[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for the two-hour Season 1 finale to “The Passage.”]
In the two-hour season finale of “The Passage,” Fox’s newest thriller makes up for its lackadaisical pacing by introducing not one, but two apocalyptic events that spell doom for humanity. It also makes a massive time jump 97 years into the future when Amy Bellafonte (Saniyya Sidney), showing no signs of aging except for longer hair, has become a bow-and-arrow-wielding savior. By catapulting the hitherto claustrophobic story to such a grand and desolate scale, the show makes the best case for Fox to order a second season.
In the finale, the dozen Virals — death row inmates who have been infected by a virus that gives them vampire-like qualities — have broken out of the Project Noah facility in Colorado and have massacred and multiplied at an alarming rate. Amy has “turned” also but isn’t like the others; she’s maintained her humanity and has holed up in a cabin with her surrogate dad,...

The Passage gives us an emotional punch in its latest episode.
This The Passage review contains spoilers.
The Passage Episode 7
No, you’re crying. That’s the takeaway after an action-lite, character-driven seventh episode of The Passage that packs an emotional punch, and made us all weepy in a great hour of genre television.
This is a show about viral vampires, but “You Are Like The Sun” reminds the viewer that guilt and grief can also act like a disease that can eat us up on the inside, and has the potential to transform us into monsters. And the choice to take a breath and tell this heavy, emotional story late in the first season is a bold one that pays off.
Let’s talk some of the revelations. Brad and Lila Wolgast’s daughter Eva was shot in a botched liquor store robbery gone wrong. As if that’s...

Yes, Fox’s sci-fi drama The Passage is only about to air its third episode ever, but — virals be damned! — series star Henry Ian Cusick isn’t afraid to let us all in on Dr. Jonas Lear’s eventual endgame.
“He has one objective,” Cusick tells TVLine, and it won’t come as a surprise to anyone who watched last week’s installment: “His one, driving force has always been, ‘How can I get this virus, at its essence, to help my wife?'”

Need to catch up? Check out the previous Passage recap here.
Before we jump into what happened in The Passage‘s second outing, may I point out that Amy Bellafonte is perhaps the most self-possessed — and certainly the most forgiving — child on TV right now?
Sure, she hadn’t had a great life before Agents Wolgast and Doyle lied to her, kidnapped her and then inadvertently tossed her into a shooting match. (Ok, that last one was Wolgast alone.) But now she’s on the lam, subsisting on convenience store donuts and facing the very real worry that the person...

After a decent series premiere, The Passage picks up the pace in its second outing. Our review of "You Owe Me a Unicorn."
This The Passage review contains spoilers.
The Passage Episode 2
The Passage series premiere was pretty good, despite feeling a bit disjointed, a patched-together pilot from two directors. It also felt a little paint-by-the-numbers formulaic as it set the table for quite a few plot threads – including the end of the world. In the age of binge-worthy programming and HBO-level budgets, The Passage's opening hour felt very “network”.
Still, there was potential, thanks to the relationship building between agent Brad Wolgast (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Amy Belafonte (Saniyya Sidney), the young girl he is sent to kidnap for the shadowy government operation Project Noah. Episode 2, “You Owe Me A Unicorn” is a step up, with a cohesive tone and does more to flesh out its other characters,...

Dr. Jonas Lear (Henry Ian Cusick) feels responsible for what’s happening on Fox’s “The Passage.” That’s fair because, well, he kinda started it. And on Monday’s episode of the new drama, we will see how.
We spoke with Cusick ahead of his backstory-heavy installment — which TheWrap has an exclusive sneak peek from in the clip above — to find out how we’ll dive into the scientist’s story next week, in an episode that is similar to all the ones the actor did while playing Desmond on “Lost.”
“What’s at the core of Jonas Lear this whole season is guilt,” Cusick said. “The guilt about what he’s brought upon his best friend [Dr. Tim Fanning (played by Jamie McShane)] and these test subjects and the world.”

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the series premiere of “The Passage,” which aired Jan. 14 on Fox.
Author Justin Cronin’s “The Passage” trilogy consists of more than two thousand pages chronicling a post-apocalyptic world in which an attempt at finding a new immune system booster turned people into “virals,” superhuman creatures that communicate telepathically and have a vampire-like thirst for blood. The majority of the action takes place once the virals are already dominating the world, but when adapting Cronin’s tome for her new Fox drama of the same name, executive producer and showrunner Liz Heldens knew she wanted to spend more time playing in the pond that was Project Noah.

As a ravenous reader of The Passage novels, Mark-Paul Gosselaar wanted Fox’s adaptation to very closely mirror author Justin Cronin’s trilogy. But as the star of the TV series based on the books?
Well, Gosselaar still wanted everything to happen just like it does on the page.
“I’m like, ‘We need to stay true to the books!,'” Gosselaar tells TVLine in advance of tonight’s series’ premiere (9/8c). “‘We need to follow the books in a linear fashion.’ And it just doesn’t work.” He laughs. “I mean, I guess that’s why I’m not a producer of the show.

Fox has released a new trailer for their upcoming Ridley Scott and Matt Reeves-produced vampire series The Passage. The series is based on the epic book trilogy written by Justin Cronin and the show was written by the talented Liz Heldens (Friday Night Lights).

Fox has made its first pilot-to-series order of the upfront season with drama The Passage, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, from Liz Heldens, Matt Reeves, Scott Free and 20th Century Fox TV.

"I just want to know you're okay," he said in the emotional appeal to Andrew Koenig, the Growing Pains star who disappeared earlier this month. "If it means you just want to stay here, that's okay. You don't have to come back. Just let us know that's your intention." Walter Koenig, also an actor - he played Mr. Chekov on the original Star Trek TV show and movies - was joined by wife Judith at the televised press conference at the Vancouver Police Department.

The sister of missing actor Andrew Koenig is convinced her brother stopped taking his anti-depressant medication in the weeks before his disappearance.
The former Growing Pains star hasn't been seen since 14 February. He disappeared during a trip to Vancouver, Canada and was reported missing by a friend after failing to show up for his flight home to Los Angeles on 16 February.
Local police have been combing the area for the 42 year old and handing out his picture in the hope of finding him, but the star's sister Danielle is desperately worried for his safety because he has been failing to treat his depression.
She tells U.S. talk show host Larry King, "It's just very upsetting. My brother does suffer from depression. So we're very, very worried about him. And we just want to find him.
"I know he was on anti-depressants. And I just found out, through a friend he was visiting, that he has not been on them for a while. I did not realise that."
Constable Tim Fanning, of the Vancouver Police Department, reveals there has been a series of reported sightings of the star, whose father is former Star Trek actor Walter Koenig, which leads them to believe he is still alive.
And he's urging locals in Vancouver to be extra vigilant and contact authorities if they think they see Koenig. He says, "Tips are coming in, but we're pleading with the public, if you think you see him, go up, if it's possible, and try and talk to him and certainly alert us. If you think you've seen him over the past few days, then give us a call. Call your local police department and have them help you."...

While Canadian police continue their search for missing actor Andrew Koenig, a longtime friend told TMZ on Tuesday (February 23) that the former "Growing Pains" co-star emptied out his apartment in Venice, California, because he was looking for a fresh start in Vancouver.
Pal Lance Miccio visited Koenig's California apartment on Monday night and said the flat was cleaned out and that the actor told friends two weeks ago he planned to move back to Vancouver to "start over." Koenig, who was last seen February 14 and is said to be suffering from depression, chose the site of this year's winter Olympics because he lived there nearly 20 years ago and considered it his "place for solace."

New evidence surrounding the disappearance of "Growing Pains" star Andrew Koenig has led police to believe the actor is still alive.
"Electronic information leads us to believe that Andrew is still in the Vancouver area," Constable Tim Fanning of The Vancouver Police Department told RadarOnline. "We think Andrew is just lying low in Vancouver."
Atm and phone usage coupled with reported sightings of Koenig in Vancouver "leads us to the fact that he is still in the Vancouver area," says Fanning. "We are rehashing the evidence to see if there is anything we have missed."
"We are looking to find Andrew safe and sound," he adds.
This news should be comforting to friends and family who reported the actor missing on February 18 after he failed to make his flight back to Los Angeles two days before.
As of today (Mon. Feb. 22), it has been 8 days since friends last saw him on Valentine's Day.

Vancouver Police Constable Tim Fanning is telling "The Insider" the very latest about the search for former "Growing Pains" star Andrew Koenig. Fanning tells us that Koenig's Atm card and cell phone were used after February 14, the date the actor was last seen. Fanning did not disclose when the items were used because the search for Koenig is still an ongoing investigation. Koenig played Boner, the best friend of Mike Seaver on the hit '80s sitcom "Growing Pains." Anyone with information on Koenig's whereabouts should call the Vancouver police at 604-717-2534.
