New Delhi, Sep 4 (Ians) Bengal and India-a cricketer Abhimanyu Easwaran has been on the fringe of the national team for the last few years. His mighty statistics in First class and List-a cricket are impressive and justify his talent. He has scored at an average of 47.27 over 34 innings for India A as an opener, with six hundred and a best of 233.
Abhimanyu has been a productive batter for Bengal. Except for one season—the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy—in which he scored just 258 runs in 17 innings, he barely missed any chance to score runs.
However, when the Indian squad was announced for the West Indies tour, which marked the beginning of a new Wtc cycle, Abhimanyu found himself ignored.
While Yashasvi Jaiswal made his debut in the Indian Team after a magnificent Ipl and domestic performance, Abhimanyu, despite scoring a lot of runs, is still waiting for the India cap.

New Delhi, March 30 (Ians) Gujarat Titans (Gt) pacer Shivam Mavi has recalled his Ipl 2023 player auction experience and said that he was a bit surprised when his auction stopped at Inr 1.10 crore during the Indian Premier League (Ipl) 2023 auction.
The 24-year-old right-arm fast bowler entered the auction at a base price of Inr 40 lakh. There was a brief pause after the bidding surpassed Inr 1 crore, but it was later resumed. Eventually, the Gujarat Titans acquired Mavi’s services for Inr 6 crore.
“Like last year we won here. Now that I have joined them, I am thinking I want to help us be champions again. During the auctions, I was in Nagaland playing a Ranji Trophy match for Uttar Pradesh. You must have seen earlier that my auction stopped at Inr 1.10 crore and I was wondering why it stopped so early,” Mavi said in a video shared by Gujarat Titans.

Mumbai, Jan 14 (Ians) The national selection committee’s decision to include white-ball specialist Suryakumar Yadav ahead of upcoming red-ball specialists, especially Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan, has raised a lot of dust with some former players and fans blasting the selectors for their decision.
Former India opener and noted commentator Aakash Chopra is one of the first to react on the issue and said Sarfaraz Khan might feel cheated for not being picked in the squad for the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Series despite some good performances in domestic red-ball cricket.
The selectors on Friday evening named wicket-keeper-batter Ishan Kishan beside stylish batter Suryakumar Yadav in the 17-member Indian Test squad for the first two games against Australia, beginning on February 9.
Suryakumar, who has been in brilliant form in T20Is for India, has also been included. He made his first-class debut way back in December 2010 and has 5549 runs...

ReviewDirector Jeethu Joseph once again throws a googly, presenting a darker, unexpected side of the protagonist and creating another enjoyable thriller, albeit with a few problems in the end.CrisAsif Ali in a police uniform is easy to get used to, perhaps because he was just seen in one in Kuttavum Shikshayum, Rajeev Ravi’s last. In Kooman, he is already on screen in the first scene, wearing a civil police officer’s uniform, smoking, walking into a scene of crime where a robbery had occurred. Solving it in minutes, he establishes himself as a smart police officer, but it is too early to put him in that bracket of the crime-solving good-natured ones of popular police stories. Director Jeethu Joseph once again throws a googly, presenting a darker, unexpected side of the protagonist and creating another enjoyable thriller. Kooman however eventually loses the grip it has in the earlier half,...

Q) How has your training and practice been lately?
A) I have been focusing and working on certain technical aspects lately. We athletes always have room for improvement and it is a constant learning curve for us. In the current scenario, fitness cannot be ignored if you want to continue playing professional cricket in the long run. Hence, I am evaluating and working on all aspects lately.
Q) You have been a part of Kkr (Kolkata Knight Riders) for so long now and played under different captains? So, how was Shreyas Iyer as a captain?
A) Kkr is one of the best teams in the Ipl. I have had the opportunity to play under the leadership of many successful captains.
