Secat Kirmaci was born in, 1940 in Samsun, Turkey. He graduated in 1968 from Department of Decorative Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul. He continued his career with interior architecture and decoration studies. At the same time, he started to design decors and costume designs for various theaters. In 1963, he was asked to be art director assistant by director Atif Yilmaz. Till 1980s, Secat Kirmaci was art director in many movies such as Yedi Kocali Hürmüz (1971), Umutsuzlar (1971) and Dönüs (1972). After 1980, he continued his career with historical series and movies for television. During this period he became the art director of television series such as Kurulus (1988), Fatih Harbiye (1990) and Kanayan Yara Bosna (1994). In 2008, Secat Kirmaci started to give Art Management and Communication Design lectures in the Faculty of Art Design at university. He is married with 2 children.
