General Hospital quietly introduced Felix Dubois, an out nursing student played by Marc Anthony Samuel this week. He's a contract player, so he will be back, but his initial reviews are mixed. His first showing had him going in for a makeover of another character, which has some screaming "stereotype" and others saying that there are enough gay characters on television now to embrace all types. Personally, I think we should get to know him before we make any decisions.
Time has run a feature story on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, with some amazing words from his gay brother, Michael. It seems in high school, Roger dedicated a lot of his time to defending his brother from bullies, including beating up kids who picked on him. And that carried over into college as well, when he visited a bar where Michael worked. “'There were these two twins, they were body-builder twins,...

Washington -- Women including sports icon Billie Jean King and actress Jane Lynch are starting a super Pac on Wednesday that they hope will ncrease the political power of the lesbian community.
The organization, called Lpac, will provide financial backing to pro-lesbian candidates, whether Democrats or Republicans, male or female, gay or straight. The group intends to back federal and state candidates, as well as some ballot measures. All targets of the group's support must back an end to discrimination for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals; reproductive rights and access to quality health care; and social, racial and economic justice.
Group members said they have pledges of $200,000 and hope to raise at least $1 million for the 2012 elections. High-profile supporters include King, Lynch, Chicago Cubs co-owner Laura Ricketts and Lgbt leader Urvashi Vaid.
"Members of the Lgbt community are inspirational leaders and role models in every aspect of American life -- from education to entertainment,...

50 Cent is coming out with a new book, Playground about a 13-year-old bully “who finds redemption as he faces what he's done." Of course, 50 Cent is somewhat famous for being a bully himself, so I don’t know if this smacks of hypocrisy, redemption, or hubris.
The big news of the day was the continued fallout from At&T attempting to influence Glbt orgs to lobby for their business interests with large cash donations. After Bilerico broke the original story on GLAAD, they’ve followed up with news that at least three other organizations, Ngltf, National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, and Equality California have all admitted to lobbying for the telecom giant. Chris Geidner adds that the Hrc declined to submit a letter in support of the merger.

I really can’t find any flaws with Daniel Radcliffe. He’s cute, he’s talented, he’s polite, he’s insanely rich. And he helps out The Trevor Project. So the Trevor Project is going to award him their Hero Award next month. I guess he can put it beside the one he got for defeating Voldemort.
On Friday came the not-so surprising announcement that the Chicago Cubs would become the second Mlb team to make an It Gets Better video. It wasn’t so surprising because Laura Ricketts, a lesbian, owns the team with her family and sits on the board. But what was so surprising was that 24 hours later, in response to a petition by a 12-year-old, the Boston Red Sox would announce their intent to make a video themselves.
Meanwhile, coming out in the locker room remains a difficult trick to master, even at an elite school like Stanford.

This is the Kathy Griffin hosting gig I want to see on ABC.
Following this assortment of carefully-selected news items, interested readers can find a refreshing pic of a hot man in underwear after the jump. Yes, we're serious.
Kathy Griffin will be hosting ABC's new series Let's Dance starting November 23. The premise seems to be celebrities duplicating famous dance routines from movies and TV shows past competing for a $250,000 cash prize to a charity of their choice. Proving California's some people-are-married, some-people-can't laws created last year by Prop 8 are messier than they appear, an employee is suing SkyWest Airlines because they won't provide is husband with the same free airfares they provide opposite-sex spouses. Basic Rights Oregon began the drive to repeal Measure 36, which is a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in the state. Continuing our hard news theme this election day, during the hearings in Washington, D.C.
