While most cycles of America’s Next Top Model have its standout moments -- including Tyra Banks yelling at Tiffany (4), everything Jade said (6) and the pendulum runway (14) -- they all have the always epic, always dramatic and always hilarious makeover meltdowns.
Like clockwork, two or three episodes into the cycle, Tyra gathers the aspiring models around to tell them about their Tyovers. And what starts with cheers and excitement, usually ends in bitter tears and resentment. (In the contestants’ defense, who thought beard weave was a good idea?) And cycle 23 is no different when host Rita Ora surprises the girls with their new signature looks.

But, of course, not everyone is satisfied with their transformation. Et has an exclusive first look at Cherish, who is not ready to let go of her “virgin hair.” But as one of the stylists puts it: “You won’t be a...

Question: Is it true that the character of Anna Wu on Chuck is bisexual? ... I'm a sucker for bi women in sci-fi shows, so I'm wondering if this one should be on my radar.
— Sarah
Answer: Yes, Buy More employee Anna — played by Julia Ling — is bisexual, although it's understandable if you missed it: Anna's bisexuality has only been referenced once so far, in the first season when Anna quipped "speak for yourself!" to a comment from Morgan about none of them having sex with a beautiful woman. It's also referenced again in next week's episode.

It feels like just yesterday we were complaining about Elina's elimination. But yes, it's yet again time for a new batch of model hopefuls, competing for Tyra's affection. The CW has released the names and first photographs of the contestants for Cycle 12 of America's Next Top Model.
While none are confirmed gay as of now, we can still speculate. There's also a few that, judged on these pictures alone, look as if they're not up to par (*cough* Kortnie *cough*), but I'm willing to give them a chance along with the rest of the nation.
Allison, 20 — an artist from New Orleans, Louisiana
Aminat, 21 — a student from Union, New Jersey
Celia, 25 — a fashion sales designer from Cynthiana, Kentucky
Fo, 19 — a student from Albuquerque, New Mexico
Isabella, 19 — an aspiring model from Barboursville, Virginia
Jessica, 18 — a student from Bradenton, Florida
Kortnie, 24 — a non-profit organizer from Houston, Texas
London, 18 — a student from Arlington,...

In our annual Visibility Awards, we formally recognize the people who have positively or negatively impacted lesbian and bi visibility in American entertainment during the year. (See previous years here: 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004).
From Best Movie to Worst Song to Lesbian/Bi Woman of the Year, these awards recognize the television shows, movies, music, books and people who entertained, inspired, or disappointed us in 2008.
In previous years, the winners have been editorially chosen by the AfterEllen.com staff (note: winners do not necessarily represent any individual staff member's preference). This year, we opened up some of the categories for nominations, posted the finalists, and thousands of you voted. We've designated those categories with this symbol:
We've also included more international people, shows and movies this year, a reflection of the increasing awareness of lesbian and bisexual visibility around the world made possible by the internet.
Now on to the best and worst of...

Since the debut of America's Next Top Model in 2003, women of all sexualities have been included as part of the televised reality contest. Cycle 1's Ebony Haith had the pleasure of being the first out contestant, who dealt with some homophobia from her housemates when she wanted her girlfriend to visit. She was followed by Cycle 4's Michelle Deighton, who came out as a bisexual, open lesbian Kim Stolz on Cycle 5, and Cycle 7's Michelle Babin, who struggled with her sexuality while on the show.
By the time 18-year-old Elina Ivanova was cast as a competitor on the current cycle of Top Model, she had the pleasure of being known for her modeling ability instead of being known as "the lesbian." In fact, it seemed very much a non-issue in the editing of the cycle, which touched less on Elina's sexuality than on her crush on her fellow contestant,...

The description for this episode on my cable guide read simply, "One model screams at the judges"--six words that made me embarrassingly excited. A go-see episode and a breakdown at panel episode, complete with Elina screaming (obviously it would be Elina screaming at the judges, perhaps shouting, "You want to see me lose control? How's this for losing control?!?!?")? Rarely does Antm deliver such a cornucopia of petty dramas. Alas, it was not to be. Elina screamed at the judges, alright, but only after they stripped her of her shirt, loosened her hair, and practically dragged the scream from her throat. (Sounds like torture, I know, but really it's just modeling!) Now I'm convinced that Tyra writes the misleading episode descriptions for my cable guide. There's no other explanation for such a bait-and-switch. Still, it was the go-see episode, with all the models running, models getting...

The six remaining models of "America's Next Top Model" will have a wonderful as well as astonishing journey to Europe. Once again, Analeigh Tipton, Elina Ivanova, Marjorie Conrad, Brittany "McKey" Sullivan, Samantha Potter, and Sheena Sakai will compete on the next episode entitled "Planes, Trains and Slow Automobiles".
The episode will show how the ladies pack their bags and head overseas to their European destination. Soon after they arrive in the foreign land, they must browse the city around to find the exact location of their temporary place to live during the rest of the competition.
Shortly after finding their new 'home', three models feel jet lag and decide to take a bath together in order to fight it. This episode challenges the ladies to model clothing in storefront windows in a famous section of the town. Then the judges finally decide who will be the next model to be sent home.

"America's Next Top Model" next week episode will be surprising. With the title "Now You See Me, Now You Don't", the ladies pull a disappearing act for this week's challenge. Based on the clip, it can be seen that there is a person who shows up with a full dress and covered by green fabric. This kind of stimulation has the function to show the models a wonderful breakthrough for making a different appearance on television. The green fabric will only make visible the dress but not the models.
Next week in "Top Model" tradition, seven remaining girls (Marjorie, Sheena, Elina, Samantha, Analeigh, Joslyn, and McKey) test their on-camera talents when they shoot their "CoverGirl" commercial with the help of cycle 10 winner, Whitney Thompson. During judging, Tyra Banks will reveal this cycle's overseas destination and one model will be sent home.
