Kaos has been a long-time coming. Netflix first announced it had commissioned this British dark comedy reimagining Greek mythology back in 2018, but the pandemic meant that filming only started last year, and there’s already been one major cast replacement.
And even though we’re no closer to an official release date, the impressive cast list, unique premise and solid production team make Kaos well worthy of your attention.
‘Nothing Is Sacred’ in This Bold Take On Greek Myth
Set over eight one-hour episodes, Kaos is a contemporary reimagining of Greek Mythology exploring themes of gender politics, power, and life in the underworld. The official synopsis describes how six humans will discover they’re part of an ancient prophecy:
“Zeus has a wrinkle. He’s worried it might mean the end of the world and it might. Because on Earth, six humans unaware of their importance or their connection to...

Happy Valley fans are trying to work out clues about what will happen in the finale.
The BBC drama, created by Sally Wainwright, will air its last ever episode on Sunday (5 February) as the third series draws to a close.
Fans are hoping that Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire), who is days away from retirement, will make it out of the series alive despite the fact that newly escaped prisoner Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) is after her.
They are also hoping that her grandson, Ryan (Rhys Connah), will do the right thing and reject his murderous father’s attempts to lure him to Spain.
Whatever happens, some fans believe that there’s one character who could play an instrumental part in how things play out.
This character is Alison Garrs (Susan Lynch).

Happy Valley fans have been left confused following the latest episode’s scenes set in Sheffield.
The BBC drama’s third and final series continued on Sunday (8 January) with an instalment that ended on yet another giant cliffhanger.
However, it was where the scene was filmed that caused some consternation among fans.
*Spoilers follow – you have been warned*
The episode saw Catherine follow her sister Clare (Siobhan Finneran) and her boyfriend Neil (Con O'Neill) as they seemingly escorted her grandson to see his father Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) in a Sheffield prison behind her back.
To follow them undetected, Catherine borrowed a car belonging to Alison Garrs (Susan Lynch), the mother of series two murderer Daryl (Robert Emms). In the series two finale, Alison killed her son and was arrested by a hesitant Catherine.
Six years on, she’s been released from prison – albeit under certain conditions. When Catherine...

Now, in the BBC’s first new drama of 2023, Sarah Lancashire’s detective Catherine Cawood will be returning to our screens.
Considering it’s been six years, you’re probably in need of a little referesher ahead of the forthcoming episodes.

It ain't easy being a hero in the overlooked corner of the "Star Wars" universe inhabited by Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and the various figures in his circles. As shown in the Disney+ series "Andor" (and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" before it), this is a very different kind of tale from the grand, operatic, and mythic storytelling of the main Skywalker Saga films. Here, good guys die without even a moment of glory, the bad guys succeed precisely because of the ruthless precision and efficiency in their mundane bureaucracy, and otherwise straightforward concepts like "good" and "bad" in the first place start to break down dramatically. Without Jedi, the Force, or predestined prophecies to help, the outmanned and outgunned rebels of "Andor" are truly on their own.
Nobody represents this lonely, underdog struggle quite like Stellan Skarsgård's Luthen Rael. The shadowy figure was first introduced early on as a mysterious broker,...

One way out ... of this article, that is, for those who haven't watched the latest episode of "Andor." Spoilers abound!
Compared to the movie that "Andor" first originated from, the prequel/spin-off series sometimes runs the risk of appearing downright uneventful next to the epic heroism of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." While the standalone film depicted some of the biggest and most spectacular battles in "Star Wars" history, the action in "Andor" feels far more restrained and low-key. In fact, two of the show's most extravagant set pieces only appeared recently: last week's prison break and the unexpected dogfight that comes near the close of episode 11. Other than that, the Diego Luna-starring series has been content to carve out its own distinct niche amid this larger-than-life franchise, savoring the smallest details that most other stories would ignore completely and instead treating them with a deadly sense of seriousness.

This Star Wars: Andor review contains spoilers.
Andor Episode 11
People are on the move on Andor. After several episodes of Cassian being stuck in prison, and Luthen hanging out at his antique shop, the name of the game in episode 11 is movement. Cassian and Melshi finally escape Narkina 5, while Luthen zips all around the galaxy. But at the same time, it’s clear Andor isn’t going to make any last-minute status quo-shattering plot changes. The lineup for the final seconds of the game has been called, and everything you need to know about the season 1 finale has already been set up here.
One of the things that Andor may be remembered for, at least in retrospect, is that the series doesn’t really lean on mystery boxes or massive plot twists to keep folks engaged. Yes, “One Way Out” gave us the identity of an Isb agent who is really a Rebel spy.

The last three episodes of “Andor” featured a prison without bars, but part of both the thrill and the pathos of the latest “Star Wars” series is that Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) has felt like a captive of the Empire the entire time. Everyone in “Andor” is trapped, often visually through the sculpted, strong lines of Luke Hull’s incredible production design, and always through the eye of the camera, helmed in the first three episodes and Episodes 8 through 10 by director Toby Haynes.
The last full scene of Episode 10, a rare face-to-face meeting in which double-agent Lonni Jung (Robert Emms) tries to get out of the spy game with his handler, rebellion mastermind Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård), Haynes and editor Simon Smith delight in jump cuts that snap closer and at slightly-off angles on Lonni. [This story contains spoilers for Andor episode ten, “One Way Out.”]
On the heels of Andor’s latest showstopper of an episode, creator Tony Gilroy wants to preview what lies ahead for Stellan Skarsgard’s fan-favorite character Luthen Rael in season one and beyond.
In episode eight, “Narkina 5,” Luthen met with Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) in an effort to convince the Partisan leader to form an alliance with Anto Kreegyr, the point man for another Rebel faction known as the Separatists. But Saw balked at the idea of joining forces despite Kreegyr having intel that could potentially destroy Spellhaus, an Imperial Power Station.
However, Luthen’s plan quickly changed in episode ten (“One Way Out”) as his Isb mole, Lonni (Robert Emms), informed him that the Isb captured one of Kreegyr’s Rebel pilots and uncovered his plan to raid Spellhaus. As a result, Luthen told Lonni that he’d sacrifice Kreegyr to protect his secret Rebel spy.

There will be spoilers for "Andor" Episode 10 – "One Way Out."
For a thrilling dramatic hour of television set in the "Star Wars" universe, featuring a tense and triumphant prison break that rivals the rescue of Princess Leia from the Death Star in "A New Hope," the 10th episode of "Andor" will probably be remembered for an entirely different reason. The impassioned speech that Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård) delivers at the end of "One Way Out" is immediately iconic. Luthen eloquently explains the intense sacrifice he's undergone as the secret leader of an interconnected web of dissent against the Empire. At first glance, it may not seem as if Luthen's life has been completely overtaken and consumed with his desire to create a true threat to galactic tyranny. But after he delivers a heartbreaking monologue, it's clear that he is carrying a much deeper burden that has already taken its toll.

In Star Wars: Andor episode 10, “One Way Out,” we spent quite a bit of time actually getting to know Robert Emms’ character Lonni Jung, an Isb supervisor who has been hanging in the background of the show since the fourth episode. While at first, it seemed that Lonni was meant to just warm a seat in scenes inside the Isb conference chamber, we finally learn the truth about the character in the latest episode. The Star Wars series reveals that this nondescript Imperial intelligence agent has been a Rebel mole all along, working for Luthen Rael. But that might be coming to an end, especially if the Empire discovers his true mission.
As the final scene shows, a nervous Lonni is now having second thoughts about helping Luthen, as the Empire closes in on Rebel leader Anto Kreegyr. Lonni meets with Luthen...

Andor Episode 10
Out of all contemporary Star Wars TV shows, Andor may end up becoming the most interesting rewatch. While the thrills and surprises in The Mandalorian are top-notch, those big moments (like Luke Skywalker going to town in “The Rescue”) don’t really make you feel like going back and watching previous episodes for context. Andor is the opposite. With episode 10, Andor has delivered a massive twist, but this surprise won’t be the thing you’ll want to rewatch. Instead, it will be everything leading up to it. Andor is a show about spies, and that means, with a twist like this, everything you’ve already watched has suddenly changed.
Although “One Way Out” will likely be remembered as “the one where Cassian finally breaks out of prison,” the bigger twist is all about a Rebel spy we didn’t know existed.

The first three episodes of LucasFilm‘s new Star Wars series, Andor, are now officially available! Disney+ released the installments together as a block, seemingly as a tactic to secure future viewers due to the show’s slow burn pacing. That said, the remainder of the first season will be making its way to the streaming service in weekly doses.

Warning: this War of the Worlds review contains spoilers.
Careful what you wish for. In its first season, War of the Worlds came under fire for its deliberately meditative pace. It was just too sparse for some. They found the journeys too slow and the revelations too few and far between. Season two appears to have addressed that complaint by turning up the dial. Episode one upended a barrel of plot all over viewers’ heads, and episode two has done the same, leaving us swimming in the stuff.
This week, there were name-character deaths, an armed attack, a big family reunion, a pregnancy, two break-ups, two assassination attempts and a sibling murder around which a conspiracy was formed. No sooner had one event happened than the next came along. There was no chance of getting bored, but also little time left for reflection.

That’s one mystery cleared up, and a secondary one about how a bunch of genetically weakened humans psychically connected via a quantum web ended up invading Earth in massive spaceships is for season two to solve. The Invaders’ new ‘Kill Bill’ mission has such a strong 12 Monkeys whiff to it that time travel has to be a factor. One of the favorites heading into this year’s Canneseries Short-Form Competition has to be the star-studded anthology series “Do Not Disturb,” spearheaded by the U.K.’s Pulse Films in association with Blackpills Studio.
Michael Haussman and Larry Volpi created the series, and its nine, 10-minute episodes were written by the two along with Olivia Poulet, Mike O’Leary, Nida Manzoor and Davey Spens.
“Do Not Disturb” takes the audience behind the little plastic placards we hang on hotel-room door handles when we need a nap, want to be left alone, or perhaps up to something a bit more adult, as is often the case in this show.
Some episodes are comedies, some terrifying and others sultry, but each explores the darker side of humanity that is often kept behind closed doors.
The series’ directors include Haussman, Jude Law, Jake Chapman, Mounia Akl, Dylan Southern, Will Lovelace, Zoe Casavettes and Matthew Huston.

Curses and accusations abound in the latest episode of BBC supernatural period drama The Living And The Dead…
This review contains spoilers.
“A strange summer” Nathan Appleby remarked to his pal the vicar over a tankard of ale. “Disturbing” agreed the man of the cloth. That’s what comes of living in a six-part supernatural miniseries. Weird events occur on a weekly basis.
Especially at harvest time, a period so crucial to the economic existence of Shepzoy, it’s fraught with superstition and accusation even before the ghost-of-the-week turns up.
That’s what makes The Living And The Dead’s setting such fertile ground for spooky storytelling. Belief in ghosts, curses and witchcraft is already stewed in with the life of the village. Their ways are the old ways, and those old ways are rapidly knocking Nathan Appleby’s Enlightenment rationalism into a cocked hat.

The 90-minute Atlantis finale is a powerhouse of storytelling and intrigue, marked by some exceptional performances...
This review contains spoilers.
2.12 The Queen Must Die
The finale of Atlantis is feature length, bringing together a two-part story into one last episode written by series co-creator Howard Overman and entitled, quite ominously, The Queen Must Die.
With Jason and Hercules off to break a prisoner out of the cells, Pythagoras and Icarus share a tender moment talking about stars and maths, whilst they hide from a patrol. So focused on their plan are they that they remain unaware of Icarus' deception as he attempts to secure the release of his father, Daedalus, by leaking the rescue plans to Pasiphae.
Rescuing his fellow slaves, Jason inadvertently leads them into an ambush. As the bodies pile up, Jason realises they have been betrayed and Pythagoras knows by whom. As they escape Atlantis, another betrayer...

The Dying Of The Light takes Atlantis further down its dark path, with Pasiphae at her most dangerous and unpredictable...
This review contains spoilers.
2.10 The Dying Of The Light
Broadly speaking, things are not going well in Atlantis. Our heroes are on the run and not getting on, Pasiphae isn’t the happiest of monarchs as she hunts for Ariadne and tries to keep her secret… secret, and the darkness could very well be about to consume Atlantis.
With Medusa dead, Pasiphae has confessed her secret, sending Jason on the dark path prophesied by The Oracle. Now on the run, thanks to an audacious rescue by Jason, Ariadne must survive as well as ensure that the friends are bound together, despite their growing differences that occasionally lead to violence.
Pasiphae has had her own confidence issues, knowing that now Jason is aware of his heritage and that he's the true heir to the throne.

2.9 The Gorgon's Gaze
Let's start, as ever, with a recap of this week's action.
With Pasiphae now in a position of power, the Gods have warned that they are angry and have spoken through new Oracle, Cassandra. Unhappy with the condemnation of her actions, Pasiphae is advised that the solution is clear - get Ariadne to pass on the crown and kill the young queen.
There's little joy in the heroes' camp, either, as Jason, Pythagoras and Medusa fight inner turmoil as they realise the insurmountable task they face if they wish to save Ariadne and the fate of Atlantis.
Refusing to break under pressure, Ariadne fears for her life as Pasiphae threatens her body, then her life, with Medea using her knowledge of the dark arts to torture the queen,...

Atlantis is indubitably stronger than it was in series one, but cancellation means it won't get a chance to capitalise on that success...

The Madness Of Hercules deals with the aftermath of The Oracle's death, Medusa's return and the arrest of Jason, sentenced to death by the corrupt Melas and unable to speak to his beloved Ariadne, who is suffering in silence and trying to maintain some form of order in an Atlantis without an Oracle.
As Jason languishes behind bars, the friends are divided. Hercules goes on the search for his lost love, the Gorgon Medusa, and must comfort her as she struggles with her actions. Seemingly cured, she’s the one person who can free Jason, but only by sacrificing her own life.

Atlantis will return to BBC One next month.
The fantasy drama will resume its second series on Saturday, April 11 at 7.45pm.
Based on the Greek myths, Atlantis was cancelled by the BBC earlier this year, but returns to air its final seven episodes.
Series star Jack Donnelly - who plays Jason - previously told Digital Spy that he was "gutted" by news of the show's axing.
"Everything is left up in the air - everything," he said. "I think the ending is brilliant, but they really set it up - the producers definitely had an idea for what the third series was gonna be.
"We'd had massive discussions - me and the other actors - about what might happen and that's all left up in the air."
Atlantis also stars Robert Emms, Mark Addy, Aiysha Hart and Sarah Parish, and was co-created by Misfits writer Howard Overman and Merlin's Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy.

Atlantis will not return for a third series.
The fantasy drama will not be re-commissioned once the current run has finished airing, Digital Spy has learned.
Speaking exclusively to DS, a BBC spokesperson said: "The final seven episodes of Atlantis will transmit on BBC One in spring. We would like to thank Urban Myth Films and all the cast and crew but the series will not be re-commissioned.
"We are very proud of both series but to keep increasing the range of BBC One drama we have to make difficult decisions to bring new shows through."
The second series of Atlantis is comprised of 13 episodes - the first six aired late last year before the show went on hiatus, while an exact date for the final seven is yet to be confirmed.
The series, inspired by ancient Greek myths, starred Jack Donnelly as Jason, Mark Addy as Hercules and Robert Emms as Pythagoras.

Others in the cast include Sarah Parish, Aiysha Hart, and Jemima Rooper.
Below are the show's TV ratings, typically the best way to tell if the series will be cancelled or renewed. In this case,...

Atlantis delivers yet another strong episode in series two. Can it keep up this momentum?
This review contains spoilers.
2.6 The Grey Sisters
Let's recap this week's action.
Jason is infuriated and hunting down Medea for her attempt to kill Ariadne. As he chases her through the forest, he's unable to catch her and threatens instead to kill her.
After chasing down but failing to capture Medea, Jason makes it clear that he will kill her but, with the Queen's life in danger, he, Hercules and Pythagoras return to Atlantis, passing Ariadne into the care of The Oracle.
As Hercules drowns his sorrows in food, he discusses the loss of Euridice with Orpheus, the elder intent on retrieving his love... even if it means a trip to Hades. "Where there's love, there's always a way," he says, cryptically.
Though it appears that the Queen may be recovering, it soon becomes clear...

2.5 The Day Of The Dead
As ever, let's kick off with a short recap of tonight's action.
Pasiphae's life is in peril and she uses the last of her strength to cast an incantation upon a handy sarcophagus, awakening the body within. Her magic rapidly spreads throughout the Necropolis, reanimating more of the deceased.
With Hercules and Pythagoras hunting for Jason, who has seemingly fallen to his doom, Ariadne fears she may have lost the man she truly loves. Together with Orpheus and Euridice, they must first fight the zombie hordes.
Jason, in the meantime, is facing a moral quandary as he finds himself trapped with Medea, Pasiphae's aide, surrounded by more of the zombie hordes. The new arrangement, as Jason tries to save her, disorientates Medea's moral...

A new prince arrives in Atlantis against the backdrop of combat in this week's tightly plotted episode. Here's Dave's review...
This review contains spoilers.
2.3 Telemon
Ariadne, it seems, has finally risen in stature to the role of Queen, beloved by her people. With the Coronation Games only a few days away, Ariadne must choose a champion whilst she hides her love for Jason and her intent to hunt down Pasiphae.
With Jason selected as her champion, Hercules' secret is making him an angry man, much to the disapproval of Pythagoras. With the secret now shared, and Hercules reinforcing their position as protectors of the secret and of Jason's destiny, Hercules sets out to train Jason and they come across Telemon, another warrior intent on winning the games.
Pythagoras doesn't trust Telemon, though Hercules thinks differently. It's made even more suspect when Telemon is revealed to be a prince, just what...

Go behind the scenes on Atlantis with a look at some of the show's most spectacular stunts.
Jack Donnelly (Jason), Robert Emms (Pythagoras) and Mark Addy (Hercules) all appear in a new clip exploring the fantasy drama's epic action sequences.
Atlantis returned to BBC One for its second series last Saturday (November 15) with 'A New Dawn: Part One'.
The show's stars have promised that series two is "much darker [and] much more action-packed" than its 2013 episodes.
"Every part of it is so much more layered and deep - the characters are more layered, their relationships are more complex," said Aiysha Hart, who plays Ariadne.

Atlantis makes a welcome return with an action-packed start to a more grown-up second series...
This review contains spoilers.
2.1 A New Dawn Part One
Atlantis series 2 is, it seems, a rebirth for the series, with actors Mark Addy (Hercules) and Jack Donnelly (Jason) suggesting in interviews that writer Howard Overman and producers Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps have created an improvement on the first.
This time around, the show's creators seem to be taking advantage of the storytelling opportunities offered by Atlantis' 8.30pm timeslot, after the mis-step in the first season that saw a programme being broadcast at close to the watershed without any of the maturity that an audience would expect at that time. While A New Dawn Part One wasn't full of nudity, violence and gore, it’s certainly dramatically darker than series one
Starting with King Midas' funeral and Pasiphae attacking, Ariadne darkly states that “this...
