He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2020 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to British Farming in Greater London SW11, England.
Was an unsuccessful Conservative Party candidate for the Chippenham (UK) constituency for the 2010 general election.
