- Writer
Alejandro Amoros was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 1st,
1980. One year later his family relocated to the United States and
moved many time, having lived in Texas, Maryland, Washington D.C. and
Florida among other places. Early on Alejandro demonstrated an interest
in the arts. At age 11 he returned to Puerto Rico where he finished
high school and went on to study literature at the University of Puerto
Rico (Rio Piedras campus). After two years of college he began to write
screenplays and was invited by an actor friend to participate in a
casting, from then on he was dedicated to acting and screenwriting. An
independent filmmaker hired Alejandro as a screenwriter in 2001.
Ironically, after the filmmaker abandoned the project, Alejandro co
produced the film and acted in a supporting role in the film, then
entitled "Amnesia". Alejandro received favorable reviews for his
performance as a drugged out psychopathic killer, leading to supporting
roles in many other films, mostly based out of Puerto Rico. After
playing a minor role in "Entremedio" for director Andres Ramirez,
Alejandro was discovered by producer Jesse Rodriguez who landed him a
role in a pilot for the HBO network titled "The V Brothers", where he
played an Irish assassin. This show costarred Jorge Alberti, Christie
Miro and Rodolfo Rodriguez. In "La Venganza" Alejandro played a
transsexual, drug addicted prostitute in the action/comedy spoof. He
played a leading role in "Orfanato de Cafres" (opposite Belange
Rodriguez and Anamin Santiago) as Luis Olmo, an unemployed and out of
luck womanizer who plans a murder. "Orfanato de Cafres" went on to win
the Best Picture prize at the 2009 San Juan Cinemafest. "Elite" was
Alejandro's last film in Puerto Rico before relocating to Hollywood.
"Elite" stars Miss Universe Denisse Quinones; in the film Alejandro
plays a corrupt police officer. Alejandro is now based out of Los
Angeles, California.
