bands they've bested and the help they're getting from their friends in 30 Seconds to Mars (more on that in a bit). Up until the departure of drummer Bob Bryar, My Chem were one of the few bands in the tournament who could field an actual basketball team (there were five of them) but even when playing a man down, they're a formidable squad, with the Way brothers running the show from the guard positions, Frank Iero scoring from the wing, and the indomitable inside presence of Ray Toro.

My Chemical Romance, whether you love them or hate them, are known by millions of people from all over the world. The name came from bassist Mikey Way when he was at his job in a bookstore. One day he came across a novel from Irvine Welsh and the line "Tales of a Chemical Romance" just jumped out at him. This was before the band had even gotten together, and as Gerard Way said. "It's kinda like we had to make a band just so we could use that name." Before the band started, frontman Gerard Way worked as a comic book artist. He had been writing a story for Cartoon Network called The Breakfast Monkey, but it was dropped for another show. It was around this time the bombings on the Twin Towers occurred. Gerard saw the whole thing out the window and it was at that moment he thought,...

People on both sides of My Chemical Romance's fan base have to admit it's been interesting to watch guitarist Frank Iero build up to his long-in-the-works hardcore side project Leathermouth. From news stories in which Iero promised the band would "bum out" MCR fans to press releases that name-checked iconic noisemakers Black Flag and Ink And Dagger, Leathermouth found Iero shirking his platinum present for a dive into his punk past—or at least talking a good game about it. With Xo, Iero proves he's no dilettante: With a yowl that brings to mind Converge's Jake ...
