Michael Goldbach's first film, Daydream Nation, will be distributed in the USA, UK and Australia/New Zealand by Anchor Bay Films, reported The Hollywood Reporter. The film will be released in 2011.
This Canadian film follows a seventeen-year-old girl, Caroline (Kat Dennings), who moves with her dad in a small town. Life isn't too fun for her. At school, most students only think about partying or getting high. Caroline finds joy in "having great sex with Mr. Anderson (Josh Lucas), my by far favourite teacher". As she develops a friendship with one of her schoolmates (Reece Thompson), Mr. Anderson becomes jaleous.
The film also stars Andie MacDowell, Natasha Calis, Landon Liboiron, Genevieve Buechner, Katie Boland, Ted Whittall, Quinn Lord, Calum Worthy, Luke Camilleri, Cole Heppell, Patricia Isaac and William J. Phillips.
