Err, so technically we are slightly under two months away from the 89th annual Academy Awards, but we wanted to see how things shook out at Sunday's Golden Globes -- plus, let SAG, the PGA and BAFTA weigh in -- before making our next round of predictions.
As a wise woman once said, "One day you're in, and the next day you're out." That has proven truer than ever this awards season, where things appear less certain after each round of nominations. All that said, here is where we stand ahead of the Oscars' official announcement on Jan. 24...

It's been seven years since fashion designer Tom Ford made his directorial debut with the drama A Single Man. Now the filmmaker is back with his highly anticipated second feature film, Nocturnal Animals. The movie earned rave reviews and early Oscar buzz at the Venice Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival. (Check out People's first look here.) Now there's a teaser for the film's trailer - with the full-length trailer set to debut on Thursday. In the teaser, Ford's signature style and aesthetic is on full display - and the subject matter is a little darker than A Single Man's lush romance.

The gang’s all here in the first image of The Avengers: Age of Ultron cast!
The newly released image from the upcoming superhero sequel comes to us from a scene that we previously got a glimpse of in the teaser trailer. The Avengers, plus a few hangers-on are witnessing the off-screen entrance of the evil robot Ultron in the scene the still is taken from.

San Diego — Rumor had it that during their highly anticipated Comic-Con panel Marvel Studios would announce which actor is playing the new Doctor Strange in Scott Derrickson's upcoming big screen adaptation. Rumor also had it that Marvel would reveal who is playing Captain Marvel, a much-needed super-powered female Avenger that is expected to cameo in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Neither event happened. Instead, the studio announced that a sequel to "Guardians of the Galaxy" has already been greenlit and it already has a release date of July 28, 2017. Oh yeah, and they showed a massive amount of footage from Joss Whedon's "Avengers" sequel with almost the entire cast on hand. A who's who of Hollywood stars including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Elisabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Paul Bettany...

Sixty years after Godzilla was first introduced to the world, the monster is back on the big screen. And this time, the original kaiju is bigger than ever. In the 2014 edition, size matters but so does heart. Thanks to an award-winning cast—Bryan Crantson, Ken Watanabe, and Elizabeth Olsen—the monster film is grounded in a world of reality and emotion that transforms the monster into something more than a creature of destruction. Ahead of the premiere, VH1 breaks down 10 essentials you need to know before going to see it.
It’s all about the tease
If there’s one surprising thing about the new film it’s how long fans have to wait to see Godzilla in full. Director Gareth Edwards (Monsters) teases the appearance of the monster before revealing it about an hour into the film. The tease plays out similarly to Jurassic Park and Super 8, both of...

What I like the most about what I’m seeing from Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla is that it looks to be the story of a family. Bryan Cranston’s grandfather sees Juliette Binoche die and we follow his son, Aaron Taylor-Johnston and his wife Elizabeth Olson. Also Godzilla and some other giant monsters attack.
This is better than I could have imagined, And I Did Imagine.
Check out the new spot for Godzilla that features his mighty roar and below check out a feature as Gareth Edwards himself talks his “real” philosophies.

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson says it’s the love story at the center of Fifty Shades of Grey that drew her to the project. But for readers familiar with the sexually elicit trilogy, which begins filming in Vancouver next week, Fifty Shades of Grey is no traditional love story.
As it turns out Taylor-Johnson is no traditional director. For those of you unfamiliar with Taylor-Johnson, the 46-year-old mother of four daughters is a British visual artist and photographer who once posed with her ex-boyfriend, artist Henry Bond, in a re-creation of the famous naked John Lennon-Yoko Ono photograph. "Salinger" writer-director Shane Salerno, behind the book and recent documentary that uncovers the reclusive J.D. Salinger (1919-2010), is penning a feature film biopic about the 20th-century author for the Weinstein Co. It will cover the decade from World War II through the publication of his first novel, "The Catcher in The Rye" (1951), all from when Salinger was 23 to 33. Though reviews of "Salinger" have been mixed since the film (literally) crash-landed at Telluride last month (our Toh! review here), Salerno's doc has undoubtedly renewed interest in the seminal writer long-relegated to high school syllabi and references in Wes Anderson films. The documentary does not shy from his philandering with younger women, his resistance to fame and some of the dark demons swirling in his soul. Who do you think should play the notoriously elusive writer, who was a tall man at 6'2"? Take our poll below: Who should play J.D. Salinger?...

Back in 2010, Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass, an adaption of Mark Millar's hyper violent series of the same name, came out of nowhere, turning what we knew about superhero movies on it's head, and delivering one of the most enjoyable comic book movies in recent years. Mixing in a realism we hadn't really seen before in comic book movies, while not afraid to go a bit crazy at times, it hit the perfect tone between the dark and humorous in a tale which saw a normal teenager don a costume to fight crime. Now the sequel has arrived on our doorstep, with Jeff Wadlow taking on writing and directing duties, while it does a good job of keeping the spirit of the original, it falls a bit short of scaling it's heights. But that's not to say there is not a lot to like here. Far from it! Adapting the Kick-Ass 2 comic,...

Reports suggest that Kick-Ass' Aaron Taylor-Johnson may be set to play the lead in Gareth Edwards' Godzilla...
It's the end of a news-filled week for Gareth Edwards' Godzilla movie, with the departure of three producers and the revelation that Frank Darabont has been signed up to provide a late-hour script rewrite.
We've also heard rumours about the shortlist of actors who might take on the film's lead, with Henry Cavill, Scoot McNairy and Caleb Landry Jones among the would-be suitors. But in typical Hollywood rumour fashion, the actor who's reportedly been offered the starring role is one that never appeared to be on the list in the first place - Kick-Ass himself, Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
The word is that, although he's interesed, Taylor-Johnson hasn't agreed to the role yet, and is waiting to read Darabont's rewrite. No pressure then, Frank.

Three years ago he was a 19-year-old getting his Hollywood break. Now Aaron Taylor-Johnson has two kids and is married to artist Sam Taylor-Wood. As his career matures with roles in Anna Karenina and Oliver Stone's Savages, the actor explains why all he really wants to do is work with his wife

Seattle (Rns) Jim Henderson has a pitch for Hollywood: "The 700 Club" meets "Real Time with Bill Maher" meets "Big Brother."
Henderson, a 63-year-old self-proclaimed failed Christian pastor and "spiritual anthropologist" living in Seattle, believes he may have found his real spiritual calling in reality TV, and has turned to YouTube to drum up interest in his idea.
From his experiences creating and running Off The Map, a 12-year-old organization that produces events exposing Christians to non-Christians (it has even paid outsiders to critique Christian churches and purchased the soul of an atheist on eBay in exchange for his assessments of church services), Henderson has developed a potential TV show called "Save Me!" that would put passionate believers of different faiths under one roof.
