It takes a village to mount a weekly production like Saturday Night Live, and cue cards are one of the most integral parts of it all.
Now the show is offering a rare glimpse at the cue card team at work during last weekend’s episode hosted by Dua Lipa in a new “Beyond Studio 8H” video posted to the show’s YouTube channel.
SNL famously relies on cue cards to guide its performers through a scene. Because script changes happen so often—right up until showtime—the performers can’t fully memorize anything in advance. These constant edits—and the show’s live nature—also mean an entire team is needed to update the cards by hand with every change.
Among the faces featured in the backstage video is one that viewers may recognize. Wally Feresten, the supervisor of the team, has worked on Saturday Night Live since 1990, and...

The Late Night With Seth Meyers staff made sure to celebrate the host’s 50th birthday with a surprise bash.
Though Meyers’ actual birthday is on Thursday, falling during show’s holiday hiatus, the crew decided to organize a celebration three weeks earlier. In a video shared by the official Late Night YouTube account Thursday, Meyers’ staff explained how they pulled off the feat without the host knowing.
Meyers “was told he would be attending dinner with his manager and agent after the taping of Corrections,” a note at the top of the video informs viewers. “This was a lie.” His staff instead transformed Studio 8G into a party spot, donning “50” glasses and bringing out pizza, other treats and balloons while Meyers took a break from filming the show’s online segment.
When he emerged from his dressing room, dressed like he was ready to leave, Meyers looked shocked as...

Actor Ryan Reynolds took to social media to address a plea to fans where he urged them to refrain from spoilers for the highly anticipated film, Deadpool 3, currently in production.
Reynolds’ appeal came in response to a significant spoiler leak, which stemmed from a set photo that made its way online.
Reynolds, known for his wit and humor, didn’t stop at a simple request.
Instead, he decided to combat the leaks when he shared a fake set of photos on social media platforms.
These photos featured Deadpool in unlikely scenarios, such as a hangout out with Mickey Mouse and a bag of money, alongside Predator, and even with the character Urkel.
Reynolds went as far as to include references to Seth Meyers‘ cue card handler Wally Feresten and the now-defunct streaming platform Quibi.
In a post to X, Reynolds humorously wrote, “Deadpool began with a leak. So I’m joining in.

1 | How is Once Upon a Time‘s Henry keeping his motorcycle fueled after years in the Enchanted Forest? (Seems like a throwaway line about Regina “enchanting” his gas tank would have sufficed.) And is Roni’s bar situated on a hill… or not?
2 | Has Inhumans elicited a bigger groan than when Medusa commanded an Atm to give money to “the queen of Attilan”?

Dave Franco sits on a metal chair in a stripped-down Beverly Hills hotel room looking as happy as he can be. All that stuff you read about the actor’s infectious smile being the most winning in the business? Not fake news.
You won’t actually get to see that gregarious grin in Franco’s latest movie, however. In The Lego Ninjago Movie he merely provides the voice of animated brick boy Lloyd, a troubled teen who leads a squad of ninjas against the evil Garmadon who wants to destroy their ancient/modern/futuristic island city.
But even though you won’t get a gander at the 32-year-old star of Neighbors, 21 Jump Street and Now You See Me in the animated feature,...

It's hard to believe it's been more than 20 years since we first met the Griswolds in National Lampoon's "Vacation." The 1983 original followed Chevy Chase as Clark Griswold, an overly enthusiastic dad who just wants to have a fun family trip to Wally World, a California amusement park. Unfortunately, it all goes to hell as they encounter a series of misadventures along the journey. The film sparked a number of sequels, including "European Vacation," "Christmas Vacation" and "Vegas Vacation." Fast forward to 2015, as the latest installment in the hilarious franchise, "Vacation," his theaters today. The new film focuses on a fully-grown (and once again recast) Rusty Griswold, as he takes his own family on a disastrous getaway. Ed Helms is taking over the lead role, Christina Applegate plays his wife and Leslie Mann fills the role of sister Audrey. Before we welcome the Griswolds back to the big screen, we're taking...
