Magnolia Pictures has acquired U.S. theatrical distribution rights to the documentary “No Place on Earth,” which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival Monday. The company plans a 2013 theatrical release. Directed by former “60 Minutes” and “Nightline” producer Janet Tobias, “No Place on Earth” tells the incredible story of 38 Ukrainian Jews who survived World War II by living in underground caves for 18 months. The film includes interviews with survivors and Chris Nicola, the caving enthusiast who discovered the story.
