Marcel Walz (Blood Feast, That’s a Wrap) pays homage to 1970s classics with his next horror movie Brute 1976, and we’ve been exclusively provided with the official poster today.
From Neon Noir, the upcoming Brute 1976 is said to be a love letter to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes, with Joe Knetter (Twilight of the Dead) writing.
That love for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, in particular, is front and center on this first official poster for the upcoming movie. Check it out below to see what we mean.
In the film, “‘In 1976, Raquel and her girlfriend have car trouble and break down on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. They stumble upon an abandoned mine and decide to explore it. At the same time a group of people are in the desert for a photoshoot. The plan is...

Exclusive: Toronto-based genre sales specialist Raven Banner has added Neon Noir horror pics Brute 1976 and Garden of Eden to its Cannes Film Market slate.
Brute 1976 from director Marcel Walz is marketed as a throwback to horror classics such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and follows a group of friends who stumble upon the desert town Savage while looking for a spot to set their latest photo shoot, only to meet the depraved, mask-wearing Birdy family, who begin hunting them down one by one.
Sarah French, Gigi Gustin, Dazelle Yvette and Adriane McLean star.
Garden of Eden follows the wealthy and devout Eden family, who choose one lucky guest from each of their parties and give them the opportunity to fulfil their greatest desires. However, a life-changing dream for some may become a nightmare for others.
Walz is the director, and like Brute 1976, was written by Joe Knetter.

Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar very much wants to be one of the plethora of low-budget 1970s knock offs of Star Wars riding the comet tail of that phenomenon. It’s just not bad enough to be lumped in with Bartle Beyond the Stars or the 3-D mess of Spacehunters. Nor is it good enough to be a thoughtful low-budget meditation on the soul. It falls in between and is quickly forgotten the moment you turn off the DVD of the 2022 release, out now from Uncork’d Entertainment.
Late in the 30th century, mankind has somehow managed to survive the contemporary mess we’ve made of ourselves and has even managed to find a way to preserve the human soul, reducing it to a blue goo. The catch is that it’s expensive, so only the top 1% of the 1% can afford it, although starship captain Kip Corman (Michael Paré), a scavenger eking out a living,...

Neon Noir, the creative team behind the stalker thriller Blind, its still-unreleased sequel Pretty Boy, the slasher That’s a Wrap, and the upcoming horror film Garden of Eden, is back at it. Deadline reports that they have just wrapped production on Brute 1976, a horror project described as an homage to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. The original, ’70s versions of those films happen to be two of my all-time favorites, so this movie already has my attention.
Directed by Marcel Walz from a screenplay by Joe Knetter, Brute 1976 begins with Raquel and her girlfriend, whose car breaks down in the middle of nowhere as they travel to a photoshoot in the desert to celebrate Bicentennial unity . They stumble across an abandoned mine and explore it, while the photoshoot group replace her with make-up artist Sunshine and then find abandoned town Savage, which has a violent history...

Michael Su’s 2023 film, Bloodthirst, is about a vampire hunter who earns his bread slaying vampires in a post-apocalyptic world. This world is overrun by vampires and is controlled mainly by two factions, who are always at war. As for humans, they remain few in number. As a result, both factions of the blood-sucking beasts are on the brink of extinction, owing to both starvation and the growing threat of vampire hunters who’ll do anything to free this world from these demons. The vampires, on the flip side, often infiltrate human populations in large numbers to drain them of their blood and increase their numbers. As a fallout, they are in continuous dispute with their human counterparts. Those who’re lucky die, and those who aren’t, usually end up joining their flock. They aren’t like the usual vampires we see in the movies, who only poke at night to fill their bellies.

Bloodthirst is from the folks at Mahal Empire, last year they gave us their version of the zombie apocalypse, Bridge of the Doomed. This year they’re revisiting the apocalypse, only in Bloodthirst the threat comes from a different strain of the undead, vampires. Interestingly, both films were directed by Michael Su and written by Adrian Milnes this time with a story credit to Massimiliano Cerchi
In the world of Bloodthirst two factions of vampires fight for control of what’s left of the planet. What’s left of humanity is caught in the middle and rapidly heading for extinction, something that would doom the vampires as well. John Shepard walks that world as a vampire hunter who’s on the trail of The Master Vampire.

The creative team behind Blind (watch it Here, read my review at This Link) and its sequel Pretty Boy recently launched a production company called Neon Noir, and their first production is a giallo thriller called That’s a Wrap, starring Cerina Vincent of Cabin Fever. Quiver Distribution gave the film a digital release back in August, and it has now made its way over to the Tubi streaming service – and to promote the film now that it’s free to stream, we have the Exclusive first look at a new trailer for That’s a Wrap that shows off quotes from the bad reviews the movie has received! The bad reviews cited things like “too much gore” and “too much nudity” as negatives. You can watch the bad reviews trailer for That’s a Wrap in the embed above.

Plot: When filmmaker Mason Maestro throws a private party after production wraps on his new slasher flick, someone dressed like the killer in the movie starts knocking off the partiers one-by-one.
Review: After working together on the stalker film Blind (read my review at This Link) and its sequel Pretty Boy (which we’re still anxiously waiting to see), director Marcel Walz, screenwriter Joe Knetter, and star Sarah French have teamed up once again to launch a production company called Neon Noir. Their first production is That’s a Wrap, a giallo slasher that takes both clear inspiration from the works of Italian filmmakers like Mario Bava and Dario Argento – especially due to the fact that Walz and cinematographer Marcus Friedlander have soaked nearly every shot in colorful lighting – and from the Scream franchise, in that it’s a meta film where the characters work in the horror business.

Marcel Walz’s That’s a Wrap unites the director’s visually dazzling style with the Giallo subgenre in a match made in horror heaven. Vibrant scenes, solid performances, and a killer synth soundtrack accent this fun murder mystery that’s sure to please a wide array of horror fans.
That’s a Wrap begins just as a fictional “That’s a Wrap” has finished filming. Teaser trailer fresh off the shelf, director Mason (Robert Donavan) gathers the cast of his newest Giallo horror movie to celebrate a wrap party with his wife, veteran actress Lily (Monique Parent). The cast, including the film’s final girl Harper (Sarah French), quickly become bored with the tame party, and scatter about the studios and set pieces. Not unlike the very film they’re celebrating, sex, drugs, and booze quickly rule the evening. Unfortunately, another element of “That’s a Wrap” has crashed the party…...

In Garden of Eden, “The Eden family are devout Christians and do everything they can to live the word of God and set an example of what is right and wrong. They have been very successful in business and are rich beyond their needs. In order to give back, the family throws garden parties. Each guest that is lucky enough to find a key gets to have their most wished for dream come true. But a dream for some can be a nightmare for others.

New ‘Neighbours’ As Reprieved Series Prepares Return
The return of long-running Australian soap “Neighbours” will see a new family, the Varga-Murphys, featuring mums, Remi (Naomi Rukavina) and Cara (Sara West) and teenage sons, JJ (Riley Bryant) and Dex (Marley Williams), moving to the iconic Ramsay Street.
West said: “Cara has a bold, impassioned love for her family and I love that her intentions have, so far, always been good. I hope having the Varga-Murphys on telly will help better reflect the beautiful Lgbtqia+ community that I’m proud to be a part of and I can’t wait to share the family with you.”
Rukavina added: “As a stalwart of Australian drama television, the show is on the front foot of showcasing diverse and real representations of Australian families, not in a tokenistic way.”
“Neighbours,” produced by Fremantle, will premiere for free, exclusively on Amazon Freevee in the U.K.

Spoiler Alert… I f**king loved Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar.
This was quite possibly the most fun I have had watching a sci-fi movie as of late… Any budget! You know you’re in for an absolute ride when in the first 10 minutes the line “I’m going to bathe in your blood and tears” is dropped. Normally a scary thought if it hadn’t been for the massive lava dragon wormy dinosaur thing moments prior.
I will always be a fan of a movie that is fully aware that it maybe doesn’t have the budget it needs to be the movie it wants to be, but does not let that stand in its way of throwing...

Plot: Space scavengers and a group of mercenaries race across the cosmos in a search for a long-lost freighter that is said to contain great treasure.
Review: I have a lot of admiration for filmmakers who don’t let financial limitations stifle their creativity or force them to minimize the scope of their stories. In that regard, there’s a lot to admire about director Garo Setian’s sci-fi adventure film Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar. Just like the title instantly brings to mind Star Wars, Space Wars is reminiscent of the low budget sci-fi movies producers like Roger Corman pumped out in the wake of the original Star Wars’ success. You know, movies like Battle Beyond the Stars and the movies that featured stock footage from Battle Beyond the Stars. Space Wars just happens to have been made on an even lower budget than those had.

"It can't be found." Neither can any good directors, I guess. Uncork'd Ent. has revealed an official trailer for a low budget sci-fi creation called Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar, marking the feature directorial debut of an editor named Garo Setian. Yeah there isn't much here. The title and the footage looks like it's another The Asylum spoof, with even worse VFX. Life is an adventure for space scavengers Kip Corman and his daughter Taylor as they navigate their ship through a universe filled with monsters, aliens, and robots in order to reach the mythical Deepstar and collect the riches within. They want to make bank in hopes that the money will allow them to bring back their loved one from the dead. The action-packed sci-fi adventure movie stars Michael Paré, Olivier Gruner, Sarah French, Tyler Gallant, Rachele Brooke Smith, and Sadie Katz. This looks so hilariously bad, it's beyond parody,...

It’s been a while since I’ve watched a low-budget sci-fi action movie that wants to be a big-budget sci-fi movie but that’s exactly what you get with Space Wars: Quest For The Deepstar. The filmmakers did not let a lack of funds get in the way of lots of CGI, huge monsters, spacecraft and futuristic weaponry!

For his feature-film debut, director Adam Werth throws audiences into the action on the Los Angeles streets. A sting operation results in FBI agents arresting arms dealer Diego Montalban (Noel Gugliemi). He is escorted onto a plane by armed federal officers, although a freak storm causes the flight to crash-land onto the titular island. As the plane-crash survivors separate into factions and grapple with the mysterious island’s inhabitants, the spectre of the TV series Lost looms over the film. Bridge of the Doomed certainly can’t be accused of being a slow burn. Within the first few minutes, an army base comes under attack, and a group of civilians is overrun and eaten by zombies. And there’s no hesitation to put the bloody results on the screen. This is the zombie apocalypse 80s style, except it isn’t badly dubbed into English.
After the opening attack, General Vasquez sends a squad led by Lt Whitmore and Sgt. Hernandez to hold a bridge or destroy it in necessary, while they wait for reinforcements to arrive. Getting those reinforcements falls to the ominously named Colonel Charon.

I’m going to be totally honest here and state that I did not see Marcel Walz’s Blind, of which this film – Pretty Boy – is a direct sequel. A direct sequel in early Friday the 13th style, where this film literally continues exactly after the events of the first movie (which are recapped somewhat in the opening titles) and continue what, I have no doubt, will be an extended series of films featuring our creepy masked-faced killer.
Er, “mask faced killer”, does that sound Just like the Friday the 13th franchise to you? I jest but it seems, given how much this film focuses on blood, guts and gore – much mores than the first (apparently) – that Walz’s is very much following that series footsteps...

New Pretty Boy Poster and Photos: "Pretty Boy, the follow up to the award-winning film Blind, has completed principal photography. Pretty Boy, directed by Marcel Walz and written by Joe Knetter, continues the story they set in motion in Blind.
Pretty Boy just finished the Post Production with Company 3
Marcel Walz (Director)
“Filming Pretty Boy the way we did was a dream comes true for me. It is beautiful, fun, gory and creepy. Seeing our Killer, “Pretty Boy”, slashing through this love letter to the 80s is what I have always wanted to do! Also, as an LGBTQ Director, I could go crazy on set design for the Valentine’s party and overall theme in the movie, so be prepared for a lot of pinks, glitter and some intestines Lol!“
Joe Knetter (Writer)
“Filming Pretty Boy was an amazing experience. Every single person on the cast and crew brought their ‘A’ game.

One of more entertaining bits of indie horror from the last few years is “Blind,” a gloriously melodramatic suspense thriller that veers into slasher from director Marcel Walz and writer Joe Knetter, that slipped in amid all the chaos of the last half of 2020.
“Blind” focused on an actress (Sarah French) putting her life back together after being blinded in a botched laser eye surgery, but the hook was sex obsessed killer wearing a very Ken doll-esque mask called “Pretty Boy” (Jed Rowen). Filming just wrapped on the sequel, the eponymously titled “Pretty Boy,” and in advance of the first trailer you can enjoy some extremely cool first look images below.
First up is the poster which, yeah inject it into our veins please.
Due for release later this year, “Pretty Boy” sees the return of Sarah French with Rowen as the title character. It also stars Heather Grace Hancock...

A few early plot details are coming out for Michael Su's (Bridge of the Doomed) Death Count. Previously titled Numb3rs, this film involves a sinister executioner, who picks his victims based on how many social media likes they gain, or do not gain. This feature is being developed by productions houses: Mahal Empire and Blaen-y-Bootleg Films. Also, this title includes a huge gathering of exectuvie producers, including: Jon Adams (Black River), Robert Dujmusic (Lockdown), Wesley Cannon (Bloodthirst) and Mem Ferda (The Devil's Double) and dozens of others. As well, the cast is comprised of Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs), Costas Mandylor (Saw IV), Robert Lasardo and Sarah French. All of these crewmembers and cast have come together to make a stylish horror feature for later this year, or 2021.
