Samuel Miralles was born in Valence (South of France)
In 1991, after a childhood spent drawing, Samuel read a making of documentary about Walt Disney's feature film "Cinderella": it's a revelation ! As an autodidact, he spent all his adolescence finding out and learning how to make 2D hand-drawn animated films.
In 1997, he made his first animated short, thanks to a Super 8mm camera, using painted cells and hand-painted backgrounds. In 1998, this short film opened him the doors of Folimage (producer of the 2012 Academy Award nominee A Cat in Paris) which offered him a stage of improvement about animation techniques.
After 2 years consolidating his academic drawing and painting skills in an art school in Lyon (France), Samuel made Flammes, his first professional short film, produced by a.a.a. (producer of the Shadoks and Michel Ocelot's first films, to name a few)
Then he continues his journey working for commissioned films before making his own self-produced animated film, whose work-in-progress drawings and videos are available on his website!
