TV food critic Anthony Bourdain is admitting he was wrong about a Frito pie he reviewed in New Mexico on a recent episode of "Parts Unknown." In the segment, he describes the dish as "canned Hormel chili and day-glow orange cheese-like substance" dropped "like a deuce" into a bag of Fritos. He even called it a colostomy pie, which is pretty disgusting.
Mike Collins, store manager of the Five & Dime Bourdain visited, disagree with his review. His biggest issue is with the idea that they use canned chili in their recipe, the Associated Press reports. He says their is a homemade recipe. "I mean, if we're using canned Hormel Chili then I'd like to buy stock in that because what we have is good," he reasons
Bourdain's spokeswoman admits that the writer of the voice over got the information wrong. Furthermore, Bourdain has released his own statement saying he actually enjoyed the dish,...

It's a sad day for those who long to venture into space, and for those who prefer to watch those adventures from the comforts of their own home.
On Saturday afternoon, news that Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, had died shocked and saddened many. Within minutes, news of Armstrongs' death became a worldwide trending topic as space lovers, scientists, journalists, and celebrities shared their emotional and heartfelt messages, with the word "hero" used frequently.
His partner on the Apollo 11 mission, Buzz Aldrin, released a statement about the passing of his close friend:
I am very saddened to learn of the passing of Neil Armstrong today. Neil and I trained together as technical partners but were also good friends who will always be connected through our participation in the mission of Apollo 11. Whenever I look at the moon it reminds me of the moment...

John Corbett is no stranger to TV; but with his memorable roles being "Sex and the City's" woodworking Aiden and Tara's patient husband on "United States of Tara" (R.I.P.), he's not exactly the first guy you think of when you hear "Hallmark" and "made-for-tv movie." But here he is, and fun fact: He went to them to ask for this role.
Corbett stars in "A Smile as Big as the Moon" (premieres Sun., Jan. 29, 9 p.m. Est on ABC) as a football coach and special education teacher determined to take his students to space camp. Based on a true story and the memoir of the same name by teacher Mike Kersjes with Joe Layden, many of the students in the movie were played by young actors with autism, Down syndrome and learning disabilities.
Corbett opened up about how, in some ways, these productions are better than big-budget movies,...

Doctor Who had a great fifth series, save for maybe one episode: "Victory of the Daleks." That episode was quite possibly one of the worst of the entire series, and it drew groans from critics everywhere, including myself. So since the Daleks got so short-sheeted in the series, how are they going to make it up to them? Well, for one thing, they were made the feature of "City of the Daleks," the first chapter of the Doctor Who Adventure Games released in the UK. But that obviously wasn't enough, because the BBC is also giving the Daleks the main role in their new graphic novel, The Only Good Dalek.
The Only Good Dalek, released September 16 in the UK, will use a storyline that is almost unheard of for the Whoniverse: good Daleks. Well, make that singular: The Only Good Dalek. Here's the official synopsis from BBC, courtesy of Digital...

There are Vampires, Silurians and life-changing choices to be made, in this month's Doctor Who Magazine.
Four forthcoming episodes are previewed, The Vampires of Venice, Amy’s Choice, The Hungry Earth and Cold Blood and there are interviews with writers Toby Whithouse, Simon Nye, Chris Chibnall and Steven Moffat, and never-before-seen photos!
Talking about the new-look reptile people of The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood, Chris Chibnall reveals,These new creatures don’t negate the original Silurians, they’re a different exploration of the same idea. They’re close cousins. And once you see Neve McIntosh (who plays Silurians Alaya and Restac) and Matt Smith acting their socks off together, I’m hoping you’ll feel the idea paid off.

Head writer Steven Moffat gets his head flushed down the loo and tells what else happened when Matt Smith and Karen Gillan went back to school with the Doctor Who team,...

This Weekend's Spring Memorabilia 2010, at Birmingham's NEC, features several comic book writers and artists among its special guests.
Among those in the convention's Comic City will be Coventry-based Al Davison, whose work includes Idw's Doctor Who comic book (pictured) and DC's House of Mystery.
I carried an interview with Al in November, in which he gave his verdict on comic book movies such as The Dark Knight and Watchmen, and his views on the best and worst of the genre. You can read that article here.
Other comics talent at the event include Mike Collins (Spider-Man, Transformers, 2000Ad, Star Trek), Keith Burns (Devashard, Spy School, Boys), Hunt Emmerson (Beano, Fiesta, Fortean Times), John McCrea (many Marvel and DC titles), Lee Bradley (Transformers, Spider-Man), Lew Stringer (all major publishers), Kat Nicholson (Marvel Heroes, Action Man Atom, Scooby Doo), Jason Cardy (Henry V) and Laura Howell (Beano, Toxic).
