Two weeks ahead of its Season 2 premiere, Pop has picked up a third season of the Canadian scripted comedy Schitt’s Creek. The renewal comes on the heels of its Season 3 pickup in Canada. Co-created and written by father-son team Eugene and Daniel Levy, who also star in the series, Schitt’s Creek is a character-driven, fish-out-of-water comedy that follows the once-wealthy Rose family – played by Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy – who suddenly…...

CBC has renewed half-hour comedy Schitt’s Creek for a third season for premiere in winter 2017. It’s too early for Pop, which airs the series in the U.S., to make a renewal decision as Season 2 has yet to premiere (it debuts next month), but Pop brass have said they love the show. Schitt’s Creek centers around a wealthy family that suddenly finds itself broke and forced to live in Schitt’s Creek, a small, depressing town they once bought as a joke. Eugene and Daniel Levy…...

Sunderland will face stiff competition from West Ham and Everton in the race to sign Mousa Dembele before the transfer window shuts, according to footgoal.net.
The 28-year-old creative midfielder is out-of-favour at Tottenham and the Black Cats were strongly linked with a move for the Belgian, despite his current side’s determination to hold onto him as a squad player.
However, if Spurs land a new midfielder, that could spark a bidding war for the ex-Fulham man who could be drawn to West Ham if they launched a bid as he could remain in the capital.
This doesn’t necessarily mean Sunderland would be out of the running for Dembele though, as Dick Advocaat worked with him at Az Alkmaar and in the Belgian national team setup. The boss’ links to Jeremain Lens helped snare the Dutch international, so if the Black Cats are to make a bid,...

Sunderland have their sights firmly set upon attacking talent with a trio of wingers led by Jeremain Lens being linked with moves to Wearside.
The Dutch international can play as a forward, though he is used to playing on the left side of a front three, ideal for Sunderland’s needs, and he is understood to be the closest target for Black Cats, though a fee is yet to be agreed upon.
Stade Rennais man Paul-Georges Ntep and England international Andros Townsend have also both been linked to the Black Cats, though they could be backup options if they fail to land Lens.
The 22-year-old Ntep is a highly-rated talent in France, and broke into the national team set up this year following a series of impressive performances. He fits the mould of what Advocaat is looking for as a left winger with pace and power.

While there are a number of excellent television episodes that aired during the first half of the year, not all of them made our list, due to a number of reasons, chief among them the simple fact that there are too many episodes potentially worthy of inclusion for the entire panel to watch them all. This is where our individual picks come in. Each panelist was given one slot to fill with any episode that hadn’t made the list, but which they felt belonged there. Here are our individual picks, to complement our list of the Best Episodes of 2015 (so far):

Pop is heading up “Schitt’s Creek” again. The comedy series starring Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Chris Elliott, Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy, has been picked up for a second season, Pop announced Tuesday. The series centers on formerly filthy rich video store magnate Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy), his soap star wife Moira (O’Hara), and their two kids — hipster son David (Daniel Levy) and socialite daughter Alexis (Murphy) — who suddenly find themselves broke. They are forced to live in Schitt’s Creek, a small, depressing town they once bought as a joke. See Photos: The Faces of Pilot Season 2015 (Photos) “Wow.

Pop punctuates its month-old transition from Tvgn with its first scripted series “Schitt’s Creek,” which debuts on Wednesday. Co-created by veteran character actor Eugene Levy and his son, Daniel Levy, a former MTV Canada host, the series premiered earlier this year on Canada’s CBC. Levy says that having two network bosses didn’t hamper the creative process at all. “We set out to make a show and our goal was to make the show that we wanted to make, and fortunately between Pop and CBC we were given the freedom to do that,” Daniel told TheWrap. “So I...

Despite the fact that the deal for Emmanuel Adebayor to West Ham supposedly collapsed earlier in the eveningt thanks to Daniel Levy’s reluctance to pay his wages at a rival club (a positive endorsement of West Ham’s profile this season), it now looks like the deal could be back on.
With Carlton Cole moving on, Sam Allardyce was in the market to sign another striker, even with Mauro Zarate returning from a short-term loan deal at Qpr, and it seems that he didn’t want to look beyond Adebayor.
The striker hasn’t exactly been at the top of his game recently with his first team opportunities at Spurs limited, but he could be exactly the kind of experienced impact player who could supplement what the Hammers already have well. Whether he will be happy to be considered in that manner remains to be seen,...

Mauro Zarate’s short-lived loan move to Qpr now looks to be over. With the club expecting to get rid of Carlton Cole to West Brom and a potential deal to bring Emmanuel Adebayor scuppered over the fact that Daniel Levy refused to pay his wages at a rival, the club are short on options, so it is perhaps more that issue than a problem with his reception at Qpr that has seen the cancellation of th eloan.
Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp has done a little bit of business on deadline day by swapping Zarate for Matt Jarvis, who joins Qpr on loan until the end of the season. He’s great at putting the ball into the box, and he could well be a key to getting even more out of Charlie Austin.

Daniel Levy has made a right mess of his club. While the irony of Brendan Rodger’s words surely aren’t lost on him now, he was correct in his declaration last year that when a team spends over £100 million on players, ‘they should be challenging for the title’.
The £85 million received for the talismanic Gareth Bale has been squandered on a plethora of overpriced rubbish who haven’t tried a leg for Spurs since moving to the club in the last 18 months. Spurs may be onto their third manager since Bale’s departure in September 2013, but Mauricio Pochettino is simply inheriting the same problems that befell his predecessors.
What Spurs supporters wouldn’t do to have a firesale at the club, and bring back some heroes from the past? They may have been gone a while now, but these players would certainly dig...

Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in something of a rut at the moment. Results aren’t going their way, performances are pretty damn terrible, the fans are dejected and a lot of the players look like they simply don’t care about the plight of the club.
The Lilywhites are currently languishing in the unimaginably low position of twelfth in the Premier League table, having played eleven league games and won just four of them. Indeed, they are considerably closer to the foot of the table than they are to the top, sitting only seven points ahead of bottom club Burnley and a massive fifteen points behind leaders Chelsea.
It’s really not the start new boss Mauricio Pochettino would have wanted – that goes without saying – but the club appears to be breaking precedent and allowing him to implement his long-term plan with a view to long-term improvement.

Spurs are in a mess. If one needs an example of how not to run a football club following the departure of their only world-class starlet, all they need to do is take a leaf out of Daniel Levy’s book. Not only does he have a notorious reputation as a ruthless hirer-and-firer, refusing to allow managers the required time to implement their strategies and tactics to good effect, but the Spurs chairman introduced technical director Franco Baldini to White Hart Lane last summer. That was where their problems began.
Andre Villas-Boas’ time in England did not go so well, but that was arguably due to the fact that he worked with two interfering and ruthless owners, with Levy seemingly instructing Baldini to acquire players without the Portuguese boss’ say-so. Instead of the former Chelsea manager being granted the targets on his wish-list, which included Joao Moutinho,...

Christopher Guest film reportory members Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara will star in the first scripted series from Pop (currently Tvgn and fka TV Guide Network), and it’s got a titter-worthy title.
Premiering with the Pop rebranding in 2015, the half-hour comedy Schitt’s Creek follows filthy rich Johnny Rose (played by Levy), his soap opera diva wife Moira (O’Hara) and their two kids (played by Annie Murphy and Levy’s real-life son Daniel) as they suddenly find themselves broke and forced to relocate to the sad, titular town, which Johnny years ago bought for his son as a gag.

Daniel Levy is as loose with his forefinger when it comes to pulling the trigger on managers, as he is when it comes to sanctioning overhauls of the squad at his new employee’s behest. While Spurs have built have a reputation in recent years as a selling club, that tagline might be slightly wide of the mark. What other club could realistically hold onto the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale without the lure of Champions League football? And even one or two of the top-quality players that were prized from their grip ended up returning within a year anyway, tail firmly between their legs.
One thing is for sure, however, and that is that while Levy is overseeing things at White Hart Lane, Spurs will always serve as busy bees in the transfer windows. From striving to replace £85 million Bernabeu-bound talismans...

Spurs have a habit of letting their supporters down when it comes to transfer dealings. With Daniel Levy dipping his nose into the market on multiple occasions each summer, there have inevitably been a host of big-money signings that simply haven’t worked out, as well as some signatures that have failed to capture the imagination of the White Hart Lane faithful. There almost seems to be an air of Levy splashing a bucket of paint at a canvas and hoping some of it sticks, when it comes to his transfer dealings over the last few years. Badly burnt with big-money flops such as Darren Bent and Heurelho Gomes, the Spurs chief has often tried to steer clear and think outside the box, often opting for the less extravagant and less fashionable name. As a result, these incoming ‘nobodies’ have been met by...

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club go through managers like nobody’s business. In the Premier League era alone – and including caretaker spells – there have been twenty different managerial reigns at White Hart Lane, which averages out at almost one per year. Impatient chairmen like Alan Sugar and Daniel Levy are to blame, as they have failed to give a number of individuals sufficient time to turn the club’s fortunes around.
In the last two years alone, Spurs have had four men in charge, with Harry Redknapp’s four year tenure coming to an end in 2012, him being replaced by Andre Villas-boas, Tim Sherwood taking over from him last December and losing his job in May, and current boss Mauricio Pochettino taking on the role after that.

The former Nottingham Forest centre back has been at White Hart Lane since 2005 and has established himself as the club captain, forming an excellent relationship with the Lilywhites’ fans in the process.
The fee hasn’t been made public yet, but Dawson has spoken out about the move and it seems he is leaving with something of a heavy heart:

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s first season under new boss Mauricio Pochettino has started as well as can be expected. An opening day away victory at West Ham United was followed by success in Cyprus against Ael Limassol in the UEFA Europa League and a dominant home win against Queens Park Rangers to give the club a 100% win record to date.
But, in order to maintain that kind of form and achieve the goals that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy demands – which is Champions League football – the club will need to do a number of things to improve on last season’s trophyless campaign and sixth place Premier League finish.

If there’s something to be said for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, it is that the man has ambition. He may be a ruthless megalomaniac, who cuts the managerial cord as easily as he drives a hard bargain. But time and time again, he has attempted to lure some of the world’s finest talent to White Hart Lane, despite their lack of recent success. They have seen some exquisite talent prized from their clutches, including Dimitar Berbatov, Luka Modric and most recently, Gareth Bale, but what Levy strives to achieve is shaking his opposite number down for every last penny, before investing in a similar calibre of player.
Audacious moves have been made for players of a mouth-watering ilk, with experience seeping out of their ears. It doesn’t matter whether they have won a World Cup, a Champions League, or even...

Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs career officially got off to a flying start on Saturday, as an injury time goal from his own signing – and a man he surprisingly trusted with a Premier League debut – Eric Dier, gave the Lilywhites a 1-0 victory against West Ham United at the Boleyn Ground.
The Argentine coach’s delight and relief was clear for all to see, as he openly celebrated both the scoring of the goal itself and the blowing of the final whistle.
Pochettino will be all too aware of the demands Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has of his teams and their managers – anything less than Champions League qualification will likely result in his dismissal, such is the nature of the job these days – as Spurs went through two managers last season alone, with both Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood departing with the space of a few months.

The London Evening Standard are reporting that Spurs could be priced out of a move for their number one defensive target, Mateo Musacchio, as River Plate – who own 35% of the player’s rights – are insisting on getting more out of the deal for the Villarreal centre back.
Up until a couple of days ago, as was understood by both the Daily Mirror and Sky Sports News, Spurs and Villarreal had agreed a £17 million fee for the two-time Argentina capped defender, but his former employers back in his home country have thrown a spanner in the works by insisting he goes for no less than £39 million in order to make the move worthwhile to them.
Villarreal were believed to be resigned to losing Musacchio when the La Liga’s club coach, Marcelino, admitted at the weekend that he expected the 23-year-old to depart for London...

Reports are emerging from Spanish source Super Deporte that the reported Spurs target Mateo Musacchio has been pulled from training with his current club Villarreal ahead of his potential move to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. He is said to be limiting his activity to gym sessions away from his team-mates in order to avoid risking injury, which would obviously cause a move to fall through.
The 23 year old Argentine central defender has been earmarked by his fellow countryman and Spurs’ new boss Mauricio Pochettino as being the man to partner Belgium international Jan Vertongen in central defence, as the former Southampton manager looks to overhaul the Lilywhites’ back line.

News has broken today that Aston Villa’s defender Ron Vlaar has been placed as Mauricio Pochetinno’s number one defensive target after missing out on Dejan Lovren.
Spurs are already building from the back with recent arrivals of Michel Vorm and Ben Davies from Swansea City and Ron Vlaar could be next on the target list.
Vlaar, who won over many fans after his strong displays for Holland in the World Cup, is hot property and Villa manager Paul Lambert has already said he is not for sale but that won’t deter Daniel Levy in his quest to get Spurs back into the Champions League.
One way around Lambert’s reluctance to sell Vlaar to a Premier league rival will be Spurs plans to use either Michael Dawson and Lewis Holtby in a swap deal to benefit the Villains.
The deal is likely to start...

Although Tottenham Hotspur have been very quiet this transfer window with no arrivals being announced as of yet, things may be about to change for Mauricio Pochettino and his new squad.
Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann has been linked in the past and he could be moving to London after Spurs have reportedly made a £20 million approach for him today.
The French World Cup star has a £24 million buy out clause but Daniel Levy is hoping this offer could persuade Real Sociedad to do an early deal before any other interested clubs become alerted to his availability.
The one thing that may damage Spurs hopes of securing the midfielder is their lack of Champions League football. However, with his fellow national team mate Hugo Lloris signing a new five-year contract this could help Griezmann settle at White Hart Lane a lot quicker.

The London Evening Standard is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club may have to play their home games at Ipswich Town’s Portman Road or Brighton and Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium in the 2016/17 campaign.
Spurs and their chairman Daniel Levy have apparently resigned themselves to the fact that they will be unable to play at White Hart Lane during the final season before their long-planned move to a new ground occurs.
The new stadium is a £400 million project that will see Spurs’ home capacity increase by 20,000, from the current modest 36,000 to 56,000 – a capacity far more fitting of their stature and more in line with the capacities of their direct rivals in the top half of the Premier League.
The club hope to be playing in their new ground in time for the start of the 2017/18 campaign and their preferred choice had been...

The announcement of Mauricio Pochettino becoming the new head coach of Spurs on May 27th was met with a mixed response, somewhat inevitably for a club that has a track record of recent failure in hiring bosses. After all, the admittedly talented coach has only had fourteen months of managerial experience in England and was at a team lower in the league than the club themselves, so the indicators for success weren’t exactly as obvious as the likes of Frank De Boer or Louis Van Gaal.
After an underwhelming season which involved £100 million+ on new players who struggled to gel, a minimal net spend and the trials and tribulations of having Andre Villas Boas and Tim Sherwood as head coaches, the pressure will be on for the Argentinian to do well at Tottenham. And he will have to be so quickly.

So, it’s official. Mauricio Pochettino has been appointed the new Tottenham manager after being handed a five-year deal by chairman Daniel Levy. Perhaps more poignantly though, the Argentine becomes Tottenham’s 10th manager since 2001.
That stat speaks volumes about the nature of Spurs since the turn of the century. Too often managers have been sacked before they have even been given a chance to get their feet under the table. Tim Sherwood, Pochettino’s predecessor, lost his job at White Hart Lane despite boasting the best win percentage of any Tottenham manager in Premier League history.
The five-year contract given to Spurs’ new boss demonstrates that a change of plan may about to be initiated by the club. Such a long deal should provide the former Southampton boss with the time needed to implement his style of play. However, as we saw...

Arguably the hottest topic of football discussion in the English domestic game at the moment – particularly since the vacant Manchester United management position was filled by Louis van Gaal – is the ongoing saga at White Hart Lane regarding who will become the new Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Tim Sherwood was relieved of his duty as Spurs boss on the 13th of May this year, after taking over from Andre Villas-Boas in December, and he guided the club to a disappointing sixth place finish in the Premier League despite having the best wins-to-games ratio of any Spurs boss in the modern era. Since his sacking, a list of potential candidates that includes the likes of Frank de Boer, Mauricio Pochettino, Carlo Ancelotti, Rafa Benitez and Roberto Martinez have been linked with the role.
The new manager will be Spurs’ eighth (including Clive Allen’s brief stint as caretaker...

Mexican striker Javier Hernandez has been told by Mexico boss Miguel Herrera that he should leave Manchester United after the World Cup if he wants to keep being selected for his national side.
The diminutive striker has been limited mostly to substitute appearances at Old Trafford since his 2010 arrival, but this has not prevented “Chicharito” from starring for his country in that period and he has an extremely impressive international record of 35 goals in 58 games – but that could seemingly change unless he plays more first team minutes at club level.
Tottenham Hotspur have long been linked with signing the striker and would no doubt be interested, should Manchester United make him available. Spurs would, however, reportedly face competition from the likes of Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Italian giants Inter Milan.
Emmanuel Adebayor was Spurs’ only real goal threat up top last season, with Roberto...

Tottenham Hotspur legend Glenn Hoddle has given Southampton’s Argentinian boss Mauricio Pochettino his backing to potentially replace Tim Sherwood as manager at White Hart Lane.
The former England and Spurs boss made 377 league appearances for the Lilywhites and enjoys legendary status at White Hart Lane, but he has recently been critical of affairs at the club, including Sherwood’s public shaming of Spurs’ players after their emphatic Premier League loss against Chelsea and the impact of the influx of players who were brought in to the club last summer following the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.
Hoddle himself has said that he came close to retaking the reins at White Hart Lane following Andre Villas-Boas’ dismissal in December of last year, but he has now taken to giving his support to Pochettino in spite of other potential candidates that are said to include Frank de Boer and Rafa Benitez.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club today made the unsurprising announcement that boss Tim Sherwood had parted company with the club. The move had long been expected – not least by Sherwood himself, who has been very vocal about his fragile position – and sees Spurs looking for a new manager, starting immediately.
Sherwood only took over at Spurs in December, when former boss Andre Villas-Boas was dismissed for an underwhelming first half of the season. Sherwood went on to attain the highest win percentage of any Spurs manager in the Premier League era, but it was only enough to finish sixth in the final table and he was also knocked out of every cup competition Spurs were involved in. He was given an eighteen month contract, but very few people truly believed he would last that long.

Manchester City are reportedly plotting a sensational summer swap deal with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur that would see Lilywhites’ goalkeeper Hugo Lloris brought to the club with Joe Hart going in the opposite direction.
Spurs’ French international stopper has indicated a desire to be playing top level European football next season and, with Spurs unlikely to achieve anything better than a place in the Europa League, he could well be on his way out come the next transfer window.
The likes of Ben Foster of West Bromwich Albion have been linked with the White Hart Lane club as Lloris’ potential replacement, but this kind of news has underwhelmed Spurs fans. However, despite his sometimes wayward form at the Etihad in recent seasons, the signing of England number one Hart would go a long way to appeasing the loss of the current White Hart Lane favourite.

Christian Eriksen recently cast doubt over his future at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club by hinting that he may have bigger ambitions than those currently being shown by the White Hart Lane outfit.
The Danish international attacking midfield, 22, has scored 10 goals in his debut season including the equaliser in Spurs’ 3-3 draw against West Brom at the weekend and has been one of the few plus points in an otherwise incredibly disappointing season for the Lilywhites.
While the former Ajax man has suggested he is happy at Spurs, it sounds as though his head could easily be turned, as he had this to say about life at the club:
“I’m incredibly happy that they seem happy with me. I am very glad that they like what they see. Of course I have a dream and a secret plan in my head. But I keep it to myself.

Kelly Clarkson has offered her advice to this year's X Factor USA contestants following her performance on the show. The singer gave her first TV performance of 'What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)' on Wednesday night's Top 9 results show, which saw two acts sent home in a double elimination. Speaking to X Factor's digital correspondent Dan Levy in a video on the official website, the former American Idol winner suggested that the contestants should "find what is unique" about them to ensure they stand out. Clarkson said: "You have to bring something different to the table. I think everybody sometimes just wants to be famous or do what another artist is doing and it's like, 'We already have that artist. Why are you doing that?' Find what is unique about you." She went on to say that artists (more)...
