Brandon Thomas, Producer/Director/Writer, was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and San Clemente, California. His love for storytelling led him to study film at San Francisco State University, where he obtained a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Cinema. Brandon now resides in Los Angeles where he has worked professionally as a director for the past 10 years- producing shorts, commercials, music videos, and industrials videos for corporations and non-profit organizations such as the American Cancer Society.
In 2002, his feature screenplay The Music Maker" won a scholarship to the Squaw Valley Writer's program, where he was mentored by Academy Award nominated screenwriter Tom Rickman. He later produced and edited Luci Kwak's award winning short film "Beyond the Silence" and then went on to direct his most personal film to date "Unconditional"- a 15-min, 35mm dramatic narrative short, starring Hudson Leick of "Zena: Warrior Princess", Daniel Goldman of "Dexter", and Walker Stafford of "City Slickers".
In 2009, Brandon collaborated with singer/songwriter Brooke Wilkes, where he co-wrote, produced, directed, and edited the award-winning music video, "The Mermaid Diaries", which picked up Music Video of the Year and the Audience Choice award for best music video at the Puerto Rico International Film Festival. As a follow-up, he directed singer/songwriter Joseph Eid's music video "Believe In This" from his critically acclaimed debut EP "Cardiac Output", which also includes scenes from Brandon's up-coming film "Last Stop".
With "Last Stop", Brandon experiments with a more Cinéma vérité approach to filmmaking, using hand-held camera techniques and improvised performances to construct a narrative that is thought provoking and indelible. Starring Joseph Eid and Joni Kempner, this film was shot entirely on location inside the Los Angeles metro system, using a single Sony PD-150 camera. Brandon's most recent film is "Humanity", a 7 min., psychological thriller, starring Arianny Celeste and Case Fitzsimmons. Both "Last Stop" and "Humanity" are bound for the film festival circuit in 2011.
In 2012, he directed a Camaro spec commercial called "Roshambo" and in 2014, a Doritos' Super Bowl contest-entry spec commercial. Lastly, he wrote a Berqa Tea 2015 campaign for Zenith Optimedia The ROI agency.
After a long hiatus, Brandon wrote, produced, and directed a 21-min dramatic short film entitled "Hummingbird", starring Johnathan Tchaikovsky, Melinda Tanner, and Happy Anderson. The film is currently in post-production with plans to hit the 2024 film festival circuit.
Brandon also works as a Mastering Manager of feature films for Amazon-MGM Studios, where he masters new films, acquisitions, and remasters older MGM/UA/Orion films for distribution both domestically and internationally.
