Written by Lindsey Allen
Directed by Stephen Williams
Airs at 9pm (Et) on Tuesdays on ABC
The farther Agent Carter moves past its initial stage of world building and character expansion, the more its confidence increases. These bravado storytelling shifts not only allow the show to expand Peggy’s world of espionage and danger, but make the characters around her more vivid. Last week, Agent Carter finally found the time to make Peggy’s coworkers interesting and even gave them a reason to care about her in return, prompting them to start viewing her as something more than a secretary. This week, everything is turned on its head as the Ssr proves Peggy is the mystery woman they are after and takes action to detain her. The episode capitalizes on the agents’ only recently established compassion towards Peggy and flips it, with...

Arrow Season 1, Episode 19 ‘Unfinished Business’
Directed by Michael Offer
Written by Bryan Q. Miller & Lindsey Allen
Airs Wednesday nights at 8pm Et on the CW
Arrow’s had a rough time trying to create interesting entities for him to battle – the first season’s featured a largely lifeless ensemble of suits and psychos who lack any kind of compelling quality. The Count was one of these, with a performance akin to a mindless caricature of the Joker to match (right down to being locked in a mental facility after being fed his own psychotic drugs at the end). Smartly, the writers decided to use him as a decoy in ‘Unfinished Business’ – but instead of seizing the opportunity to characterize him and/or present us with a new, more intriguing villain .. we get a doctor at a mental facility who manages to revitalize the Vertigo drug trade single-handedly, with only the help of a lumbering janitor.

As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."
That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy
For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.
