The Weinstein Company has acquired Us television rights to UK-based Sid Gentle Films’ upcoming alternate history thriller to star Sam Riley and Kate Bosworth.
SS-gb is based on Len Deighton’s 1978 novel of the same name and will air on BBC One in the UK.
James Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade adapted the speculative story, which takes place in a London in the 1940s occupied by the Nazis as a detective stumbles upon a web of intrigue.
Jason Flemyng, James Cosmo, Aneurin Barnard and Maeve Dermody also star alongside German actors Rainer Bock and Lars Eidinger.
Germany’s Philipp Kadelbach directs and executive producers are Sid Gentle Films’ Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris.
The miniseries marks the second partnership between the Weinsteins, BBC, Lookout Point, and Bbcww this year following War & Peace.
David Glasser, Negeen Yazdi, James Gold, Michal Podell Steinberg, and Talia Houminer negotiated the deal for TWC with Bbcww and Lookout Point.

TORONTO -- The Weinstein Co. has promoted Michal Podell to senior vp acquisitions and business and legal affairs just in time for the Toronto International Film Festival.
The former vp international business and legal affairs adds acquisitions and a title bump to her position as she joins executive vps acquisitions Michelle Krumm and Maeva Gatineau on the hunt for Toronto titles. She will report to them and executive vp business and legal affairs Eric Roth in the company's New York office.
In addition to her acquisitions duties, Podell will continue negotiating deals on remakes, co-productions and co-financing of features.
"Michal has been an integral member of the Weinstein Co.'s international team since the start of the company. She has superb taste in films and knowledge of the acquisitions business around the world," Krumm said. Her team has been circling everything from obscure Chinese documentaries to the Toronto titles Battle in Seattle and George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead, along with other buyers.
