While Drew Barrymore - actor, producer, director - has hardly been ubiquitous on our screens of late, she has been busy behind them, where she's been putting her own projects together. One of those, Animal, has moved a step closer to lift-off. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that an ensemble cast has signed on for the slasher horror.Joyful Noise's Keke Palmer has scored the headline role as one of a tightly-knit group of friends who are left isolated in alien terrain and terrorised by a maniac as they're picked off one by one. Another remote cabin in a darkened wood; another escalating bodycount. Seriously, how many times do movie characters need to be told? Cabins and woods don't mix. Joining Palmer in said woods are rapper-stroke-actress Eve, Prison Break's Amaury Nolasco, Friday Night Lights' Jeremy Sumpter, Chasing Amy's Joey Lauren Adams, Parker Young, Elizabeth Gillies, Paul Iacono and Thorsten Kaye.

Chicago – My general thoughts on “Fame” are best articulated by Joel Hodgson and his robot friends from “Mystery Science Theater 3000.” During their infamous commentary on “Mitchell,” Joel points to one of the young actors on the screen and says, “Hey it’s one of the kids from ‘Fame!’” “Which one?” asks his robotic companion. Joel’s response: “Any of ‘em.”
None of the young stars in director Alan Parker’s 1980 original film have gone on to become household names. Irene Cara came the closest when she won an Oscar for her song in “Flashdance,” but her fame quickly petered out in the mid-80s. Though Parker’s musical drama may have failed as a launching pad for lucrative careers, it did succeed as an unsentimental and thoroughly entertaining depiction of life as an aspiring performing artist.

The MGM remake of the classic, drama, musical "Fame" movie hit the theaters this weekend. The movie was ok for what it was, I guess. It had some pretty good performances, and dealt with issues that kids who want to pursue a career in the entertainment industry might face,as they make their way through it. It starred : Asher Book, Kristy Flores, Paul Iacono, Paul McGill, Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Kherington Payne, Collins Pennie, Walter Perez, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally, and Bebe Neuwirth. "Fame" centered around a group of talented kids who made it into the New York City High School of Performing Arts, and followed them for their four year term.Basically it followed the kids as they struggled to find out which avenue they wanted to pursue, and how some of them probably wouldn't be good enough...

Surrogates Studio: Touchstone Rated: PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, disturbing images, language, sexuality and a drug-related scene. Starring: Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, Ving Rhames and Boris Kodjoe Directed by: Jonathan Mostow What it’s about: In the not-too-distant future, people use robotic surrogates to interact with the world. However, when two surrogates are destroyed - and their operators are killed in the process - the police open the first homicide investigation in years. It's up to Bruce Willis - and his full head of surrogate hair - to track down the killer and uncover the mystery of why the murders took place. What I liked: I've always liked these sort of off-season science fiction action movies. While they wouldn't survive in a tentpole summer release, Surrogates is like Demolition Man, Virtuosity, Paycheck and this spring's Next. They're fun action flicks, and they can also be thought-provoking. Surrogates is based on a graphic novel, and...

The new Fame movie combines two of Hollywood’s latest trends; remakes and reinventions of classic 1980s films and television shows, and the current obsession with young talented stars as seen in Hannah Montana: The Movie and High School Musical. As well as being right on trend for a 2009 film, it’s also full of real talent; singers, dancers, musicians, artists and filmmakers make up the students of New York City High School of Performing Arts. For aspiring filmmaker Neil Baczynsky (Paul Iacono) it’s the perfect environment to get his creative juices flowing, and he’s lucky enough to have what all future movie-men need – a good camcorder. This week we’re bringing you his Canon Optura Pi MiniDV Digital Camcorder as our gadget spot of the week.

Here comes the fall. And I’m not talking about the seasons. Normally fall is when you notice the blockbusters, and the quality of those blockbusters, drop a touch.
But then again, what did August do for you? I loved Inglorious Basterds … and there was some decent escapes for dates like Julie & Julia and The Time Traveler’s Wife. It seems I’m in the minority thinking District 9 is only “pretty good.”
So what can we expect from September? Mike Judge returns to live-action features with Extract. Our blockbuster leftovers give us Whiteout and Surrogates. Michael Moore will try for another documentary full of impact with Capitalism: a Love Story. And Fame will try to prove that it truly can live forever. I wonder if they’ll also learn how to fly (high). I’m pinning my hopes on The Informant! and that kooky, crazy comedian Matt Damon.

I enjoyed the 1980 film directed by Alan Parker and starring Irene Cara. The soundtrack became a hit, and empowered many dreamers -- young boys and girls alike!
As we told you back in August of last year, Lakeshore Entertainment is pirouetting forward with the reboot!
And today, I received all these "Fame" goodies! We have some photos, and a synopsis! Yay!
The film will be released on Sept. 25th of this year. The plot?
