The movie drops in select theaters on February 24, before getting a release on Netflix on March 10.
It's a similar tactic employed by Glass Onion: A Knives Out Story, which worked out very well.

True crime podcast “The Clearing” is set to be adapted as a TV series by Chernin Entertainment and Weimaraner Republic Pictures.
The scripted series will revolve around the life of April Balascio, whose story is the focus of the “The Clearing” podcast. Balascio was 40 in 2009 when she reached out to detectives to Ohio to discuss her suspicion that her father, Edward Wayne Edwards, had committed a double murder when she was 11 years old. Balascio’s revelation set off an investigation that led to her father’s confession to several murders.
The series will examine the impact of Edwards’ crimes on his family and how Balascio’s life changed after she turned him in to law enforcement. The story took another unusual turn when a retired detective began to try to connect Edwards to other notorious unsolved murders including the 1996 death of JonBenet Ramsey.

War, dragons, camaraderie and romance – it’s too soon for another Game of Thrones trailer, so it’s gotta be Tolkien. Fox Searchlight released a second trailer for the upcoming biopic today, giving even more clues about the approach the film will take in chronicling both the life and the imagination of the groundbreaking author of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
The new trailer begins with a direct-to-camera address from stars Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins – he plays young John Ronald Reuel Tolkien and she’s Edith Bratt, the woman and muse who’ll become the author’s wife. Two things to note: Hoult, and so Fox Searchlight, intentionally or unintentionally seem to wade into the Spielberg-Netflix brouhaha. “We’re so grateful to be part of this project,” Hoult says, “and we can’t wait for you to see it on the big screen.”

A new Fox Searchlight trailer might have a familiar ring to it, but this journey to Middle-earth comes via the true story of the magical world’s one-of-a-kind creator. Tolkien, in theaters this May, stars Nicholas Hoult as author J.R.R. Tolkien, born in South Africa, raised in England and elevated to immortality on millions of bookshelves around the world with the publications of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Tolkien’s immersive epics and richly realized worlds made his novels international sensations, and his detailed guides to his worlds inspired modern myth-makers like George Lucas, James Cameron, George R.R. Martin, and, of course, Peter Jackson, who guided Gandalf, Bilbo, Smaugh, and other Tolkien creations to the screen in historic fashion.

A popular trend for young, rising actors is to take on the Ya novel franchise, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley is following suit. According to Variety, the young star has joined Lionsgate for an adaptation of Chaos Walking, which is set in a world where all living things can hear each other’s thoughts. The novel are a — wait for it — trilogy, so clearly the studio wants this thing to take off, but the big question will be if Ridley can balance it with the demands of the Star Wars saga commitment. Despite this traditional choice, however, Ridley continues to mix her growing filmography palette with interesting choices, as she can be heard narrating a documentary on a young Mongolian eagle huntress soon, as well as starring in a reimagining of Hamlet from Ophelia’s perspective.

The name John Waters can conjure up many an image. Be it of the director himself (that mustache is as much a calling card as any of his feature films) or of his controversial films, few directors have built a cult around themselves like Waters. Best friend to the rejects, scumbags, losers and perverts, Waters and his films have become not only points of discussion for government officials lamenting about the nation’s dissolving morals but rallying points for those who live on the outside of popular culture.
And yet even he has one of those pesky “rarely seen” films that has seemingly become a forgotten curio for only the biggest of fans. That is, until Janus Films got hold of it. Entitled Multiple Maniacs, Waters marked his second feature by making a film that even had judicial figures like Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Joseph H.

Making good on years of tentative "we'll sees" from both the creator and network, Curb Your Enthusiasm will indeed return to HBO. The network on Tuesday announced a ninth season for the beloved Larry David comedy, though a formal return date was not included. Curb Your Enthusiasm last aired an original episode in September 2011, and the nearly five-year gap since has seen neither HBO nor David ready to publicly dismiss the idea of revisiting the show. Considering that more than 30 million copies of the various Mega Man games have been sold, it.s safe to say that there are quite a few fans out there. While it.s been reported before, even fairly recently as an animated series, it.s starting to look like we.re getting a Mega Man movie. That.s one reason for fans to be optimistic about this adaptation. Peter Chernin, the namesake of the company, will produce Mega Man, while David Ready (Red) and Michael Finfer will oversee the operations.

Will Ferrell is attached to star in 'Walter Mitty' scribe Steve Conrad's "Match Maker" which deals with the legendary battle of the sexes tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.
Based on Don Van Natta Jr.'s Espn.com article, "The Match Maker" the story follows the high profile rivalry between the two tennis pros and their iconic 1973 tennis match watched by 90 million worldwide.
55-year-old Riggs claimed female tennis was inferior and challenged King to a match. She declined, but women's tennis top player Margaret Court accepted. Riggs beat her 6-2 6-1 thanks to his tricky use of drop shots and lobs, he then went on to taunt all female tennis players.
This prompted King to accept the offer to play Riggs in the nationally televised match. Having learned from Court's loss, King was prepared for Riggs' game and easily beat him 6–4 6–3 6–3. Some have claimed Riggs' loss...
