Graham Denman’s feature debut has all the makings of contemporary commentary on the filmmaking industry with a murderous twist. Horror fans always rave about well-executed practical effects, but why stop with warehouse replicas of exploding heads? Greenlight is about a director’s dream opportunity, except the last death in his picture – according to producers – […]

Greenlight is an indie horror film from the Horror Collective. Centrally focused on Jack (Chase Williamson), this filmmaker will do whatever it takes to make a film. But, some of the cast and crew on Jack's next production might have taken their roles a little too far. This feature has won an Audience Award for "Best Suspense Film" at the Another Hole in the Head Film Festival. Now, Greenlight is getting set to leave the film festivals behind in favour of the Digital marketplace. From director Graham Denman, Greenlight also stars: Shane Coffey (Starry Eyes), Caroline Williams (Tales of Halloween), Nicole Alexandra Shipley and Evanne Friedmann. The film's release date is scheduled for the end of the month. Greenlight is the filmmaking term in which a film is given the go-ahead - for production. Usually a script is greenlit by studios or production companies, with the studio head giving the final thumbs up.

Tagline: "Kissing Counts Cheaters." Valentine's Day was partially created by Geoffrey Chaucer. He said of love: "in love there is but little rest," amongst other things. This day comes but once a year. And, this year, CrypTV has launched a new short film, titled "Valentine's Die!" This short film was created by writer and director Graham Denman (The Divine Tragedies). It stars Arielle Brachfeld (Chemical Peel, 2014), Dan Creed and Matt Mercer. Originally released in 2016, the entire short can be found below. In the short, Samantha (Brachfeld) is having fun without her boyfriend. When Owen (Mercer) comes home, he brings a little, flying friend along with him. Cupid is not happy that all of the characters are cheating, even though: "there was no penetration." "Kissing Counts Cheaters!" As you go about your Valentine's Day, you should take a moment to see one of the funnier shorts, below. And, much like Michael Myers,...

Even though the holidays are upon us, that doesn’t mean the horror and sci-fi genres are slowing down, especially on the VOD side of things. Brothers Jon and James Kondelik continue to reveal more from their film, The Divine Tragedies. This film, which is based on the famous Leopold and Loeb murder case, has been reset to film. Each clip shows more of the film and more of their plan, to get away with the perfect crime. The clips are titled: "Alley Scene," "Masterpiece," "Butterflies," and "Where are the Keys." *full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by producer and actor Jon Kondelik. Kondelik and this critic have worked together, in the past. Director/writer: Jose Prendes. Cast: Graham Denman, Hannah Levien, Barbara Crampton, Sean Whalen, Ken Foree and Lynn Lowry. The Divine Tragedies is an unreleased film from production house Dual Visions. Developed by Jose Prendes (The Haunting of Whaley House), The Divine Tragedies is a tale of two murderous brothers. On separate paths, the two brothers come to blows, on their murderous tactics and ideologies. The film also introduces a host of horror stars, but most are underused. Instead, this indie feature focuses on one brother's destruction and descent into madness. Meanwhile, the green and red lighting added in a nightmarish quality, while the story developed in a dream-like fashion, overall. The Divine Tragedies offers a compelling story and indie film fans will enjoy the film's central conflict.

Jon Kondelik and his brother James Kondelik are releasing a second trailer for The Divine Tragedies, today. A Dual Visions production, The Divine Tragedies takes a chapter from the 1920s Leopold and Loeb murder case, in which two men tried to get away with murder. In this update, Charles (Graham Denman) and Thomas (Jon Kondelik) are two brothers, who target a vulnerable, single mother. They believe their wits will win the day, until Detective Homer Gaul (Ken Foree) enters the picture. A true visual marvel, the second trailer shows more of the film's story, characters and dangerous situations. As well, the producers, along with director Jose Prendes, have unveiled several more posters. In quad form, the graphics host quotes from early film reviews. Matt Boiselle (Dreadcentral) and Mark Miller are quoted and both film critics enjoyed the surreal atmosphere of the film. All three new quad posters can also be seen here.

Two psychotic brothers are on a rampage to fulfill their fantasies of murder but at what cost? Are they willing to give up their close bond of brotherhood? It's that bond that sits at the center of Jose Prendes' The Divine Tragedies, a low-budget offering from the producing team of brothers Jon and James Kondelik.
The movie, starring Graham Denman and Jon Kondelik as the brothers, is quite obviously an indie production but man, there's a great energy to this trailer and if you can overlook some mediocre special effects, this looks like a promising mind bender of a little horror movie.
The Divine Tragedies is currently in post production.

As well, the film centrally stars: Barbara Crampton, Ken Foree, Lynn Lowry, Sean Whalen and Graham Denman. Now, a new poster is available for the film. To be more specific on the story, Charles Brubaker (Denman) and Thomas Lo Bianco (Jon Kondelik) are two brothers, with evil intentions. They hope to pull off the perfect murder and their first target is a young, single mother. Their list of targets grows, while a desperate detective tries to intervene. indie horror films The Divine Tragedies has revealed yet another one-sheet, this is probably the best one yet. The Divine Tragedies is a film which takes its story from truth. Leopold and Loeb were two intellectuals, who thought they could get away with the perfect murder, in 1924’s Chicago.
In Jose Prendes’ vision, the two killers are brothers. Set in the modern era, Charles Brubaker (Graham Denman) and Thomas Lo Bianco (Jon Kondelik) believe they are above the law and they kill without mercy. Their murders become more and more gruesome, until Detective Homer (Ken Foree) is able to intervene. But, Homer is only a few steps away from his own tragedy.

Dual Visions has pulled back more of the curtain for the horror feature The Divine Tragedies. An official trailer for the film is now available. The clip, from director Jose Prendes and producers Jon and James Kondelik, shows two ruthless characters and their desire to carry out of the perfect crime. From writer/director Jose Prendes comes The Divine Tragedies, a horror film about two intellectual brothers who want to kill just for the experience. The brothers, played by Graham Denman and Jon Kondelik, find that the deed is easier said then done as both their relationships and minds begin to break. The trailer for the film looks like nothing else this year and gets progressively more unusual as it goes on. The film also features a pseudo-From Beyond reunion with Ken Foree as a detective and Barbara Crampton as the boy’s mother. The film will be released in 2015.

The trailer for the Jose Prendes-directed "existential serial killer film" The Divine Tragedies made its online debut today.
The film, based loosely on the famous Leopold and Loeb murder case, tells the tale of Charles Brubaker (Graham Denman) and his half-brother Thomas Lo Bianco (Jon Kondelik), who concoct a deadly game to test their superior intelligence against the dimwitted masses.
This game will eventually lead to murder, and when Genevieve, a beautiful single mother, enters their lives they finally find the perfect girl for their first kill. But problems arise when they quickly discover that Detective Homer Gaul (Ken Foree), a cop with a very special gift, is hot on their trail.

The Jumpcut Cafe has long been the hangout spot for the horror crowd in Hollywood, and for very good reason. Not only does the cafe feature screenings of both popular and hard to find classic horror films, but it also showcases new films by some of the most exciting young talents working in Hollywood today. Curator Elric Kane has a very eclectic taste in movies, and is a smart programmer who reaches far into the indie horror community find the best, most cutting-edge short films possible. What follows are my favorite films of the night, in no particular order.
Far Out, directed by Phil Mucci, opened the night. Far Out is a, well, far out vampire flick that takes place during the swinging sixties. The film perfectly captures the mood and look of a space age, mod bachelor pad shindig. Far out is a fun, at times...

Another still has arrived for Joston Theney's new project Adam K., and we have this bad boy for you right here. The still features Sarah Nicklin as "Amanda Cole," who's apparently trying desperately to avoid the warm, bloody embrace of the flick's big bad.
"What really makes the killer so scary is that he could literally be any 'normal' guy that you run into on the street," says Nicklin. "He's completely unassuming (until all Hell breaks loose)."
She continues, "I think the biggest impact it would have [on horror fans] is to make people look over their shoulder and be more suspicious of their neighbors or the good samaritans that seemingly just want to help them out because you never know what their ulterior motives might really be."
Writer/director Joston "El Rey" Theney has announced that Adam K. will soon be making its way to theaters and home video. Theney previously said,...

On a special day of shooting writer-director Jose Prendes’ Divine Tragedies with the fantastic Ken Foree, Dread Central was invited to watch some... well… shooting. In the scene they were about to film, Foree’s character gets shot. Whether he lives or dies, we can’t say...
But here’s what Prendes had to say:
Dread Central: So, tell us how you assembled this amazing cast!
Jose Prendes: Ken Foree and Barbara Crampton were always on our list, but we never thought we could get them, or thought they would be into it, because the roles are very stylized. Especially Barbara's role, which is very unique, and she hasn't really played anything like that before. So for her to call me up and say, 'This is a really disturbing script but it would make such a lovely movie and I want to be a part of it,' really means a lot.

It’s a sunny day in Southern California. That’s not unusual. An independent movie is being shot in a quiet residential neighborhood. That’s the norm. There are a few horror icons sprinkled throughout the cast. Typical.
What’s not so usual is that The Divine Tragedies isn’t your basic stab and slab. It’s a layered family drama which just happens to have some blood and gore. At the center of this dangerous dynamic is a cop who’s hunting a team of killer brothers – but he’s got an advantage because he’s psychic. That, and he’s played by the great Ken Foree.
We caught up with Ken on set (and some of the other cast... stay tuned for more interviews) and asked him what it’s been like to play the eccentric detective.
