Anatoliy Nimenskiy(1950-2020)

Anatoliy Nimenskiy is a Soviet and Russian music composer.
Started playing music at the age of 5. Since 1958, he studied piano with Vadim Bibergan, since 1965 - at the ten-year music school at the Ural State Conservatory named after Modest Mussorgsky at the theoretical department. From 1968 to 1973 he studied composition at the Ural Conservatory, first with Nikolay Puzey, then with Vadim Bibergan.
Since 1972, Nimenskiy began teaching at the Department of Composition of the UGK, having brought up dozens of professional composers over the years. From 1977 to 1989, he served as secretary of the Department. In 1980 he was admitted to the Union of Composers of the USSR. In 1982-1989, Nimenskiy was a member of the Board of the Ural Composers' Organization, led the creative association of young composers and musicologists of the Ural region. In 1989 he was elected to the post of head of the department. In 1995 he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor. In 1995-2001 Anatoliy Nimenskiy was twice elected to the post of chairman of the Ural branch of the Union of Composers of the Russian Federation.
